Fall Foliage Hike: Rosendale to New Paltz

Come join us as we head north to **Rosendale, NY** for a fall foliage walk over the **[Rosendale Trestle](https://www.openspaceinstitute.org/places/rosendale-trestle)** and connecting to the **[Wallkill Valley Rail Trail](https://wallkillvalleylt.org/wvrt/)** that will take us to New Paltz for a total of about 15 MILES mostly FLAT hike 😊 **GETTING THERE:** Trailways bus out of NY's Port Authority Bus Terminal that goes to **Rosendale**. * **The 7AM NYC bus arrives in Rosendale at 8:50AM**. One-way bus ticket is $32.00 (depends on how early you buy the ticket). Fall Foliage Hike at Mohonk Preserve

**It's the most wonderful time of the year - FALL FOLIAGE! Come join us as** we take a hike at **[Mohonk Preserve](https://www.mohonkpreserve.org/who-we-are/)** reachable on Trailways bus out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal going to New Paltz. **AGENDA:** We will hike the East Trapps Connector Trail at [Mohonk Preserve](https://www.mohonkpreserve.org/visit/trailheads/) which is a strenuous 0.25-mile singletrack path made of stone steps that climbs uphill from the Visitor Center to the carriage road network. This is a scenic hike under dramatic cliffs and seeing rock climbers work the rock face while you keep both your feet on the trail :) Trail will loop back to the West Trapps Connector Trail taking you back to the Visitor Center. **GETTING THERE:** We're taking the **Trailway bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal.** The 8:30am bus arrives in New Paltz by 10:05am. One-way ticket is $25.00 (depends on how early you buy the ticket). **Game Day Returns at La Diaspora** Game Day, a community favorite since 2008, is officially back after its hiatus and we’re celebrating its return at **La Diaspora**. Enjoy **all‑day happy hour**, a **full food and drink menu**, and a fun, social atmosphere built for game lovers. Please note: **a card is required for all tabs**, and **tax & gratuity will be added**. Each attendee will have a **minimum spend of $20**. REVERSE Saunter Stretch Series - Stretch #2 (Day 2)

Over three consecutive days, Tuesday through Thursday, we'll walk the iconic 32-mile Great Saunter path in reverse (counterclockwise), circumnavigating Manhattan Island up the East Side and down the West Side. This is Stretch #2 of the series, approximately 11 miles and about 5 hours at a moderate pace. Because we are walking the route in reverse order, the next and final walk will be Stretch #1 on Thursday, October 15. On Wednesday, we begin at 125th Street and Park Avenue and walk around the northern tip of Manhattan to the West Side. Join us for all or part of the walk; there will be drop-out points throughout the route. Meet inside the Harlem-125th Street Metro-North station (125th Street and Park Avenue) at 10:00 a.m. for a prompt 10:15 a.m. departure. We'll walk along the Harlem River to Inwood Hill Park, where we will break for lunch (restrooms will be available) before heading south to the Little Red Lighthouse, then through Fort Washington Park to Riverbank State Park. The walk ends at W. 145th Street and Broadway, at the #1 train subway station. Join us for all or part of the walk; there will be drop-out points along the route. Meet at 10:00 a.m. at the entrance to Riverbank State Park at W. 145th Street and Riverside Drive. From the #1 subway station at Broadway and W. 145th Street, walk down the hill on W. 145th Street to the park entrance. We'll use the restrooms in Riverbank State Park and begin walking promptly at 10:15 a.m. From Riverbank State Park, we'll walk south through Riverside Park to Hudson River Park. Our lunch break will be at W. 42nd Street. Restrooms are available at the lunch stop. The walk ends at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
