Our next Genentech Hall event will be on **Sunday** August 9th! We usually have 2-3 games going on, there will always be a circle for any newcomers! We expect about 30-40 people to RSVP on Discord. Let us know if there is any particular script you want to play or if you want to storytell! **Please review and be familiar with our [best practices](https://docs.google.com/document/d/15WL2Da0003h5V-5p_JRNxjJ_gLsl2KKFzkfxyNM7K6E/edit?usp=sharing).** Call 510-457-1355 or ping Felicia (@crimson_flowers), Lily (@lilyblep) or Jim/ddz (@ddz7137) on Discord in the event thread if you need to get in or are lost. Make sure to have us added as friends as we don't get notifications for friend requests. A good number of attendees arrive between 11:00-11:30, but people come and go throughout the day, so feel free to show up and leave whenever you like - no need to be there for the whole day. If you text or call us, please give your Meetup/Discord name (some people both call and message on Discord and it's unclear whether we've already picked them up or not). Please come to the side entrance (not the main entrance) when you search for 1705 Owens St on Google Maps. You need badge access to enter so contact us to get inside. See [these images](https://imgur.com/a/roVuZ3S) for entrance location and parking details. There will be snacks and drinks and feel free to order food. The area has free and paid parking. Free parking is around a 5 min walk from Genentech Hall (near Mississippi and 17th). Join the [California Clocktower discord](https://discord.gg/ACwrXxtWyY) for more events!

You’ll find it on a little side street in San Francisco’s old Latin Quarter somewhere between Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf and endless Italian late night cafes." > Robin Williams took to the stage here and said “This place is amazing, this is the kind of place that would make even the Amish dance” > To celebrate our 25th year in Peña Pachamama we have performances CARNAVAL SATURDAYS. From buttery croissants to seasonal scones, everything is baked with care and flavor transparency.* (from restaurant website) **Minutiae** Newly opened in the base of the Argenta Apartments, they have a light pub menu and large alcohol selection, along with creative mocktails. I'll host three rounds of trivia questions, this is the first time, so please be patient. The overall theme will be food and restaurant related, with an emphasis on the San Francisco Bay Area. **History** When started, Beloved Dishes, Current Chef and Current Owner from restaurant website **Chef and Owner:** **Menus and Reviews** [Bar and Bean Fusion](https://www.barbeanfusion.com/) [Bar and Bean Fusion (Yelp*)](https://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-and-bean-fusion-san-francisco-2) **Administratriva** Estimated Cost is $35 - $50, entrees cost less than $30. *Dress is smart casual* **Taxes and Restaurant Fees** Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and probably an employee health mandate (3-10%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added, even on individual bills, if not we expect a 20% minimum tip to be paid for individual bills. We will try to get separate checks, but remember to bring cash. Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs but we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly. Please bring cash or have Zelle or Apple Cash available. **Transportation to Bar and Bean Fusion** MUNI: JKLMN, F, 7, 9, 49 Finding street parking on Market is usually difficult. *Parking garages can be found nearby* *Use event comments for Car Pooling and Ride Sharing.* *Many thanks for the photos and history from restaurant website* **#EatSanFrancisco #SanFranciscoFoodies #SFFoodies** *We Look Forward to Seeing you at This and Other San Francisco Foodies Events*

\*Please sign up on Luma: [https://luma.com/ruft92qf](https://luma.com/ruft92qf) SaaS is convenient right up until you need your data out, your vendor raises prices, or you need to connect internal systems. Bring Your Own Cloud splits the difference: the vendor runs the control plane, you keep the data plane in your own account. We'll go deep on design: how the control plane reaches into your VPC, where the shared responsibility line actually falls, leveraging open source databases, and cost reduction tricks that don't kill performance. Our speakers have built BYOC systems at every layer of the stack and will show the plumbing and failure modes. Come with hard questions. Bring your own cloud. Food and drinks included 🍻 *PS.
