Casual Painting Workshops in Brunswick West

Fri, Jul 10, 12:30 AM
From Melbourne Calm Painting Workshops by TanShi

Hello art lovers, for this meet-up, we’ll use water-based acrylic paints to create a small artwork that you can take home and display. Each session includes a live demonstration from me, so beginners are absolutely welcome! The group is intentionally small, which means there is plenty of time for questions and individual guidance:-) Recent themes we've done include: A lakeside scene inspired by Ballarat A picture of flowers, "I want to display" Let me know what you would like to try :-) Upcoming sessions • Friday 10 July — 10:30am–1:30pm • Saturday 11 July — 2:00pm–5:00pm **Place** Brunswick West (private home studio space – exact address provided after booking via message) **Fee** $50 AUD All materials included. You only need to bring: • a drink • a lunch or snack(if you need) • a bag to carry your artwork home The finished painting is approximately A5 size. If you’d like to join, please send me a message with: 1\. Your name 2\. Which date you’d like to attend 3\. A short introduction \(your art experience or what interests you about joining\) **Deposit** To help me prepare enough materials and confirm participant numbers, a $20 deposit is required to secure your place. Please make the deposit by 8:00 pm on Thursday, 9 July via bank transfer. The remaining $30 can be paid on the day of the session (cash or PayID). Let you know the details in a message. (It's not a free event, sorry! I'm still using the free plan on this platform...) I’m hoping to create a friendly space where people can enjoy making art without pressure, meet others, and leave with a painting they’re proud of. If you’re coming alone, don’t worry — most of the people join solo, and the group is kept small and friendly! Thanks for reading, and feel free to message me with any questions:-)

Women's Personal Development Circle: The Psychology Of Money

Women's Personal Development Circle: The Psychology Of Money

Sun, Jul 12, 1:00 AM
From Girls Who Boss - Melbourne
4.8

We've had so much positive feedback from you all about our discussion series and women's circle around money mindset that we've decided to take it a step further and do a deep dive into the psychology of money. This month, we'll draw our discussion from Morgan Housel's best-selling book, *The Psychology of Money*. Now, while you'll get the most out of this discussion from reading the book beforehand, we know that life can get busy, so this is not a prerequisite for attending this event. We'll be learning what it means—and what it takes—to make smarter financial decisions together. Below are some of the main discussion points that we'll be covering: * How our personal histories, experiences, and emotions can drive our financial behaviours * How we can all learn to develop long-term thinking when it comes to money * What financial success means to us and the steps that we can take to build a life aligned with our values and goals While we will be referring to materials written by an expert, the event itself isn't an expert-led workshop or lecture. Instead, it’s a genuine circle of women showing up honestly, sharing challenges, celebrating wins, and keeping each other accountable on our financial journeys. Presenting - How to Think on your Feet

Thu, Jul 9, 8:15 AM
From SmashSpeak- Real World Presenting & Leadership
4.7

Smashing! Try something new Thursday Interactive reality workshop - Tonight learn how to respond to questioning, by thinking on you feet Serious about improving your leadership - **Why mess, come to the best** Why is Smashing different to other speaking clubs? Just two member's thoughts, "The fun/laughs factor is definitely a point of difference. We keep it moving with high standards so it’s a nice balance. Too strict makes it tense and boring, too loose and we can lose the energy/commercial feel. SmashSpeak's vibe's in the sweet spot." "At other clubs I used to listen to long speeches and lectures, here we get so many chances to talk every meeting, that we have to improve" **Free parking** close: O'Connell and Cobden streets **IMPORTANT: Be on time, as doors close when the show starts** “Proudly Australian" – Free-flowing teamwork, greater good focus, sharing the stage, etc Multicultural Hub, 506 Elizabeth St (Opposite Queen Vic Market) Level 1, RED Room (End of corridor) More to come...
