Social Beach Volleyball, then Dinner at the Restaurant or Takeaways. **🏐Who is it for?** All Level Players - Beginners, Intermediates to Advanced. For all ages - most of the people that came to our events are in their 20s & 30s. If you are beginner, please don't hesitate to ask our organisers for quick run down of passing and serving. If you are not a beginner, help or encourage beginners how to play better. Have fun and enjoy the game. 📍**Where** **Coogee Beach** North Side of the Beach, near the small boats, near Coogee Pavillion Look for Blue Copaya Net or yellow net, Boombox speaker or blue IKEA bag. Coogee Club volleyball sometimes also there, that is not us. 🎫**Event Ticket** Event Ticket at the event is $3 from each attendees to help pay meetup cost, buy new nets, balls & other equipment for the events. *Available tap to pay using card or phone at the event or cash or payid.* **🏐Volleyball Game Time** **2:00pm - 2:30pm** Practice Session (Passing, Serving, Spiking, Teamwork) **2:30pm until 6:00pm** Games (Non Daylight Savings Time) **3:00pm until 8:00pm** Games (Daylight Savings Time) ***Maintain respect to each other's space. Please follow game rules below.*** 📌V**olleyball Game Rules** * Max 3 hits per team * A block does not count as one of the 3 hits * Encourage passing or setting the ball to your team mates * No double hits (except after a block) * No touching the net * Serve behind the court line * Ball out = point to other team * No catching, kicking or throwing the ball * Rotate when your team wins the serve from the opponents * If your team is already serving and wins the point → no rotation * Communication is encouraged to avoid collisions (Say mine! or my ball) * No interference or distraction of the opposing team * Fix the net if loosen * Play safe and communicate with team mates * Help setup/pack up the nets and balls * Do not lose any pins * Avoid kicking the ball as sand can hit other people's eyes We will be playing 6v6, 5v5, 4v4 at Coogee Beach on rotation so that everyone who attends gets a chance to play. We will have 2-3 nets for everyone. **Winning team stays, losing team allow next team to play. Or both teams allow next teams to play if we have a lot of people waiting.** The idea is to play the game and go to a restaurant/bar after for more socialising, game activities. **🍽️🍺🍸Dinner Time** **(Bring shoes, passport or driver license to get into any venue)** *Let us know if you are joining dinner.* Beach Burrito Co or Chargrill Charlie's Coogee, or Coogee Hotel, Coogee Pavillion for food and drinks. **6:30pm-9:30pm** **Dinner** (Non Daylight Savings Time) **8:00pm-10:00pm** **Dinner** (Daylight Savings Time) Extra: Bring card games or any other game ideas for during dinner or after dinner to make socialising more fun. Dive Against Debris x DCM

Kelp Collective is rocking up as a group to Dive Centre Manly's **Dive Against Debris** underwater and beach clean-up. Everything we pull out gets logged as real data for PADI AWARE, which feeds into policy change. Good for the ocean, good vibes, good people 🐙 📍 **Manly Cove or Shelly Beach** — site confirmed closer to the date based on conditions. Both are DCM's adopted dive sites. I'll post the final call and meeting point here, so keep notifications on 🔔 ⏳ Around 4 hours all up, with roughly 45–90 min in the water 🍜 Post-dive feed nearby after for anyone keen. LGBTQ+ divers, allies and first-timers all welcome 🏳️‍🌈 **Ways to join in** * 🤿 Scuba (Open Water cert required) * 🏊 Snorkel or freedive (no experience needed) * 🏖️ Beach clean-up or sorting and recording data on land **Cost** **Free** to sign up. We play on hard ground, so leave the spike boots at home (unless you enjoy sliding around like Bambi on ice ). *** **One golden rule:** Cancelling after **12 PM on Saturday** means you’re out for future games. If you say you’re coming, you’re coming. Why? Because commitment is the only “fee” we charge. No drama, no flakes — just good people and good football. Coast, History and Lookouts! Little Manly, Sydney’s Q Station and North Head.

**Most of us have done the Taronga Zoo to Manly Walk or some version of it, right? How about a walk just as good, but different?** **We will meet at Circular Quay Wharf 3 in time to catch the 9.30am ferry. If you prefer to go straight to Manly, please be outside Max Brenner at Manly Wharf no later than 10am (ferry arrives at 9.52am). Please be on time.** **From here we will walk along the coast to Little Manly Cove and then make our way to North Head in the Sydney Harbour National Park.** **Part of this walk is along a 6-foot stone wall built to segregate the military area (no longer under military control) from the rest of the peninsula. This can get muddy so wear appropriate shoes.** **Then we will make our way to Sydney’s Q Station where people were quarantined. We will visit the Third Class Precinct, Hospital Precinct and Wharf Precinct where we will have a break and visit the small museum (there is a beach here for those that want to take a dip).** **We will then climb 250 steps to reach the Former First Class Precinct and wonder around before heading out.** **Although there are no guarantees, there is very little chance of being infected by anything serious (so they told me).** **From here, we will head to the North Fort Precinct along the Sanctuary Loop, a walking track that points out all the wildflowers along the way, and we will do the Fairfax Walk where we will spend time at the Burragula and Yiningma Lookouts, with glorious views of South Head and the city skyline. Volleyball on Monday Public Holiday

Play social volleyball in a structured yet easy-going relaxed atmosphere. All levels welcome, from "never-played-before" to "advanced". **What we usually do:** 1. **Set-up** volleyball nets/courts. **Warm up** drills. **Play time**. 2. **Mixed games** (each team will have a mix of players of different playing level). This allows intermediate and beginners to learn from the the more experienced players. **Note:** Advanced players are NOT allowed to serve or spike hard. If they do, they may be asked to leave. 3. **Level-based games.** We will form teams based on skill level, so the more advanced players don't have to hold back any more and the more intermediate or beginners can practice what they've learned with other players of a similar playing level. 4. **Pack-up equipment.** Please don't leave any equipment, belongings or rubbish behind. **FREE event** We will provide the volleyball equipment, a bluetooth speaker (accepts USB sticks and memory cards) and the space to play. You BYO everything else (suitable clothes, footwear, water bottle (there are taps you can use to refill), sun protection, food, etc.). Since it is a public holiday, feel free to bring something extra (snacks, food, drinks) for yourself and/or to share - no pressure or obligation. **Location:** We play in the large flat open area opposite the Kiosk/Cafe (with toilets) and children's playground. Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Pls don’t separate from the group, unless you let someone know, preferably me. The waitlist is completely discretionary….reliable regulars will ALWAYS be included. 🆗……….If you are a no show, you will not be welcome to join a future walk with me. (It’s a courtesy kind of thing). If people are on the waitlist, it is also very inconsiderate.
