Sunset Dunes stroll with Our Pups!

All are WELCOME!!! Bring yourself and your dog(s) and children, if you like, to walk the Great Highway — now named ***Sunset Dunes***, and then eat lunch at the amazingly wonderful all-vegan ***Judahlicious* !** **The Walk:** It is a 4-mile flat, easy walk (2 miles each way to Sloat and back). **Meet:** Judah and La Playa (near the public bathrooms, across the street from Java Beach Cafe) **Bring:** You, your friends, water for your dog and you, your appetite. **Lunch:** At the all-vegan Judahlicious (39th & Judah)

Fort Funston Nature Walk

Take in beautiful views of Lake Merced, the ocean and coastline, San Bruno Mountain, Twin Peaks, Mount Davidson, and even the Golden Gate Bridge on clear days. We meet at the picnic tables between the Fitness Court and the Lake Merced Bridge on John Muir Drive at 6:00 p.m and set off shortly after. We walk 1.5 miles to the Observation Deck at Fort Funston, where we tend to stop for a bit, chat, watch for dolphins and whales, gaze in awe at the hang gliders and paragliders flying overhead, and enjoy the golden hour (or admire the fog). The total distance is between 3 and 4 miles, depending on which route we take back. The weather can be anything from warm and sunny to cold and windy, so it's best to wear layers. Take home mussels to share with family and friends. 11/7 or 11/8 Mussel Forage & Feast 2 date options: * Sat Nov 7, 2:30-5:30 pm * Sun Nov 8, 3:30-6:30 pm Join us for a magical mussel foraging adventure on the Sonoma Coast. You will learn how to sustainably forage, clean, and prepare our beautiful California coast mussels – as well as an overview of the land’s history, intertidal zone ecosystem, and what it means to be a good steward of our land and waters. If you haven't experienced freshly foraged mussels, you will be in for a treat! A post-foraging feast of mussels on the beach provides the perfect gathering spot to learn how to care for your mussels, ask questions, and enjoy the view. Everyone will have an opportunity to sample the bounty of what we harvested from the sea and share their takeaways from the tide pools. Sunday Morning Beach Workout

​**🐅 Sher Club’s first SF Event** ​BADDIES of all ages/genders meet us at Marina Green for a low-impact beach circuit built around running, mobility, agility, and the kind of movement that feels good rather than punishing. \~45 minutes of movement, a cool-down, and hang time after. ​I'm a former professional tennis player that grew up doing daily beach workouts in Spain, trust, you’re going to leave this event a believer. ​Sher Club events are a place for people to move, meet, and make wellness feel social. All are welcome. No fitness level to prove. Come solo or bring your emotional support human. ​This is our first SF event, so it's on us. ​Come repent for Saturdays sins and meet someone cool!

Ocean Beach Stroll

The latest SF 55+ San Francisco Walking Group event takes place on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. at Java Beach at the Zoo Cafe, 2650 Sloat Boulevard, San Francisco. The route is to walk 3 blocks down Sloat Blvd. to the Upper Great Highway recreation path, continue walking until Judah Street and then turn around and go back to Java Beach. The walk varies between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Java Beach has a bathroom and there is also a public bathroom at Judah Street at the foot of the path at the halfway mark of the walk. The host is Weeming Yee, known as "Wee." **Rain Policy:** Rain cancels the walk **Dog Policy:** dog-friendly walk **Intensity:** Easy & Flat Walk 50 ft of elevation change **Route**: Up Ocean Beach and back **Restrooms:** Beginning (Java Beach on Sloat), Public restrooms every 3 blocks along the Great Hwy. **Distance:** 4 miles **Walk Talk:** Conversational **Pre-Walk**: no activities before walk **Post-Walk**: no activities after walk **Parking**: Parking is easy. **Grace Period:** 5 minutes **Running Late:** We'll walk to the Upper Great Highway and head North on the side path.
