=== THE TOUR === On Saturday I'll drive to Liepnitzsee for a swim and a short picknick on the lake. I have a car and I wouldn't mind some company. We will depart at 09:00 (sharp) and drive to a parking space near the lake. From there it is a 10 minute walk. I have to be back in town by 15:00. Note that the place is remote. There are no facilities. You have to bring everything you need. === WHAT TO BRING === • Swimming wear, towls, etc. • Water, drinks and food • Good mood • 5 Euros for fuel and parking fees === NO-SHOW POLICY === I enforce a zero-tolerance policy on no-shows and last-minute cancellations. Regular group hikers as well as hikers who express genuine intend, could be given priority on the waiting list. We will take brief breaks for refreshments, but don't plan for coffee stops. Please bring your water, snacks, mosquito repellent, and dress suitably for the day's weather. Please make every effort to be on time. Gorinsee swim and circular hike

We will meet at Röntgental Station at 11.46 on the platform (I will be arriving on the S2 leaving Gesundbrunnen platform 4 at 11.26). We will hike approximately 7km to the Gorinsee which is supposed to be one of the warmest lakes in the area and break there for a swim-picnic. Please bring food, water and swim gear if you like to swim. The pace will be relaxed and we aim to finish up at a beergarden (either in Buch or Pankow, but close to an S2 station). The route is mostly hiking path but please wear good walking shoes, and bring sun cream and mosquito spray if needed. We will hike about 15km. See the link for a newly opened cycle route around this one in Wezlow. We will go to Cottbus and head out along the beautiful spree rad weg. Reaching the top of the vast mine area we will then circulate it, climbing viewing platforms, visiting the information centre, learning about the extraordinary history of coal mining in East Germany as well as their plans for a more sustainable future. Expect between 18 and 22 km per hour depending on who comes on the day. Bring a good bike (doesn’t have to be special just in good order. All sports bikes can take part from tour bike, racers to mountain bikes.
