Away from the hustle of the city, Angel Island offers a retreat to tranquility surrounded by magnificent San Francisco Bay views. This hidden gem is a wonderful destination for fun, adventure, and American history. Experience expansive breathtaking 360 degree views of the bay areaāSan Francisco skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Richmond Bridge, Tiburon, San Francisco, and the bay. Ride on one of our open air trams and learn about the islandās fascinating history like the Civil War buildings and the Immigration Station. Or, take a tour of the Immigration Station Museum for a deeper dive into the island history. Hike or bike all over the island for magnificent views! We will start the hike shortly after 12:00PM. Please make sure no valuables are left or visible in the car to prevent break-in. At 4:30 pm we will start with meet and greet; and each person gets to share 2-3 things that made them happy this week. Please be on time and get to know your new friends during the hike. Depending on the group we will go fast or slow, 4-5 miles. Route to be determined on day of the hike. The hike is scheduled for 2 hours and I will try to get us back by then though occasionally and depending on the group we may be back a little later. Please make sure to bring enough water and clothes and respect for everyone and nature. If you cannot make it, please update your RSVP at least a day in advance of the event so others can join! Please see the route details here: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/fox-coastal-and-tennessee-valley-trail-loop Weāll explore the beauty of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, offering sweeping views of the ocean and the bay. A few notes: * Please arrive on time (10:00 AM). If youāre running late, please comment on the Meetup link, and weāll accommodate within reason. * The hike is unfortunately NOT dog-friendly. :'( * Stopping points will be discussed at the outset to ensure everyone is accounted for. * Please wear appropriate shoes, dress in layers, apply sunscreen, and bring water. * Weāll meet at the trailhead off the parking lot. If the parking lot is full, there is easy parking along the side of Tennessee Valley Road. Hope to see you there!
