# Chess Sundays at Its Your Move Games **We host a Chess Sundays here at Its Your Move every Sunday from 2-6pm.** It is a casual atmosphere for players of all levels. We play here with and without a clock on tournament style boards. We ask for a $5 table fee which lasts for the whole day, you can pay in [advance](http://www.itsyourmoveoakland.com/web-store-1) or at the door. Players are welcome to use our limited boards, (please bring your own clock and board if you have one). Food and drink is allowed. Every Sunday we also host a **Beginning group chess lesson** from noon to 1pm (first one free- after that $10) and an **Intermediate chess group chess lesson** from 1-2pm for $15. Every Wednesday we host a youth drop in chess after school program. Best for ages 6 through 16 for beginning and intermediate players. Native Plant Nursery Workday

Join the Backyard Nursery Network on the ***fourth Saturday of every month*** and assist us in transplanting, pruning, weeding, seed sowing, and general upkeep of our nursery at McAteer Farm on the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts campus. Nature in the City started the Backyard Nursery Network to preserve native plants like coast buckwheat, seaside daisy, and deer weed as they provide habitat for local species. Growing these plants from resilient native seed genetics ensures the survival of both the endangered plants and our local butterflies, bees, birds, and other wildlife. Most of these plants are going to the Green Hairstreak Corridor planting projects in the Inner Sunset. The workday tasks vary from month to month, but be ready to get your hands dirty! **Getting to the nursery:** * Parking is available in the parking lot off of O'Shaughnessy Blvd. * MUNI lines 44, 48, 52, and 36 all have close-by stops * **From the O'Shaughnessy Blvd. gate:** * Walk along the road * Enter the lower parking lot and find a staircase on the far left side of the parking lot that leads to the track * The nursery is on the far side of the track behind the bleachers. "This is a great place to hike and to enjoy the great views of the Pacifica coastline. There are trails that hug the coastline climb up to the hilltop for panoramic views." Take advantage of the free sunset show only at Mori Point. ROCKAWAY BEACH Watch the sun drop below the horizon at Rockaway Beach. This hidden gem in the Pacifica is a sight to behold. Join the Willard Park Yoga Collective every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday at Willard Park in Berkeley! Friday online! Integrated Hatha Flow classes are based on classical Hatha, mixed with the specializations of each teacher. We flow thoughtfully through poses taking time to notice the nuances, and match movement with breath. Chrissy, Carmen, and Jess integrate somatic modalities and the eight limbs into the yoga practice to increase body and breath awareness, and regulate the nervous system. Finding all of this in the present moment, we aim to foster agency, gratitude, peace, and joy. Teaching outside further deepens the practice by connecting to Nature and the elements. With an emphasis on breath and accessing the present moment, she delights in walking the line between play and prayer. Chrissy strives to honor the origins of yoga while making it accessible to every body. She acknowledges her position as white, able-bodied, and cisgendered, aiming to be inclusive and trauma informed. Her classes are donation based with no one turned away for lack of funds. At the beginning of her ceramics trajectory, working as a studio tech at a college clay studio, she realized she needed to be strong to load kilns and make large batches of clay. The physicality of her art became a driving reason to care for her body and its functional strength and mobility. Strength, agility, balance, flexibility and injury prevention (and recovery) were all things she found her personal yoga practice improved. In 2015 she became a certified 200 HR-RYT through Core Power and in 2021 she received a second 200 HR-RYT from Purusha Yoga. Jess guides a vinyasa flow based practice, with an emphasis on linking breath to movement and being in the present during practice. Jess teaches yoga in Willard Park and on the SF Bay on stand up paddle boards. She owns her own stand up paddleboard company, 510-Waterline, in Richmond, CA. She weaves this body of work into her classes, both covertly and overtly, often teaching about our neurobiology as relates to the eight limbs of Raja Yoga. Her mission as a yoga teacher is to create a safe and supportive environment for her students to explore the eight limbs, while cultivating resiliency and a deeper connection to self. Carmen also co-facilitates wellness retreats, and works individually with clients offering integrative somatic therapy sessions.
