The flex ticket gives us a wide arrival window, which means
nobody has to rush lunch.

**11:45 AM — MEET AT PENN STATION**
Meet near the 8th Ave Subway on the LIRR level, then
we'll walk through Moynihan Train Hall together.
**12:20 PM — ARRIVE AT EDGE, CHECK IN ON LEVEL 4**
Enter The Shops at Hudson Yards at 10th Ave & 33rd St and take
the elevators to Level 4 for Edge check-in. Expect a security
screening — normal bags are fine, no glass bottles, sealed clear
plastic water bottles only. Outside food and drink is NOT allowed inside
Edge
**12:30 PM — EDGE NYC / LUNCH or SNACK at the CAFE**
Your ticket covers the whole journey. It starts on Level 4 with
seven indoor immersive installations — Prism, Pulse, Skyrise,
Reflections, Kaleidoscope, Infinite City, and Crystal Cave. Expect
to spend 30-60 minutes here depending on how much you explore.
Then a 52-second elevator ride to Level 100 and the outdoor sky
deck — the highest in the Western Hemisphere, about 1,100 feet up.
Highlights are the glass floor, the angled glass walls you can
lean into, the Skyline Seats, and 360-degree views.
**LUNCH AT THE TOP: Skyline Bar & Café is on Level 100,**
walk-up, no reservation needed. This is our lunch stop and we're
building real time in for it — plan to sit down and eat properly
rather than grabbing something on the move.
If heights are a concern: the seven indoor installations are the
bulk of the experience and none of them require looking out a
window. You can do the whole indoor journey, step onto the deck
briefly or not at all, and skip the glass floor entirely — it's a
spot you walk past, not something you have to cross.
**2:30 PM — BOARD THE HIGH LINE AT 10TH AVE & 30TH ST**
Short walk south from the Edge exit. Stairs and an elevator at
this entrance.
We'll stay on the High Line the entire way down to 16th Street —
about three quarters of a mile. On a weekend afternoon with a
group and stops, realistically 45-55 minutes. The path narrows to
near single-file in places and this is its busiest window, so
we'll go at whatever pace the crowd allows.
The High Line is a park built on an abandoned elevated freight
rail line. You'll see the original tracks embedded in the walkway
throughout.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR ALONG THE WAY:
The High Line Plinth (at our entrance, on the Spur at 30th St)
A dedicated platform for major rotating sculpture commissions.
Whatever's up there is the current headline installation.
The Wildflower Field (through the high 20s)
The densest and most naturalistic planting on the park. This
section deliberately recreates the self-seeded landscape that
grew wild on the abandoned tracks and inspired the design.
The 26th Street Viewing Spur
Easy to miss. A steel frame cut into the railing that turns the
avenue below into a framed picture. Worth stopping for.
The 23rd Street Lawn
The only real patch of turf on the High Line, with seating.
Good spot to let everyone catch up if we've spread out.
10th Avenue Square & Overlook (17th St)
An amphitheater built into the deck with bleacher seating and a
glass wall looking straight down 10th Avenue. On a clear day you
can see the Statue of Liberty from the top row. Best five-minute
sit on the route.
**3:15 PM — EXIT AT 16TH ST, ARRIVE CHELSEA MARKET**
Stairs and an elevator at the 16th Street exit, which puts us
right at the market's door.
Chelsea Market is a food hall in a former Nabisco
factory (this is where the Oreo was invented). Since we'll have
had lunch at the Edge, this is a browse-and-snack stop, not a
meal. Wander the stalls, pick up something small, and save room
for the ice cream later.
Los Tacos No. 1 — the crowd favorite, line moves fast
The Lobster Place — raw bar and seafood
Seed + Mill — halva and tahini soft serve
Li-Lac Chocolates — NYC's oldest chocolate house
Artists & Fleas — vintage and handmade goods in the back
Plan to eat and browse until about 4:00
**4:00 PM — HEAD TO THE SUBWAY**
Walk east on 16th to 8th Avenue, then down to the 14th St station.
About 8 minutes.
Take the A or C train DOWNTOWN two stops to Spring Street, then
about a 3-minute walk east to 558 Broadway.
**4:15 PM — MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM**
558 Broadway, SoHo. Twelve-plus interactive installations across
three floors, unlimited ice cream samples as you go, a three-story
indoor slide, a pink subway car, and the famous Sprinkle Pool.
This is dessert! Unlimited ice cream samples are included as you
work through the installations, so arrive with room.
Plan on about an hour. Wear something you don't mind getting a
little sticky, and note that the Sprinkle Pool requires taking
your shoes off.
**ABOUT 5:30 PM — HEAD HOME**
Walk to the Prince Street station and take the N or R UPTOWN to
34th St-Herald Square, then walk west to Penn Station. About 15
minutes total.
There's no hard end time — anyone who wants to peel off earlier or
stick around SoHo for dinner afterward is welcome to.

\- Sealed water in a CLEAR PLASTIC bottle if you want to bring
one into Edge. No glass bottles — they'll be confiscated.
\- Sunscreen and a hat\. The High Line has very little shade and
the Edge sky deck is fully exposed.
