Weekly Hikes at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park

A Sunday at 3;00 PM moderate hike in addition to our regular Wednesday hikes at Redwood Park. This is a mostly shaded, 6 mile, 1000 feet elevation, moderate-paced hike at Oakland's Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park. Enter from Redwood Gate https://goo.gl/maps/PrGuttC8dEnxN1KC9 We meet at Fishway Lot (the first parking lot on the left). Fishway is a small, unpaved lot on the left, closest to the entrance gate. Parking is free and there are 4 parking lots. At 3:00 pm we start with a meet and greet; and each person gets to share 1 - 2 things that made them happy this week. Please be on time and get to know your new friends during the hike. We leave for the hike at 3:05pm. Route to be determined day of the hike. Hike is about 2 hours. We stop at most trail intersections along the hike to regroup. Please make sure to bring enough water and clothes and respect for everyone and nature. Hike & Picnic at Redwood Regional Park

Everyone will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and share 2–3 things that made them happy this week. We'll then do a small loop hike of approximately 1¼–1½ hours before returning to the Canyon Meadow picnic area, or another suitable picnic area along the Stream Trail depending on availability. ### 🥗 Vegan Picnic After the hike, we'll spend some time relaxing, eating, and getting to know one another. If you'd like to bring something to share, please make it **vegan-friendly** — no meat, dairy, eggs, butter, or other animal-derived ingredients. You don't need to bring food to participate. We meet at 10:30 at the Conservatory, leaving at 10:45. We will walk through the park, checking out what is in bloom, such as the Dahlias. Mallard lake, North lake, Blue Heron lake, (formerly called Stow Lake) for lunch. We will go to the Rose 🌹 garden and the return back to the Conservatory to end our hike. Bring water, lunch, clipper card. Fulton bus #5 will take you to 6th Ave and the park. It will take you back to downtown.

No Hurry, No Worry Weekly Wednesday Hikes at Redwood Regional Park 4:30 pm

Join us for a weekly easy/moderate no hurry no worry afternoon hike in the redwood regional park. Please make sure no valuables are left or visible in the car to prevent break-in. At 4:30 pm we will start with meet and greet; and each person gets to share 2-3 things that made them happy this week. Please be on time and get to know your new friends during the hike. Depending on the group we will go fast or slow, 4-5 miles. Route to be determined on day of the hike. The hike is scheduled for 2 hours and I will try to get us back by then though occasionally and depending on the group we may be back a little later. Fort Funston / Lake Merced Hike (Dogs Very Welcome)

In the south west corner of San Francisco lies Fort Funston part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It features 200-foot high sandy bluffs over-looking the coast where the winds blow reliably wildly. One of the premier hang-gliding spots in the country. Dog Heaven, you will see hundreds of dogs through the trails and on the beach and owners will can take leashes off here. It is also home to the Fort Funston Native Plant Nursery. Sand Dunes: Plants with deep roots and a tolerance for harsh conditions are uniquely adapted to growing on a constantly shifting sand-dune landscape. The San Francisco peninsula was once covered with sand dunes, and today the peninsula's largest remaining dune field can be found at Fort Funston. Sylvan Trail to Wildcat Peak - No Dogs

Join Randy in the Tilden Park Nature Area for a fun and scenic figure-eight hike along wooded trails to Jewel Lake and Wildcat Peak. These largely shaded trails should provide a nice hike in the event of a hot day. We will stop for lunch at the Peace Circle at Wildcat Peak, a stone viewing platform and resting spot built to give hikers a 360-degree panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Golden Gate Bridge, San Pablo Reservoir, and Mount Diablo. The stone circle ties into the Berkeley Rotary International Peace Grove, established in the 1950s to honor leaders and contributors to world peace, which we will visit along the trail. The hike is about 4 miles / 800 feet elevation gain. Dogs are not allowed on hikes in the Tilden Park Nature Area. Restrooms are located at the hike starting point. There is no parking fee. Not so late-San Bruno Mt (easy 7 mi/1000' gain

Join us for an easy-moderate hike at San Bruno Mountain. We will start from one of the back streets in Daly City (no fee required), walk along the perimeter of the park and climb up to the summit. This route is mostly exposed and offers decent views of the Bay and City. It is about 7 miles and has an elevation gain of about 1000ft. Total moving time should be a little over 2 hours.
