Eager to meet other creative people in your corner of Sydney? Or just looking for a welcoming space to relax and make something with your hands? Our community Craft-ernoon is for you. Think of it as a creative hub for everyone—from kids discovering the joy of glitter glue to seniors sharing a lifetime of skills. It’s a relaxed, unstructured afternoon to connect with neighbours of all ages. **What to bring:** * **Your current project:** Whether it’s crochet, sketching, or scrapbooking, bring it along! * **Just yourself!** If you don’t have a project, don't worry. We’d love your help knitting or sewing a "Trauma Teddy" to comfort someone in need. Turkish Mosaic Candle Holder Class

Experience Anatolia’s rich cultural heritage as you join a best-selling mosaic lamp workshop to create your very own mosaic lamp or candle holder. Learn traditional art with a contemporary twist as you travel to the ancient lands of Anatolia at Atolya Studio. In their spectacular classes, you will experience a glimpse of the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul as you create a dazzling mosaic lamp or candle holder. During this two-hour workshop, you will learn the techniques of creating stunning Islamic geometric patterns using specially cut and stained mosaic glass tiles to create your very own Turkish mosaic lamp. While you enjoy our complimentary Turkish afternoon tea service, they will guide you through every step of making these dazzling light ornaments that once lit up the Ottoman palaces, giving a magical ambience and glow to your home. All of the workshops are complemented with traditional Turkish tea and sweets. Indulge in true Turkish hospitality as you enjoy unleash your inner creativity! Please note: If you book the candle holder option, you will have the choice of upgrading to make a table or swan lamp on the day of the workshop. August 2026 Painting Meetup

Please note : Everyone is welcome at the Woollahra Painting Meetup from first time beginners to advanced artists. Our Sunday painting sessions include both group and individual guidance from our regular professional artist and tutor, Christina Rogers. Please bring your own art gear including: a canvas or sketch paper, paints, brushes, easel, cleanup paper, etc. We have tables & chairs for those that don't have an easel. We mostly use oil paints but you are welcome to use whatever paint medium you prefer. Please avoid the use of solvents. If you wish to sketch, please bring pencils or charcoal, etc. Come early to setup around 9:45am as technique training usually happens within the first 1/2 hour from 10:00-10:30am. Hot drinks are available for you to make in the kitchen area. A fee of $25 - is payable on the day. Please bring the right change if possible. We look forward to seeing you!

Knitting and Crochet Group

Hey all, This meetup is scheduled every second Sunday from 3 - 5:30pm. The Dove and Olive serves a delicious Sunday Roast lunch with a vegan option and a full pub menu, so we'll reserve a table for 10. So come for Sunday lunch, a drink or both. Please make sure that you change your RSVP if you won't be able to make it. Please communicate with others on this forum and RSVP promptly and honestly so everyone can check whether there will be people attending each scheduled week. Bring your own yarn materials and ideas! Unfortunately we have had to introduce a voluntary $2 per meeting charge to cover the cost of maintaining Meetup as it has fees every 6 months. Step into a world of espionage through a three-part fashion photography workshop in deconstructing and icon - James Bond 007 through a fearless female lens. This isn’t your typical shoot — it’s a cinematic, high-fashion rebellion. **Reimagine. Redefine. Reload**. **PART III – Femme Fatale** Explore the dark glamour of the femme fatale. This shoot dives into complex characters, bold silhouettes, and the seductive art of menace. We’ll craft visuals that blur the line between danger and desire. **Who it’s for:** Photographers, stylists, models, and creatives looking to push boundaries and elevate their visual style. Create beautiful visual artwork

You will be introduced to basic pouring techniques and art-theory. Followed by a demonstration of pouring paint. You get to create your own painting on a 15×20cm canvas. We then discuss how you found the experience and what you will like to try out perhaps for next time. Please note paintings usually take 3 to 4 days to copleately dry, the varnish can be applied to finish them after that to complete the artwork. If you would like to take them home on the day, please bring a tray or cardboard for ease of transportation. Wearing old clothes and sneakers to the workshop are recomended (just in case of paint spilling). Before the workshop You may like to google flow art techiques on utube, for Ideas of techniques you may like to try. Just come along and enjoy the experience and the fun in flow art.

This walk is beginner-friendly, and all are welcome - whether you've engaged with art before or not.
