Learning to forage for mushrooms is an ongoing life path. In this program, Mikhael will teach you foundational skills to be able to go out foraging on your own. We will cover mushroom anatomy for identification, symbiotic tree and plant relationships, poisonous and edible mushrooms, and forest safety. In Mount Shasta in the spring and summer, it is possible to find edibles such as morels, spring porcini, butter boletes, and more. The program also includes community building, mindful movement, a cooking demo, and a tasting at the end. On May 9/10, Mikhael will be joined by special guest Noodle, the Scent Trained Dog, and her human, Egg, for a special class on mushroom hunting with a canine companion and training them to find mushrooms. Cuteness abounds! (Please note: only Noodle is the only dog we can allow at this class to make sure she can focus.) #### **Where** Mount Shasta area. Exact location provided with registration. He is also an active volunteer with the International Poison Emergency Group as a mushroom identifier.
