Hello Everyone, **Please bring along any board or card games that can easily be played in a café, as I won’t be able to provide games myself.** Join us for a relaxed and welcoming afternoon of table games, coffee, and good company with like-minded people. This event will run alongside my **Crafternoon Tea gathering**, so feel free to also bring along any crafts, reading, colouring, journaling, or other creative projects you’re working on and of course Games I look forward to meeting you. Book shop exploring (Camden Town → Turnell Park)

In the digital age💻📡📱, do you still like getting a physical book to read? Where do you buy them? Amazon? Waterstone? Blackstone? How about join us for a bookshop crawl, let's try to find some hidden gems of independent bookshops. (Or just tag along for a chat😁) Find out more book shops to try, this time we will be going to further north in London than usual. We will meet at Camden Town tube station, then walk along mostly along the main road to Tufnell Park station. There will be 7 book shops in total, never been to most of them, so it will be some new experience for me as well. Upon finishing, we can find somewhere to sit and chat about books. The two hour time is just a guidance, some shops take longer and some are less. If you ever want to stay in one shop for longer (I know, been there, done that😂) feel free to do so, you can join us at other shops. Faversham to Whitstable

A most wonderful 10 mile walk linking these two delightful coastal Kent towns and one of the group's most popular walks. Meeting by BOOTS please arrive by 9am for everyone to buy group train tickets for the 9.40am train that arrives at Faversham at 10.49am. Return train ticket : Whitstable. Or you may decide to drive. The walk shall commence by 11am. Meetup fee £8 payable in cash or £6 by Friday by bank transfer, details supplied upon request. No PayPal. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes / trainers. Also sunglasses, sun cream and sunhat. You should have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk at 2.5 miles per hour. We shall have a drink at the end of the walk at a pub right on the beach. We shall aim to take the train back at either 4.50pm or 6.28pm from Whitstable as some way well stay on due to the allure of fish and chips eaten on the beach as the sun goes down. Rye Coastal and River Circular

An amazing day on the south coast walking 9 miles walking by Camber Castle and the beach culminating in a lovely walk by the River Bede with a visit to historical town of Rye and the amazing Mermaid Street ! Please arrive by 9.40am to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets for the train at 10.07am that arrives at Rye at 11.46am changing at Ashford International. Train ticket : return to Rye Or you may decide to drive. The walk shall commence by noon. We shall take the 5.48pm train back that arrives in London at 6.54pm after changing at Ashford International. Westgate on Sea to Broadstairs

A most wonderful 8.5 to 9 mile Kent coastal walk that takes in Botany Bay finishing in delightful Broadstairs. There shall be time to have a swim at Broadstairs. Meet at 9am to buy group return train tickets for the train at 9.40am that arrives at Westgate on Sea at 11.19am. Ticket : return to Broadstairs Or you may decide to drive. Walk starts at around 11.30am. We shall have lunch in Margate. Likely train back from Broadstairs at 4pm but you may wish to take a later train back. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket, walking shoes or trainers and suncream, sunhat and sunglasses. A beautiful 9 to 10 mile walk in the delightful Kent hilly countryside and woodlands ! Please arrive by 10.20am to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets for the train at 10.55am that arrives at Kemsing at 11.37am. Train ticket : return to Kemsing Or you may decide to drive. The walk shall commence by 11.45am. We shall have a drink towards the end of the walk. Coffee Chats In The Sun: Have The Under 20s Become Really Boring?

Time is precious. Here we value non-boring valuable chats and interactions that are fully engaging, soulfully enriching, inspiring, and leave you a bit wiser than when you arrived. In that spirit, today’s hosted laid back social coffee chat will offer a perfect haven for the inquisitive & curious to share views on the following intriguing observation. Growing up in the west - before the 2020s - Friday and Saturday nights meant going out with your mates for highly sociable enjoyable fun things like music, dancing/clubbing, drinking, eating, comedy, singing, being silly random conversations and banter with strangers you'd meet out and about 100% organically. Taking drugs even. Tuesdays and Thursdays was about doing the same stuff but with work collegues hence the workplace was a place to make new lifelong friends. Weekend daytimes were for doing healthier but socially fun stuff like playing sports, pub lunches, visting galleries/museums, theatre and watching movies together at the Cinema or around a mate's house. Fast‑forward 2026 - it feels like everything changed: Despite public transport running all night (it wasn't when I was in my teens/early 20s yet my peer group stayed out proper late most weekends) - on a Sat night "young" people head home at 10.30pm, skip the dance floor for board games, avoid bar banter, jokes and rarely engage in organic spontaneous chats with strangers. Whatsmore the stats are wild — data show virginity rates among men hitting record highs by age 30, social anxiety and social skills off-the charts. So what's happened? We’ll explore questions like: * Is this just nostalgia talking, or has something genuinely shifted? * Why has typical multi generational fun pastimes (1950s to 2010s) lost its spark for the 20‑somethings? * How much does health, economics, mobile phones, social media and gaming explain the trend? * Are certain professions (like tech/IT) changing the social landscape, or just attracting already‑very introverted people? * Why are some stats so **contradictory**? Think higher reported male virginity rates by 30 alongside rising STI rates in young people. Despite tanking alcohol sales - UK alcohol related death rates per capita are still rising. What's going on? * Target audience demographics for mainstrream commericial pop music radio stations (Capital, Kiss etc) is still 18 to 24 suggesting young people still consume music and other popular culture but are not going out to enjoy it. Why? * Is it harder for younger people to make genuine friends today and if so why? * Dancing is natural to all of us - every kid moves instinctively to music. So beyond a less joyous social life what happens when these innate behaviours get suppressed as adults? What has this healthy exercise and creative expression been replaced with? * AI is predicted to take over technical job and tasks - the most future‑proof skills will be things like interpersonal skills & emotional intelligence built through real‑world socialising. Employers already complain that young people lack these skills. How will they get non-AI jobs? * Levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness - particularly amongst men - are at an all time low. Wiill social anxiety worsen further as the introversion trend accelerates? * What does all this mean for dating, relationships, and starting families? Expect lively debate, sharp humour, and a host (a former news journalist) that isn’t afraid to ask awkward questions. Bring your curiosity, your stories, and your caffeine tolerance — we’ll stir the coffee pot on whether the young have really become more boring or have they’re just discovered new fun activities - if so what are they? And if you are in your 20s - I would love to hear your views! FREEBIE FRIDAY Trent Park

A wonderful walk in this most beautiful secluded tranquil and historic park ! We shall set off at 10.45am and walk for about 5 miles. Please bring water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots or trainers. You may either take the tube or drive. From Cockfosters tube station walk past BP petrol station and cemetery then walk the long drive to the cafe. If you drive you should park AT Trent Park carpark ( not Cockfosters tube carpark ) and meet the group at 10.35am by the carpark/cafe. Please only post photos of others with their consent. Let's go with the flow and do this amazing 9 to 10 mile walk in the country lanes in the stunning hilly Surrey countryside! Meetup fee £5 payable on the day or by bank transfer - details supplied by private message. Things to bring : packed lunch, water, snacks etc and waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers. We shall buy group train tickets at 10.05am for the 10.30am ( or 10.45am) train that arrives at Chilworth at 11.45am after changing at Guildford. Train ticket: Return to Chilworth ( via Guildford) Or you may decide to drive. You should have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall stop at a pub at the end of the walk. Train back at 5.35pm from Chilworth that arrives in London at around 6.45pm after changing at Guildford.
