**We're building a new community for people who love to play games: a shared love of tabletop RPGs, board games, hobby chat and good company.** We aim to create a warm, welcoming, and respectful group where people can relax, share interests, and enjoy gaming together. Led by neurodivergent people, we're neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+-affirming. Join us for the first of what we hope will become a regular series of social deduction afternoons at the TSS. And we're kicking things off with Blood on the Clocktower. If you've played the likes of Mafia and Werewolf then you'll love sniffing out who the demon in the group is (unless it's you of course!). During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. At 'night' time, players close their eyes and some are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill. Writing Group (LIVE at the All Good Bookshop)

We're the All Good Bookshop writing group - we've been around for 10 years now. We offer writing feedback and discussion, whatever your level. Never been before? That's fine. Can only come once in a while? That's fine. Want to come regularly? That's fine. While we're predominantly narrative-based, any type of writing is welcome. Fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, novels, short-stories... bring it along and see if it fits. The cost is £5 to join us. Half of this goes to the bookshop and the other half goes towards snacks/drinks for everyone. Pay when you get there. (If you're having any financial problems, feel free to have a discreet chat with Chris about it). HOW IT WORKS First, we do introductions, which cover: 1 - Who you are 2 - What kind of thing you write 3 - What you're working on 4 - What you've done in the last two weeks. Then we find out who has stuff to read out (1,000 - 2,000 words), and who has questions/discussion points. If you'd prefer to do written hand-outs, you can as well. We then run through as many people as we can fit in, so they can read out or run through a discussion point. The group is run by Chris Brosnahan, an experienced writer and a long-running facilitator of writing groups. HOUSE RULES 1 - No egos. Everyone's stuff is up for criticism/feedback. 2 - Be constructive. We're not a review group - we're trying to help each other improve. 3\. No pressure\. You can turn up and just observe if you want \- you're not under pressure to read out or feed back\. 4 - We do our best to be a safe space. You don't know the backgrounds of everyone in the room. If you're going to read something that might be problematic or emotionally difficult, talk about it first - and if you're unsure, ask. 5 - We do our best to be a safe space. For particularly graphic scenes, please discuss in advance. A reminder that listening to erotica is, in itself, a sex act, and needs the enthusiastic consent of everyone involved. 6 - Content warnings apply. This doesn't just mean things like sex or violence. It also includes things like abuse, long-term illness, death - think of things that someone may find difficult if they're dealing with at the moment. LEVITICUS (2026) + DRINKS @ VUE

