12kms Manly Beach to Long Reef to "New" Brookvale Microbrew!!!
Fri, Aug 21, 11:30 PM**Bondi to Coogee** gets all the praise, but I'll take **Manly Beach to Dee Why Beach & Long Reef Headland** any any day of the week! But first... **7,000 members and growing!** Nice work team! Sheez to think two years ago only *one hiker* came on this Long Reef Hike (yes, we saw Chris Hemmesworth on a jetski [pic below] - ladies you missed out), and I was ready to shut the group down. And now? We've grown. Oh we've grown. And I believe we're the best hiking group in Sydney! **Well, you all are the best... and Sydney's dose of Mother Nature we are so lucky to hike is absolutely the best in the world!** **THE HIKE.** 930am **we meet at Guzman y Gomez on Manly Wharf,** and off we go... **Manly Beach, Queenscliff Beach, Freshwater Beach,** to the **Boardwalk**, **Curl Curl Beach**, **Curl Curl Rockpool** (perhaps my favourite in Sydney), then into **Dee Why Headland** where it's proper hiking with unforgettable views... **Dee Why Beach** and its rockpools are heavenly. This hike is 10/10 beautiful. We'll beach walk from there onto **Long Reef Headland...** one of the prettiest views in Sydney. Let's spot some whales! **[IF YOU HIT ATTEND, COME BACK HERE AND CLICK ON THIS LINK. YOU MUST JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP, OR SADLY YOU CAN'T COME ON THIS EVENT.](https://chat.whatsapp.com/D35rxs7Y6eFCQ9KZx2ooeb)** Post-hike, it's a super short 199 bus to Brookvale... **[Freshwater Brewing Co](https://freshieclubhouse.com.au/)** has had a refurbish. I thought it was really pretty before... let's check out "Freshie Clubhouse" and see what's new! We're placing footsteps all over the Manly Beach area this August - it's truly my favourite beach town in Australia. Come explore with us and "Cheers" at the end. See you Saturday. MJ **THE FINER PRINT.** **Cancels / No shows.** Treat your RSVP like a restaurant reservation. *No show / cancel on the day?* That restaurant is my hiking group – you won’t be welcomed in the future. Respect and manners matter. **Safety.** Let’s chat, let’s have some laughs… but let’s be safe. **Gratuity.** $10 PayID or Cash. **Transport.** Manly Ferry Wharf. I'm certain you know how to get there. **Fitness.** Yup. Fitness matters for this one. **Guests.** Bring mates, dates, co-workers. ***In pressing the “Attend” button for this hike, you acknowledge that:*** a) You are healthy and fit to complete the hike describe; b) You have read and will follow [NSW National Parks Bushwalking Safety Guidelines](https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety/bushwalking-safety) for this hike; c) You have no chronic / underlying health issues that deter you from completing this hike; d) You understand your host is just that – your host, not a professional hiker – and that you and you alone are responsible for your hiking health, safety, and wellness; e) You’ve been advised to download the “Emergency Plus App” and f) You’ve been advised to obtain individual [hiking insurance from 1Cover](https://www.1cover.com.au/adventure-travel-insurance/hiking-trekking/?utm_source=google&utm_source_platform=gads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=13564994076&utm_term=adventure%20travel%20insurance&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=13564994076&gbraid=0AAAAAD_bfRAu6Io5ZkHeiIYCP_evtsQ_z&gclid=CjwKCAjwz5nGBhBBEiwA-W6XRLm8Itjn1am8sdPMxVhBtRmsDOWkolLlVATJcXW5jW-9JgB7hb9kMhoC7M0QAvD_BwE). g) Over 60yrs old, and new to the group?
