Photo Jam Berlin #02 — Black & White Photowalk

Photo Jam is a photography community built around creative exercises, regular practice, and meeting new people through photography. This walk is dedicated to black and white photography. Working without colour helps us focus more closely on shapes, light, contrast, texture, and composition. It feels like a different photographic medium, and it is something I personally love to practise—so I wanted to make it the theme of our second Berlin meeting. You don’t need any special equipment or previous experience. Bring whichever camera you enjoy using, including your phone, and feel free to shoot directly in black and white or convert your images afterwards. We’ll meet outside the entrance of Go Asia on Friedrichstraße and walk through the city for approximately two hours, generally heading in the direction of Alexanderplatz. This is a moving photowalk, so the finishing point will be different from the meeting point. There is no fixed endpoint: we’ll keep the route spontaneous, follow whatever looks interesting, and finish wherever the walk naturally takes us. Afterwards, anyone who feels like staying can join us for a beer or another drink nearby. Let's go for a walk in Tiergarten and take some nice photos of anything we want. There are no requirements to the equipment or skill level. I have some experience in photography and can give some advice to those who are interested. You can also join if you just want to have a walk regardless of your desire to take photos, but I plan to reasonably wait for others to finish taking photos in different locations. **The meeting point is Tiergarten S-Bahn station. The approximate route is a 6 km long circle which includes these locations:** * **Bellevue Palace** * **Soviet War Memorial** * **Rhododendronhain** * **Denkmal für Karl Liebknecht und Rosa Luxemburg** Smoking, alcohol and drug use are not supported at the event. The event is free, but you are welcome to leave some tips in the end, so I’ll be able to compensate the fees for the organizer subscription.

Inspired by the many other walking clubs, we’ll be walking around 6 km through Kreuzberg, chatting and getting to know new people. 📍 **Meeting point**: Café Ingwer (U8 Schönleinstraße) 🕑 **Time**: 2.00–4.00 pm 🚶 **Route**: approx. 6 km 💬 **Language**: German & English If you’d like, you can grab a coffee, cake or snack beforehand at the vegan Café Ingwer.
