Music Production Workshop

Wed, Aug 12, 10:30 PM
From Sound Collective Workshops
4.9

[Please RSVP](https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/production-basics-free-workshop) to ensure you will be able to participate in this free workshop. [Production Basics](https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/production-basics-free-workshop) is a free, hands-on 2-hour workshop that gives you a real introduction to making music from scratch. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session focuses on one core skill: building your first groove and loop. A professional producer walks you through how a beat actually comes together, from picking sounds to laying down patterns to shaping an idea into something that sounds like a track. This is built to give you an honest read on whether music production is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No DAW experience or prerequisites required. However, [RSVP is required.](https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/production-basics-free-workshop) Workstations are available on a **first-come, first-served basis**, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot. If all workstations are taken by the time you arrive, you’re still more than welcome to join the session, observe, and jump on the gear during open practice time!

New York Dodgeball Open Gym (UES)

New York Dodgeball Open Gym (UES)

Thu, Aug 20, 11:00 PM
From New York Dodgeball
4.9

This is a social event, so while some of us like to revel in being competitive, the goal is to meet people and have fun! That being said, headshots are **NOT ALLOWED**. We use cloth style dodgeballs. This provides a fun, friendly and competitive environment without any pain or bruising. The games are set to cool music. Basically, it’s one big party with dodgeball, music and friends. We’ll pick teams from people who show up each week. There will be no refs, but experienced New York Dodgeball players will oversee games. Co-ed, ages 21 and up. Please note we **always** have enough players for this event. Meetup is just one place we advertise, so if you only see one or two RSVPs please know that there will be others attending. We have a regular group of players who attend regularly and we would love for you to be part of this group. Wear athletic style clothing (work out clothes, basketball sneakers) and knee pads if you have them. If you wear glasses, we recommend wearing contacts or sports goggles. Event Details: Venue Address: 921 Madison Ave. New York, NY Date: Thursday July 9th Cost: $10 (Accepting Cash, Venmo or Zelle)
