Parking near the park on festival weekend is very tough, so transit is strongly recommended. **Bring** The festival has security screening at the entrance. Clear bags move through fastest; small backpacks are fine. No glass. A water bottle, layers (the park gets windy and cool by late afternoon), sunscreen, and a small blanket if you want to sit. **Hello Ocean Lovers,** Let's meet up go for a Green Exercise Wellness Hike at Lands End Trail, meet new friends and get a good workout together. Enjoy Ocean air and Healing Sea for our physical Health and Mental well-being Lands End Trail is a favorite among both locals and visitors alike! This trail explores the historic Sutro Baths and offers great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. A must see for any visitor to San Francisco. **Lands End San Francisco** The Coastal Trail at Lands End in San Francisco is a gorgeous spot for hiking, but most visitors to the city don't know it's there. Early History San Francisco was originally inhabited by the Ohlone Indians. An archeological site at Lands End was dated at 150 A.D., but there is evidence that Indians had been living in San Francisco for around 3,000 years. They had seasonal camps where the Sutro Baths ruins are now, eating seafood and hunting seals; archeologists found their garbage dumps, more politely known as middens. Hiking the Lands End Trail The Lands End Coastal Trail is walkway that starts just above the Cliff House, then winds in and out of the woods and along the edge of the bluffs, and ends in a ritzy residential area (Sea Cliff) near China Beach. Lands End Trail The way down is quite steep, but there is a stairway to follow. It's a small, rocky beach, good for relaxing and watching the breaking waves, but too rough (and cold) for swimming. Mile Rock Beach Another branch of the same path will take you down to the mini-beach, Mile Rock Beach, at the foot of Lands End Point. Mile Rock Beach-Tiny, but cool! **Note:** The subject tour is of one of the great works of architecture, art and art display in history. It was all created in San Francisco's Marina District, all built in only the two years of, 1913 & 1914. The PPIE ran from Feb.1915 to Dec. And then it vanished. Aside from Bernard Maybeck's Palace of Fine Arts, the re-creation of the California Palace of the Legion of Honor.and some remaining statues and sculptures, all we have left are photos, drawings and written descriptions and accounts of what was there in 1915. But the land this was all on is still there and accessible (except for the Doyle Dr. entry ramp area). By combining the land with the eupherma mentioned above we can virtually recreate in our minds eye what was here. So it is not lost if we don't want it to be! The first tours will develop a summary view that will enable more detailed tours come later. Join in this journey into something very special in the worlds of art and architecture. (An idea conceived by Willis Polk in 1891, that eventually had to overcome not only the devastating 1906 Earthquake and Fire, (which made San Franciscans even more determined to have the Exposition), but the start of World War I in Europe. A quarter of million attended opening day and almost twice that many closing day. Imagine how you would spend your day there in 1915. That's what our tour will attempt to do. As we walk a likely route, we would have chosen in 1915. We'll read descriptions of and look at photos of what was along our route. They were making a statement, in letting the world know, that they had successfully survived the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. In fact some very wealthy San Franciscans built mansions in Pacific Hts. just to overlook the PPIE.
