Eager to meet other creative people in your corner of Sydney? Or just looking for a welcoming space to relax and make something with your hands? Our community Craft-ernoon is for you. Think of it as a creative hub for everyone—from kids discovering the joy of glitter glue to seniors sharing a lifetime of skills. It’s a relaxed, unstructured afternoon to connect with neighbours of all ages. **What to bring:** * **Your current project:** Whether it’s crochet, sketching, or scrapbooking, bring it along! * **Just yourself!** If you don’t have a project, don't worry. We’d love your help knitting or sewing a "Trauma Teddy" to comfort someone in need. Knitting and Crochet Group

Hey all, This meetup is scheduled every second Sunday from 3 - 5:30pm. The Dove and Olive serves a delicious Sunday Roast lunch with a vegan option and a full pub menu, so we'll reserve a table for 10. So come for Sunday lunch, a drink or both. Please make sure that you change your RSVP if you won't be able to make it. Please communicate with others on this forum and RSVP promptly and honestly so everyone can check whether there will be people attending each scheduled week. Bring your own yarn materials and ideas! Unfortunately we have had to introduce a voluntary $2 per meeting charge to cover the cost of maintaining Meetup as it has fees every 6 months. Short Story Club: 'Bright Hearts' by Kaaron Warren

Short Story Club is a reading club for time-poor people who love speculative fiction. Just like other clubs we read the story and discuss it... though expect to go deeper into craft as writers. This session we're reading Ditmar finalist '[Bright Hearts](https://reactormag.com/bright-hearts-kaaron-warren/)' by Kaaron Warren. Kaaron Warren published her first short story in 1993 and has had fiction in print every year since. She has published six multi-award winning novels (*Slights*, *Walking the Tree*, *Mistification*, *The Grief Hole*, *Tide of Stone*, and *The Underhistory*) and eight short story collections, the most recent being *Calvaria Fell*, with Cat Sparks. Alive yet remote, prestigious yet humble, dynamic yet quietly focused---HEADLANDS--- a place where the ocean meets art, where creativity breathes freely, and where purity and tranquillity exist side by side. Add the charm of a little French café, and somehow, it all comes together. I've been searching for the right date for this one, and finally--- here it is. And I've decided to break my own rule and run two events this time — Saturday and Sunday. Perhaps it's a small indulgence I'm willing to allow myself, a small sacrifice for the love of art, and for the joy of sharing these hidden corners with our art lovers. Some places are simply too beautiful to let slip away. And perhaps my heart is a little too tender when it comes to art. So here we are. This time, I won't reveal too much. Some things are better discovered than described. Let the artists speak to us through their work. Let us wander from studio to studio, discover what lies behind each door, pause for a coffee and a conversation, and eventually, make our way along the coastline ---the ocean beside us, and perhaps, a little more space made in our minds. Come, with curiosity. My friends. **Our itinerary :** **11:45 am – Meet at Frenchy’s Café** One of the iconic little cafés here. We'll collect our Art Trail maps and enjoy coffee together **12:15 pm – Begin the Art Trail** Starting with Studio 1, then Studio 2, 3… and wherever our curiosity takes us. **2:30–3:30 pm – Afternoon Tea at Frenchy’s** A little pause, a little conversation, and perhaps a little reflection on what we have discovered. **3:30–4:45 pm – Sculptures & Coastal Walk** Wander among the sculptures before taking a short stroll along the coastline. **Dress code** Coastal casual with comfortable walking shoes.
