For those of you who haven’t been, Mother Tongue is a small, woman and Latin-x owned roaster that puts out some nice coffee. We’ll be going to their cafe in Oakland to enjoy a drink. As per usual, feel free to bring beans that you’re drinking and really enjoying and a few bags if you’d like to trade some coffee with others. Can’t wait to see everyone!

Coffee, Pups & New Friends

Hey loves! Join us for Coffee, Pups & New Friends around Lake Merritt. Dogs are the easiest icebreakers in the world, so we're making them the theme. Bring your pup (or borrow the excuse to meet everyone else's) and leave with a new friend. No dog? No problem, you're completely welcome. We meet at 10 AM at Motivat Coffee Roasters (formerly Slojoy), 1528 Webster St, near 19th St Oakland BART. Grab a coffee, then we walk the flat 3.4-mile loop around the lake together at an easy pace. Plan for about 2.5 hours, and anyone who wants to keep hanging out can join an optional brunch at Grand Lake Kitchen after. Dogs stay leashed, and bring water for both of you. Wear layers and come as you are. Getting there: Taking BART: Exit at 19th St. Oakland BART (dogs in carriers). Motivat Coffee Roasters (1528 Webster St, formerly Slojoy) is 2 blocks away. Driving and parking: Street meters on Webster and Harrison St are FREE on Sundays until 12:00 PM! Just snap a photo of your meter's ParkMobile zone number when you park at 10:00 AM so you can add time from your phone at noon ($3/hr) while we're out on the lake. For all-day lot parking, 1520 Harrison St is one block over. As always in Oakland, please leave zero bags or visible items in your car. See you and your furry plus-ones out there!

Coffee Hopping in Downtown Palo Alto

Think bar hopping, but instead of beer, we're trying different types of coffee! I'm a caffeine fiend who loves trying seasonal lattes and taste testing different coffees, so I thought it'd be fun to get a group together and go coffee hopping! Downtown Palo Alto has a bunch of coffee shops within walking distance, so we'll spend the morning exploring different cafés, trying new drinks, and getting to know each other. We'll meet at **Coupa Cafe on Lytton Avenue** and make our way around downtown from there! No need to buy something at every stop. Feel free to come alone or bring a friend! ☕🤎

Please read carefully as there is new info here. This event meets 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. **This week we are meeting at Cafe Hopkins, previously known as Cafe Espresso Roma in Berkeley. We will meet at the first available long table outside or at the long tables under the canopy depending upon availability. We hope new people will become regulars to this social group, Do not attend if you are on the waitlist as this is causing the crowd to get too large. Sign up early as seating is limited at the cafe. If you show up and are not on the going list you will be asked to leave or sit somewhere else. Three no shows will get you removed from the group so please change your RSVP if you cannot make it and give someone on the waitlist a chance to come. Please don’t do this at the last minute unless it’s an emergency. We will initially allow 10 members on the going list and then we will be adding people from the waitlist balancing out the event by gender. We will be posting the coffee meetups month by month to give more of the newcomers a chance to sign up and get a spot. Moving forward we will talk to the owners about providing enough chairs for the long tables and not just the smaller ones.
