WHATSAPP LINK BELOW 📳 We take the HBX train that departs from Berlin Gesundbrunnen at 07,02 AM and arrives to Ilsenburg at 10,29 🚉😀 The train is available also in Lichtenberg, Wannsee and Potsdam. I attach the screenshot with all the stations. The train is Deutschland Ticket valid. Once in Ilsenburg station, we take a local bus to save a bit of walking (since the actual Hike will be already very long 😆💯). I attach the screenshot of this bus connection, here the website of the local buses (note: these connections are not present on Google Maps) 🚏: https://www.insa.de/ We then start our Hike and this is the path 🚶‍♀️🚶 The Brocken Mountain is the highest peak in northern Germany ⛰️ with an elevation of 1,142 meters https://www.komoot.com/tour/2936906879 Bring your own food 🍔 and drinks 🥤, we will take breaks where we deem appropriate. IMPORTANT: please consider that the Hike is 24kms with 860 meters of elevation difference, come only if you know that you are physically fit 😊 People who do not want/can make the whole Hike can join and decide to come back earlier without making the whole route 😊 INFO ℹ️ℹ️ Route distance: 24 kms Elevation difference: 860 meters up and 860 meters down (it is a loop) Breaks ⛔: When and where we deem appropriate. A direct train to come back from Ilsenburg to Berlin is available at 17,31 (HBX), but maybe (or even probably) it will be too early for us. We meet in front of Mitte Museum (Pankstraße 47) and visit the museum for an hour. They have two temporary exhibitions at the moment ([Ausstellungen - Mittemuseum](https://www.mittemuseum.de/de/ausstellungen)). Those who want to do only the hike can join an hour later. Having visited the museum, we follow the Panke to the Bürgerpark Pankow. From there we head to the Volkspark Schönholzer Heide and the Park am Wilhelmsruher See. After a break in the park or in one of the cafés nearby, we follow the railway tracks at the Edge of the Märkisches Viertel, that take us out of the city through fields and woods before reaching Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle S-Bahn station. If you need to contact other participants during the hike (for example, to find out where to meet us if you are running late), please use the Signal group link that I will send to all participants via private message few hours before the hike. This timing is intended to prevent non-participants from misusing the link for unwanted advertising, which has happened in the past. Our first stop is a hidden communal garden—a little urban oasis where graffiti, nature, and laid-back Berlin vibes come together. And if we're lucky, we'll be greeted (or even followed!) by the garden's resident cats. 🐱 This was definitely one of my personal highlights. Meeu! 😻 After saying goodbye to our furry friends, we'll continue to Holzmarkt—Berlin's unique creative village built along the Spree. Filled with cafés, bars, art spaces, gardens, and cultural venues. They even have their own Bakery, making fresh bread! A perfect snack ❤️ 🌱 From Holzmarkt, we'll continue our riverside walk towards Nikolaiviertel, Berlin's oldest neighborhood. Old houses, cobbled streets...⛪🏛️⛲ If you'd like, we can make a quick stop at a place where they make the smallest cutest cupcakes! They even have delicious vegan options, and they're almost too pretty to eat!🌱 ❤️ From there, we'll make our way through the city's historic center. Harz Day Trip: Devil's Wall and Witches Mountain

*Journey to the Harz Mountain region, hike along some of the most impressive rock formations, and walk through the magical woodlands, which, according to mythology, are the home of witches and the devil.* Hike Distance: 15km Difficulty: Intermediate Starting in the historical town and UNESCO World Heritage site Quedlinburg, the 15km hikes along the riverfront, alongside the impressive Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall) - a bizarre, jagged, 20-kilometer-long rock formation - and to the centre of the region, Thale. At Thale, we will scale the local mountain with a cable car and descend on foot through the haunted forests. The Harz region can be reached daily using the Harz Express, a direct train that takes us to and from the region. From here, we will take a steady-paced hike through the region, engaging in nature and looking at the region's beauty. Hiking from Quedlinburg to Thale along the Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall) is one of the most rewarding point-to-point hikes in the Harz foothills, as it perfectly pairs Quedlinburg's fairy-tale streets with Thale's rugged gorge scenery, using the most spectacular, dramatic stretch of the ancient sandstone ridge as its highway. The final stretch of the hike takes us down the Hexenstieg, a route famed for its witch monuments, history, and legacy, made famous by the Brothers Grimm. The trip will be led by Lonely Planet author and local beer and wine tour guide Daniel Cole. That’s the Zugspitze, and mid-June is the time to experience it. The snow has been nearly melted and the alpine meadows are bursting with wildflowers. Here’s the thing—this hike isn’t something just anyone can do. All the spots at the iconic **Knorr Hut** have been booked solid for months, but I’ve got us covered. I secured these places well in advance so that you can enjoy this incredible route at the best possible time! **WHAT IS THE PLAN?** * **Day 0 - Meet & Greet:** Relaxed day – we all meet at the hotel in the evening, having late evening dinner, preparing ourselves for next day’s adventures. * **Day 1 (Distance – 20 km)** – Today post breakfast, we would start our journey to hut. The hike itself would go through the Reintal valley. During the hike we would pass the impressive Partnachklamm gorge, the secluded Reintal valley, the Reintalangerhütte and at the evening would approach Knorrhütte. It is possible to have a nice lunch there, at their restaurant, So, you do not need to carry on food with you. During the day we would gain around 1400 meters. * **Day 2 (Hike distance <10 km)** – After the early breakfast at the hut, we would start our hike to summit. Although it is quite short, we would gain another 870 meters to reach the summit at around mid-day. After relaxing at the top and enjoying the pristine beauty of the majestic and mighty mountains, we will use the cable car to go down to the city. Rostock 🏘️🏘️ We take the RE5 trains that departs from Berlin Hbf at 08,46 🚆: the train stops in Südkreuz, Potsdamer Platz and Gesundbrunnen as well (I attach the screenshot with the timetable 🚆🕒) As always: Deutschland Ticket valid. Bring your own food🍔 and drinks🥤for the day: we take few breaks where we can grasp something to take away, but mainly rely on what you bring with you 🙂 **What we visit:** * Kröpeliner Strasse 🏨 and Kröpeliner Tor 🗼 * Marienkirche and Petrikirche ⛪ * Neuer Markt Square 🏘️ (the one in the photo): there we can take our first break and people are free to drink/eat somewhere, relax or walk around * the Promenade along the water * We go to Warnemünde 🌊🌊 taking the local S Bahn * In Warnemünde the famous fish sandwiches are there for us 🐟🥪 * And the beach ⛱️ with the lighthouses ⚓ as well: in Warnemünde we take our second break To come back we can either take the train at 16,54 or 18,54 🚆 (one direct train each 2 hours is present).
