Hello, Hello all, It is hot, too hot so what?! Let's go to the sea for a walk and a delightful SWIM! So what could we do on a beautiful day you are asking ? Well just one thing, HIKING by the sea with the loveliest people you know and of course, maybe have a swim for those who fancy... Join me on trip, tried last year with a lovely group of guinea pigs who enjoyed it with a lot of laughter. We will be on the cliff top for most of the time, so you will have some gorgeous view of the English Channel and we will end our trip in the historical town of Folkestone, a gorgeous town that has managed to keep its old days atmosphere and where you will be given the opportunity to have a dip in the sea at the end of the trip if you fancy and if the weather allows. Folkestone is a port town on the English Channel and is one hell of a trendy place, that mizes history, food, nature and some colourful houses and streets where you can wander for hours. So guys, what a better way to start the weekend? With a hike, by the sea and as usual, a meal or a drink afterwards. We have found a delightful little Thai restaurant last time with a Juke Box that played Barbie Girl on replay as it was our song of the day...DELICIOUS food or we can try another if you wish to... INFORMATION: Distance:10 miles/17km Difficulty:medium, a couple of hills. There is an optional sea swim at the end for those who want to cool off after a good day’s walk.* From the small town of Berwick nestled on the foot of the South Downs and home to the Bloomsbury painted church - to the sea for a swim at the wide Seaford Bay - its a promising day a of a mix of woodlands, arable fields, wild flowers, ancient hill carvings, climbs and remote paths. **HIGHLIGHT** We will be walking from Berwick to Bishopstone and discovering: * An artistic church painted by the 1960’s Bloomsbury Group * Sitting on top of the Long Man of Wilmington with stupendous views * The smallest church in the Sussex & Lullington Heath Nature Reserve * A quaint riverside pub for a well earned refreshment on Cuckmere River * Getting up close to the White Horse carved into the hillside * Walking on off-the-beaten-paths with wild plants and buzzing insects * Optional sea swim in magnificent Seaford bay. **DESCRIPTION** This is a beautiful part of Sussex, with fantastic views, quaint villages and pubs, rolling hills and ancient hill carvings. On this trip, we'll show you the best of Suffolk, both inland and along the coast. In the morning, we'll set off for a relaxing walk between the charming villages of Long Melford and Lavenham. Lavenham, nestled in the heart of the tranquil Suffolk countryside, is considered Britain's best-preserved medieval village. It's famous for its many unusual, timber-framed, brightly painted houses, which are noticeably crooked, leaning on each other as if for support. *There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.* *He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.* *He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,* *And they all lived together in a little crooked house.* Remember that nursery rhyme? It is believed to be inspired by Lavenham. 500 years ago, Lavenham was the 14th richest town in England, thanks to the booming wool trade. Wealthy wool merchants built grand houses, churches and other beautiful buildings, which we can still see today. After stopping for lunch in Lavenham and taking plenty of pictures, we'll drive to the coast to discover the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our trail will take us to the unspoilt, natural shingle Dunwich Beach and the beautiful Dunwich Heath – one of the jewels in Suffolk's crown, especially known for the glorious mantle of purple heather that covers it each summer, with the North Sea as a stunning backdrop.
