It's Sunrise Season again :-) Watch the sunrise in the company of other people who are up for tiny adventures. Warm up and carry on conversations in a nearby cafe afterwards. (Conversations fuelled by early morning light and coffee tend to be good ones.) **The plan:** * meet at 7AM at the top of **PRIMROSE HILL** * sunrise is at 7:05AM * take in the view for a little while (depending on how cold it is) * walk to a local café on Regents Park Road * warm up with coffee We meet frequently to create and sustain community. New people and visitors are always welcome :-) We will be easy to find because we will be at the top of the hill looking out for early birds. Day trip by coach - Coastal hike, three towns & mini steam train! (NOW FULL)

THE TRIP IS NOW FULL, IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND, ADD YOURSELF TO THE WAITING LIST AND I WILL CONTACT YOU IF A PLACE BECOMES AVAILABLE. Come along on Saturday 26th September to visit the Kent coast for a 5 mile hike, visit three towns and ride the mini steam train! **About the day** We will be heading to the Kent coast to the town of Hythe, then walk 5 miles along the coast to Dymchurch, before catching the mini steam train to Dungeness. We will be able to spend some time in all three towns. **Hythe** Hythe is an old market town with both medieval and Georgian buildings, as well as a Saxon/Norman church on the hill. Its seafront is mainly Victorian. It offers stunning views across Southampton Water and is known for its historic pier. We will then walk 5 miles along the coast to Dymchurch (alternatively, you can catch a local bus number 102 to Dymchurch). **Dymchurch** Dymchurch sits at the very edge of the Romney Marshes and played a vital role in defending the coastline, with the Martello Towers and Dymchurch Wall forming part of the Napoleonic sea defences. It has a sand and shingle beach. **Mini Steam Train** From Dymchurch, we will then get the mini steam train to Dungeness. Opening in 1927, the track runs parallel to the coast on a gauge of 15 inches (380 mm). **Dungeness** Dungeness is a unique headland on the coast of Kent, famous as Britain's only desert due to its vast, windswept shingle landscape. It has a collection of old fishing houses and their boats are still visible on the shingle. Kew to Kings: Path to Parliament along the Thames, with tour

**DESCRIPTION** As you might know, I work at the Houses of Parliament, so what better way to end a riverside adventure than right on its doorstep? This 20 km tough hike starts at Kew gardens station and follows the beautiful Thames Path through leafy parks, riverside pubs, and iconic London neighbourhoods, finishing at Westminster. Expect a mix of nature, history, and urban charm. Day trip to Brighton

Brighton is one of the most popular seaside towns in England. It is one of the closest to London with very good train links into Victoria & London Bridge Stations. You will be able to enjoy the beach with all the usual attractions of a seaside town, as well as a Sea Life Centre and very attractive shopping area called “The Lanes”. There is one landmark that stands out in the city and that is the Royal Pavilion, the royal palace built for King George IV when he was Prince of Wales. The design has influences of Indian architecture, which gives it an unusual oriental appearance. We begin our tour at London Bridge station at the lower level ticket office. When we get to Brighton, there will be a guided tour around the city, which will finish at the Royal Pavilion. You will then have free time until we meet to come back to London. The price you pay for the tour includes the train ticket, a guided walk and entry to the Royal Pavilion.

Plumpton to Lewes

An absolutely stunning 10.5 mile walk in the beautiful Sussex countryside and on the South Downs! There will be a hill after lunch and the rest of the walk shall be a little undulating at times. Please arrive by 10.20am so that we can buy group train tickets to Plumpton or use your passes : 10.59am train that arrives at Plumpton at 12.09pm after changing at Haywards Heath. Return train ticket : Lewes The walk shall commence at around 12.15pm. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and trainers/boots/walking shoes. You should be able to walk 2.5 miles an hour on the flat and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. We shall have a drink around lunchtime and aim to take the train back at around 5.30pm. Meet up fee £5 payable in cash or in advance by bank transfer. Day trip to the Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful areas of England. It’s made up of lovely towns and villages that look amazing in springtime when the flowers are out. We take the train to Moreton in Marsh and after a quick look around, take a local bus to Stow on the Wold and later Bourton on the Water, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds. This is the perfect time to visit. It is a trip you do not want to miss!!

A charming 9 mile walk in the beautiful Kent countryside encompassing Meopham the longest village in England, its iconic village cricket green and the delightful woods and countryside surrounding Cobham. Lets go with the flow ! We shall buy group return train tickets at 10am for the train at 10.42am that arrives at Sole Street at 11.32am. Train ticket : Return to Sole Street Or you may decide to drive. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc, waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall take the train back to London from Sole Street at 4.32pm changing at Bromley South and Orpington. We shall have coffee or a drink around lunchtime. Cockfosters, then, literally means the home of the chief or head forester. The modernist Tube station, part of the northern extension to the Piccadilly lined, was designed by Charles Holden and opened in 1933, is a key landmark as is the stately, Grade II-listed property [Trent Park](http://www.trentcountrypark.com/) which is located on a remnant of Enfield Chase. Trent Park dates back to the fourteenth century when it was a part of Enfield Chase, one of Henry IV’s hunting grounds. In 1777 George III leased the site to Sir Richard Jebb, his favourite doctor, as a reward for saving the life of the King’s younger brother, the then Duke of Gloucester. Jebb chose the name Trent, because it was in Trent, Italy, that the King’s brother had been saved.
