Urban Hike: Bernal Heights Park

Join us for a relaxed morning of good conversation, fresh pastries, and a scenic hike up Bernal Heights Park! We'll start by meeting at **Arizmendi Bakery** to grab coffee and pastries before heading out together for a walk to the top of Bernal Heights Park. The hike is short but rewarding, with panoramic views of San Francisco and the Bay Area. **Notes:** * Please arrive on time so we can leave together after meeting at the bakery. Near and Inside the Presidio Golden Gate National Recreation Area, we are going up several sets of historic and scenic staircases. We will enjoy the 'Wave Organ', an acoustic sculpture on the jetty in the San Francisco Bay. Working our way along the edge of the Presidio past the lovely and majestic palace of fine arts, we head up the steep and busy Lyon staircase to panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay. We enter the presidio and take the Mountain Trail where we have lush green and views on one side and million dollar mansions on the other. Quad 4 hike: Muir Woods from Bootjack

Join docent Franklin Young for an interpretive hike to Muir Woods from Bootjack. On a Wednesday morning, we hope to enjoy a peaceful stroll among the majestic redwoods. Please note this hike has 1500 ft of elevation gain over 5.5 miles. **Hike Route** 5.5 miles / 1500 feet elevation gain Start at Bootjack Parking Lot; Matt Davis to Stapelveldt to Ben Johnson; cross Redwood creek to Bootjack back to Bootjack Parking Lot Pace: Moderate but steady Recommended: water, sturdy shoes, hiking poles, snack, layers Sign up is required PARKING: Bootjack parking requires an $8 cash fee. There may be a barcode option to pay by credit card, but only if there is cellular service CANCELLATIONS: Rain, red flag days, winds above 30 mph, and unforeseen circumstances will cancel. Claremont Canyon Hike (Dogs welcome)

In the Claremont Canyon Regional Perserve, part of the Eastbay regional park. Behind the historic Claremont Hotel is a 208-acre preserve with picturesque hiking trails. The Stonewall-Panoramic Trail is the primary trail, with the best views in the Berkeley Hills that include Downtown Berkeley, Downtown Oakland, and the San Francisco Bay. A steep climb uphill, but amazing views of the Golden Gate, Bay Bridge, Berkeley and Oakland and a lovely 360 views at the top. Do make sure you take in the full panoramic view, not just the golden gate.