Details on getting tickets for movie + pre drinks below. **PREMISE** In writer-director Adrian Chiarella’s indelible debut feature, queer desire is not only a danger to one’s safety from the bigots that you live, work and pray with, but it’s also a supernatural affliction. We first see teens Naim (Joe Bird) and Ryan (Stacy Clausen) as they engage in a clandestine hang, that familiar dance of a play-fight leading into a kiss. For Naim, it’s a new world opening up, a reason to believe there might be something to be happy about in an otherwise dull new town with his warm yet clueless single mother (Mia Wasikowska). But when Naim sees Ryan engaging in a similar tryst with Hunter (Jeremy Blewitt), the son of the local preacher, he allows his heart to overrule his head and does something he’ll live to regret. Once their secret is out in the open, Ryan and Hunter are forced into a conversion-therapy ritual, led by a mysterious outsider. The boys initially laugh it off, rolling their eyes at his hokum, but something takes ahold of them and once it’s over they realise they’ve been cursed. In the world of Leviticus, the threat looks exactly like the person you desire the most, your No 1 crush wanting to crush your head in. No one else can see it and it only comes to you when you’re alone but it will keep coming until you’re dead. It’s a crafty spin on an often lazily derivative sub-genre – what if your queer desire had a demonic manifestation – and speaks to a familiar deep-rooted fear. It’s not only about the self-destruction such feelings might bring, but also what horrors you might inflict on someone else as well. If the feeling is mutual, you know you’ll be the last face they’ll see before they die, a cruel tragedy warping love to hate. Like It Follows, which it owes a heavy debt to, it can also be viewed as a story about HIV/Aids and the devastation that can come from desire. This feeling might kill us both, but how can we deny it? It lends the film not only a piercing sadness but also a swell of giddy, against-all-odds romance (love might actually tear us apart, but what if it’s worth the risk?). It would be too easy and too of the moment to dwell in the grim trauma of the story but, when ears aren’t being sliced and heads aren’t being decapitated, Chiarella leans into the epic star-crossed swoon of the story. Visually, he’s as adept at capturing the chilly horror of isolation as he is at capturing the soft-hued buzz of togetherness. Bird and Clausen have a sweet first-love chemistry in their scenes together, eyes darting around to check for safety followed by the warm rush of relief when they realise they just might be OK (an illicit bus handjob is as terrifying as any of the nasty attacks). It also makes us root for their survival even if we fear that might not be possible. While Chiarella sets up a formula we know well, he also tries to subvert it. So yes, there might be a scene where the characters try and track down the conversion therapy “healer” but no, it doesn’t go how you expect. He also avoids obvious Bible-thumping horror stereotypes with his portrayal of the town’s religious community, realising there’s something far scarier about vile homophobia emerging from warmer, seemingly well-meaning folk such as Naim’s loving mother – a reliably excellent, if underused, Wasikowska – who is painted as more than just a Carrie’s mother in Carrie-level zealot. Even at a wonderfully concise 86 minutes, the last act runs out of steam a little (as a longtime fan of The Thing, even I got a tad tired of the familiar “No, it’s me!” repetition), but then Chiarella manages to stick the landing quite perfectly. It’s a bold and bittersweet endnote sold with the help of a soaring song choice from Frank Ocean, the kind of punchy last scene that has you insisting others make the next screening (at a festival where so many film-makers don’t know how or when to cut to credits, this counts for a lot). In many increasingly overcrowded fields – trauma horror, curse horror, gay horror, *Sundance horror* – Leviticus stands tall. 'Hyde Park Treasure Hunt' - can you find the treasure?

Come along on Saturday 5th September for treasure hunt around Hyde Park! The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know an area of London whilst meeting new people. **About the area** Hyde Park is a 350-acre, historic Grade I listed urban park. The park was established by Henry VIII in 1536 when he took the land from Westminster Abbey and used it as a hunting ground. It opened to the public in 1637 and quickly became popular, It hosted the Great Exhibition of 1851, many demonstrations and music concerts, featuring groups such as Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and Queen.. **How it works** Come along at 1:30pm and you will be randomly divided into teams of 3 people (or you can choose your own team beforehand). For fairness, any London Guides or Blue Badge Tour Guides won't be allowed to take part. Then each team will be given 15-20 written clues which you have to find the answers for. It's up to your team to work together to find the answers. The answers will be found on blue plaques or statues. You can answer them in any order and you will be provided with a map of the park to help you. It's not a race, so you can take your time getting to know the area. **Prizes** The team to get the most correct answers and then return to base (a local pub or cafe) will win book vouchers for Waterstones bookshops of £10 per person. If more than one team gets the top score, there will be a tie break question back at the pub. Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the brand new board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton. If you haven’t heard of Blood on the Clocktower before it is an evolution of classic party games like Mafia/Werewolf where a hidden evil team takes on the good team by lying and killing. The good team has a few tricks up their sleeve but will have to work together to deduce who the evil doers are in their midst. **This is a beginner friendly event so no experience with the game is necessary.** Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. It is the highest pass in Slovenia as well as the highest in the Eastern Julian Alps. The steep mountain road features plenty of hiking trails, lodges & stunning views along the way. You may see the **magnificent Lake Jasna**, with mountainous landscapes of the Julian Alps and emerald waters. You will not mind the 50 sharp bends since the scenery is breathtaking. There are 2 waterfalls – the pearls of the Slovenian Alpine world under the Špik Mountain, right opposite our hotel Špik. **The Upper Martuljek Waterfall** is especially spectacular, as it descends in three levels over 110m of a vertical wall. **Peričnik Waterfall** is unique because you can walk behind it. We can not miss the **symbol of Slovenia - Lake Bled** and the Vintgar Gorge, where we can walk around and through. We will hike in **the Fusine Lakes** area in Italy, reaching the **Ponza Piccola** ridge bordering Slovenia, having this as a bonus to our trip. It has become a tradition to have lunch in Italy.
