B&B 1st THURSDAY for T1 Diabetes (watch for location!)

Hi All, Hope you can come to the all-you-need-to-know about type 1 diabetes and all-the-type 1s-you-need-to-know meeting! And what better way with beer & pizza? Katie Craft from USCF Diabetes, Julia Philips from DYF, and I are co-hosting the E Bay Beer & Basals meeting. This is the former CarbDM "B&B" which we are continuing due to popular demand. Come to find out about the newest in diabetes technologies, devices, insulins, as well as practical tips and tricks for living our best lives. DIY Loop & DIY iAPS system users are welcome, although you don't have to be using any specific system or brand. All are welcome! It's a fun evening with other T1s, significant others, friends, and family. The meeting is a casual, 'gather-around' format. If specific topics are requested and can't be answered or given enough attention in the B&B meetings we can hold other ones as needed. Aquatic Park - Morning Swim

We host a weekly 5km run every Monday evening, starting and ending at a \*bar in or near the Mission District. We keep a moderate pace so no one runs alone – it's a fun run, not all-out. It is, however, recommended that you are able to run around 3 miles (5Km) consistently but if that's an issue, bring a buddy along or shorten the route to your liking. Join for a drink/snack/chat after the run -- we love to meet our neighbors!

We're trying to bring an old Edwards sputtering machine back to life! Everyone has varying levels of experience with vacuum and deposition technologies from decades of work in industry to "I just read the wikipedia article and sputtering sounds neat" Come hang out and help us get to first plasma and then hopefully full sputtering soon after!

Sante Adairius Oakland Arbor Lake Merritt Run

We'll be at one of California's best breweries, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (SARA). We will meet at SARA's Oakland taproom (The Arbor) and run a 5k (or 4.56 miles - your choice), and then return for drinks and snacks (available inside the bar). For the 5k, we will run 1.55 miles out to near the cathedral and turnaround back to SARA. The 5-miler will take us around the lake and back. Although the meeting time is at 6:30pm, we don't start the actual run until around 6:40pm. We will meet in the space located directly behind the bar. This is accessible by going through the bar and walking past the back patio or you can simply walk around the building. Like several places in Oakland, there are car break-ins in the area, and so, please do not leave anything in your car to tempt the thieves. We'll have someone watching our stuff at Sante Adairius while we're running. The Arbor is located near 12th Street BART, plenty of street parking (plus a secured parking spot next to the bar available for a fee), and there's plenty of bike parking. The bar is dog friendly. Like all runs, we will do our best to prevent people from getting lost (verbal directions are often provided beforehand and/or QR code with directions is printed), and we are very flexible when it comes to pace and distance.
