There is multiple time slots available throughout the day and we are inviting both published and protoypes, to participate in the event. Whale Watching: Bondi Junction to La Perouse!!! 17km Medium

**Whale Watching Day!!! Bondi Junction to La Perouse 17km (Medium)** We meet at **Bondi Junction Train Station**, at **Bus Interchange F**, by **9:40AM** to catch the **350 Bus direct to Coogee Beach**, and strike out for **Maroubra Beach**, where we have a quick bathroom break. We then head into the amazing **Malabar Headland Walk**, for amazing views out to the **Tasman Sea** and, hopefully, plenty of Whales! We stop for lunch, about 8KM in, at the pleasant beachfront park (with clean bathrooms!) at Malabar Beach. **PLEASE BRING YOUR LUNCH, LIMITED FOOD OPTIONS HERE.** After lunch we have 9KM to go, working around **Long Bay Goal and Little Bay** and onto the spectacular **Botany Bay National Park** for a grandstand finish through to **La Perouse**! A high frequency bus service runs back to the CBD. The ocean front scenery on this walk is stunning! Hopefully we will spot **Humpback whales** during the day; it is likely that we will. We should arrive La Perouse **by 4:00PM**. **Distance:** 17KM **Type of Walk:** This wonderful walk is full of rich variety with fantastic ocean views all the way! **Difficulty:** Medium, because of the distance. **Walking Pace:** We will average 4.5KM per hour. **Meeting Place and Transport:** We meet at **Bondi Junction Train Station**, at by **9:40AM**, at **Bus Interchange Stand F**. ⛰️ This is once a year event from this group. So don’t miss out! ⛰️ 🍂 ⚠️ FOR YOUR SAFETY & ENJOYMENT, PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BELOW FULLY BEFORE YOU CLICK ‘Attend’! 🗓 DATE: Sunday, 4 October 2026. ⏰ MEETING TIME: 10.55am - late start! 🚆 MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Blackheath station at the carpark, Station Street entry/exit. 🥾 DISTANCE: 🚶12 km return from/to Hanging Rock Parking Area to/from Hanging Rock Lookout. 🚶‍♂️OPTIONAL - short walk about 1 km return from/to the carpark to Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave. 🚗 NOTE - a car is required to reach these places. Long way to walk to all of them from the station! 🥾 GRADE: Moderate on a relaxing pace, not snail pace! 💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended due to uneven rocky surfaces, ups and downs hills, stair climbs and a bit of rock scramblings. 💪🏽 Tracks expected to be wet, muddy and slippery at few sections. 📸 WHAT TO EXPECT: 🚆8.24am - train departs Central, arrives at Blackheath station at 10.52am. 🚗 10.55am - meet at Blackheath station carpark, Station Street entry/exit. ℹ️ Meet and greet and short briefing, car pooling arrangement etc. 🅿️ 11.15am - meet in front of the gate at Hanging Rock Parking Area, Ridgewell Road (refer photo no. 3 - Burramoko Fire Trail) about 1.5km or 5 minutes drive from Blackheath station. 🚶‍♂️We will begin our adventure to Hanging Rock, about 12km return from/to the parking area. 🚶‍♂️The walk is fairly easy/moderate mainly on management trails with a fantastic gorge views along Burramoko Ridge (Hanging Rock) trails, in the Grose Wilderness of Blue Mountains National Park. 🤳 This walk is a relaxing day out on a spectacular Baltzer Lookout, with amazing views over the valleys and plenty of photo opportunities. 🧺 We will have BYO lunch at the Hanging Rock whilst soaking up the views. 🥪🧃 🧗🏻‍♂️ If you wish to walk to the end of Hanging Rock, please be aware that you will need to leap over an 80cm gap that plummets down over 20m that separates Hanging Rock from the main cliff! 📝 OPTIONAL - Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave. 🚗 About 9km (one way) or 15 minutes drive from Hanging Rock Parking Area and Blackheath station to Anvil Rock Lookout and Wind Eroded Cave. 🤳 We will spend time for photos and selfies at both places (about 200 metres from each other from the carpark) with awesome views before heading home via Blackheath station. ⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ⚠️ 📝 TERMS & DISCLAIMER: ℹ️ Attending this event is voluntarily at your own risk.
