Intermediate Level Paddlers - Swim Support Training

*This trip is open to those who have **received an invitation to join the swim support*** \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **Swim Support Training** Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse and Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse are running swim support training for our volunteers in Hoboken and Brooklyn Bridge Park this summer. In these trainings, we’ll cover basics of swim support with some on-land and on-water skills. We are organizing this in conjunction with Urban Swim to better help assist Urban Swim with kayak swim support. **PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:** All paddlers will be placed on a waitlist and added after verification. **For HCCB**: 1. volunteered in 2025 or 2026 during our public kayak days (Hoboken Cove) AND 2. You received an invitation to join **For BBPB**: \* Your registration will be verified with BBPB **For other boathouses**: \* When you register, you'll be placed on a waitlist. The organizer will reach out to confirm if you're a good fit for this training. **COME PREPARED:** * Water * Snacks/food if you’d like * Sunscreen * Hat * Change of clothes This has an on-water training component, so you will get wet. Whether you're catching your first wave or just ready to ride again, we've got you covered with surf lessons, full gear, and good times all around. Wall Street to Rockaway Ferry through Jamaica Bay, 4-5 miles

Please join us in celebrating the Jamaica Bay Festival and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy by participating in this event. We'll meet at 9:20am at the Pier 11, Wall Street NYC Ferry slip for the 10am Ferry to Rockaway, which travels through Jamaica Bay, arriving in Rockaway at 11am. We'll walk east on the Boardwalk to 90th Street where we will eat lunch. Bring your own or purchase at various food kiosks there. Weather permitting we may stop for a swim in the Atlantic. We might also continue walking untill we return to the NYC Rockaway Ferry slip at around 2-3 pm, depending on how we are feeling. Bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, sunscreen, hat, swim gear, towel, etc. **Please do not RSVP for this walk unless you truly plan to attend.
