Unicycle Club Practice at Circus Center
Mon, Aug 24, 12:00 AMAny skill level is welcome (even if you’ve never been on a unicycle before). Participation is free, but a voluntary donation to Circus Center is recommended. If you don’t have your own unicycle or don’t bring it, then Circus Center will provide one for you to use at these practices. **SAFETY** -Do not attend if you feel sick -Protective gear (helmet, elbow pads, wrist guards, gloves, knee/shin guards, ankle braces, etc.) is highly recommended **REQUIREMENTS** -All ages are welcome, but anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult at all times -Everyone who comes to these practices is required to take at least one unicycle class at Circus Center with Ying Ying Zhao (this doesn’t necessarily have to be before your first practice session) -Paper waiver needs to be signed before participating (this will be provided) -QR code for voluntary donation will be provided **RULES FOR PRACTICING AT CIRCUS CENTER** -If you’re wearing street shoes and/or are bringing your own unicycle, then you must wipe your shoes and unicycle tire with a towel (this will be provided) before stepping on the mats -Helmet is required if you want to do anything other than riding or practicing tricks on a flat surface (hopping onto/off of objects, etc.)

Ride from Brickyard Cove to Richmond Marina, break, and return
Tue, Aug 18, 5:00 PMThis is a fun, easy ride, up the Bay Trail to the Richmond Marina. We follow the trail from Brickyard Cove up to Gilman St., then hug the Bay while we ride behind Golden Gate Fields, and go up and down our one big hill. Then we follow the Bay Trail, up to El Cerrito, hugging the Bay at Costco, and find our way up to Richmond Marina, (hugging the Bay, :) Regroup at Rosie the Riveter,and some of us continue riding to Pt. Richmond, others of us go straight for the coffee break, at a nearby cafe. After the break, we retrace our route, to Brickyard Cove. If you've have made it to the Seabreeze Cafe at the corner of University and Frontage Road, you are almost there. Continue across the unpaved parking lot and you will find us in the paved parking lot for the new park - Brick Yard Cove.

The Bay Ride

The Bicycle Trails Council of East Bay invites you to **JOIN US SATURDAY AUGUST 29th** for a coastal ride to escape the last summer heat! Join us for beautiful coastal scenery (and elevation) **AT** **TENNESSEE VALLEY!** Known for its extended climbs and epic ocean views the scenery is to die for with some groups checking out the beach, the blue whale skeleton or even a bunker or two. Regardless TV makes for a great summer time getaway destination. Meet at the Tennessee Valley Trailhead at 9am. This a popular spot and tight on parking in the lot proper, but there are usually plenty of spots on the side of the road to park as you get closer to the trailhead. As such we generally self-select into 3 skill levels of riders: the beginner group, group C, will ride around 10 miles and 1900 ft of elevation gain; The intermediate group, group B, will ride around 14 miles and 2300 of elevation gain; the advanced group, group A, will ride around 20 miles and 3500 ft of elevation gain. All rides are ‘no-drop’ rides (we won’t leave you behind or let you get lost) and are fully supported BUT . . . * Please note for this a ride **A NOVICE RIDER SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF 10-12 MILES INCLUDING \~2000ft OF CLIMBING FOR 2.5 HRS**. * **E-bikes are LEGAL** but make sure you bring them fully charged! * **BTCEB (Bicycle Trails Council of East Bay)** mission is to educate cyclists in responsible mountain biking, to advocate for appropriate access and to promote community among trail users so all may fully enjoy and preserve the natural spaces of the East Bay. Membership provides funding for our programs and gives us more influence with land managers in getting more access to more places. We work to get more trails made in the East Bay. We help maintain trails within East Bay parks (like Joaquin Miller and Crockett Hills and even Fernandez Ranch!) and we organize fun rides and events for the mountain bike community.
