Model Mondays - Spotlight On Model router in Microsoft Foundry

Model Mondays - Spotlight On Model router in Microsoft Foundry

Mon, Aug 24, 5:30 PM
From Microsoft Reactor Berlin Pop-Up
4.4

AI agents rarely rely on a single model to solve every task. In this episode of Model Mondays, we'll explore how model router helps developers apply a hill-climbing approach to agent development by continuously finding better models for different steps in a workflow. Learn how to evaluate models, compare performance across providers and model families, and dynamically route requests to the model best suited for each task. Through discussions and demos, we'll show how model router helps agents improve quality, efficiency, and cost by treating model selection as an ongoing optimization process rather than a one-time decision. *** * [Explore the Resources](https://github.com/microsoft/model-mondays) * [Read the Newsletter](https://aka.ms/model-mondays/newsletter) * [Continue the conversation on the Discord](https://aka.ms/model-mondays/discord)

From LessWrong, Rationality, Wait But Why, Slate Star Codex
4.7

Join one large rationalist social gathering, which brings together 250+ aspiring rationalists from across Europe and beyond for 4 days of socializing, fun, and intellectual exploration. **Full Info & Applications:** [https://www.lesswrong.com/events/iqkaNDmhqpoZWNpXs/lesswrong-community-weekend-2026](https://www.lesswrong.com/events/iqkaNDmhqpoZWNpXs/lesswrong-community-weekend-2026) The whole event **will be participant-driven** in an unconference style: shortly before, and any time during, the weekend, a digital event schedule is filled with 100+ workshops, talks and activities by the attendees. The community weekend is family & LGBTQIA+-friendly, and after last year's amazing experience, we are increasing our effort into creating a diverse event where people of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and experiences feel like they are at home. We invite everyone who shares a **curiosity** for new perspectives to gain a truthful understanding of the world and its inhabitants, a **passion** for developing practices and systems that achieve our personal goals and, consequently, those of humanity at large, as well as a desire to nurture **empathetic relationships** that support and inspire us on our journey. **Price:** Regular ticket: €225\-275 \| Supporter ticket: €300/400/500\+ (The ticket includes accommodation from Friday to Monday, meals, and snacks.) Nobody makes any money from this event, and the organizer team is unpaid. This event has a special place in our heart, and we truly think there’s nothing else quite like it. It’s where so many of us made friends with whom we have more in common than each of us would’ve thought to be possible. It’s where new ideas have altered our opinions or even changed the course of life - in the best possible way. **Note:** You need to apply and be accepted via the application form. RSVPs are appreciated but don't count towards your participation.

Cybersecurity × AI: Berlin's Builders, Breakers & Backers #2

Cybersecurity × AI: Berlin's Builders, Breakers & Backers #2

Wed, Aug 26, 5:00 PM
From Startups.Berlin
4.4

AI has changed both sides of the security equation at once. Attackers are automating reconnaissance, phishing, and exploit development at a scale that didn't exist two years ago. Defenders are shipping agents that triage alerts, patch code, and hunt threats faster than any SOC team could. And an entirely new attack surface — the models themselves — is being built into products before anyone has agreed on how to secure it. Berlin has quietly become one of Europe's densest clusters of people working on exactly this problem: security founders, ML engineers, red teamers, CISOs, researchers, and the investors funding them. This meetup is an attempt to get them in one room. **⚠️ Attendance is limited and by application only** We're capping this event at **10 people**. The reason is deliberate: we'd rather have a room where everyone present is actually working in this space than a large room where most people are browsing. Smaller rooms mean better conversations and a much higher chance you meet the two or three people who matter for what you're building. To be considered, apply here: [https://luma.com/13bgbude](https://luma.com/13bgbude) The form takes about two minutes. We'll ask for: * Your name and where you work * What you're building, investing in, or researching * Your role (founder / engineer / security lead / investor / researcher / other) * What you're hoping to get out of the evening We review applications on a rolling basis and confirm attendees by email. Applying early genuinely helps — once we're at capacity we close the list. If you're not selected this time, you'll be first in line for the next one. **What to expect** * [2–3 short talks] from founders and practitioners building at the intersection — offensive AI, AI-native defense tooling, securing LLM applications, compliance under the EU AI Act * An open Q&A where hard questions are welcome * Long-form networking **Who we're looking for** Founders (pre-idea to Series B), security engineers and researchers, red teamers, CISOs and security leads, VCs and angels active in the space, and serious people looking to move into it.
