Let’s Play Backgammon! - Play, Socialize & Have Fun

Sun, Jun 21, 10:30 AM
From Backgammon Berlin
4.9

Join our Backgammon Meetup to play, socialize, and enjoy this classic game! Everyone’s welcome! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player. Expect fun, friendly games, laughter, and new friends. With the nice weather and the beautiful lakeside setting, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a few games and spend time together. Hopefully we can make the most of a sunny summer afternoon! ☀️🎲⛲️🍻🌳 👉 Please RSVP only if you plan to attend. 👉 Bring your own set if you have one. **How to Play (Quick Guide):** - Each player has 15 checkers and moves them toward their home board. - Dice rolls decide how many spaces you can move. - Land on an opponent’s single checker to send it to the bar. - Once all your checkers are home, start bearing off (removing them). - First to remove all checkers wins! **Fun Fact:** The Origin of Backgammon: Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games, with roots deeply embedded in the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia. But it is in Persia, where the game truly flourished and evolved into what we now know as 'Takhte Nard'. Archaeological findings suggest that early forms of backgammon were played in Iran over 5,000 years ago. Artifacts such as game boards and dice have been discovered in sites like 'Shahr-e Sukhteh' (The Burnt City), indicating the game’s ancient origins.

Free Trial Class: Salsa (Casino) II

### **Casino II (B) 💃🕺** **🕠 5:30–6:30 PM** **📍 SaloNeo (Hagenauerstr. 11)** **🌤️ When the weather is good (warm enough, no rain), we will dance outdoors:** **👉 [https://maps.app.goo.gl/dey5G3RmseJAXnP4A](https://maps.app.goo.gl/dey5G3RmseJAXnP4A)** **[acEw0w](https://book.stripe.com/4gMaEQ9Lwa3V0ZP91acEw0w)** **In this course, we will build on and review the topics from your Salsa Beginner classes.** **You should have already participated in one of our beginner courses or another basic Salsa Cubana (Casino) course.** **We will start exploring more complex movements and figures, while staying true to our philosophy:** **It’s not the number of figures that makes you a “good dancer” — it’s your communication with your partner and with the music.** **That’s exactly how this course is structured. 💛** **Contact us, if you want to join! 😊** **📧 info@puntocubanoberlin.com** **📞 +49 155 100 966 28** 💛 What to Expect from a Free Trial Class If you choose to join a free trial class, please note that you will be joining an ongoing course. The purpose of the trial class is twofold: it gives you the opportunity to get an impression of us as teachers, our teaching style, and the level of the course, while also giving us the opportunity to get to know you as a dancer. We believe that one of the advantages of joining a dance school is being able to trust the teachers' experience and criteria. During the trial class, we not only help you decide whether the course feels right for you, but we also assess whether it is the best fit for your current level and learning journey. Our goal is not simply to place you in a class, but to help you find your happy place within our dance community — the environment where you can learn most comfortably, progress steadily, and enjoy dancing the most. The final decision regarding the level is therefore ultimately ours. If we notice that you are struggling significantly with the material, we may ask you to observe the remainder of the class and recommend a different level instead. This is not meant to embarrass you or make you feel uncomfortable. Quite the opposite: it allows us to stay true to our values regarding technique, learning quality, and the comfort of the students who have been learning and progressing in the course over time. In the long run, you'll probably be grateful for being placed in the level that supports your growth and enjoyment the most. 😊 We are very much looking forward to meeting you and dancing with you! Another June event! As I search for a new regular venue, we will be hopping around Berlin's black-owned venues and cool events this summer! So... Let's join this official Fete de la Musique event. There will be soca music, food and live performances at the One Caribbean Block Party at Slap'D on Revelerstr The event starts at 14.00 so I will arrive just before and find a hangout area for us. I will also post the exact spot in the comments once I am there. It is a small bar so it will be easy to find the group. I look forward to hanging out, dancing and having fun with all of you! Tue, Jun 23, 5:00 PM
From Cards Against Humanity - Tuesdays for Terrible People
4.6

Join us for an evening of ethically concerning jokes! We'll meet, have a beer, and play a round of cards against humanity. Laughs will be had, groans will be groaned, beer will go down the hatch. This event is public, and prior experience with the game is not required. You are not required to drink alcohol, but please note that we are crashing a bar (cash only), so a beverage purchase or two is appropriate and necessary for us to maintain their goodwill. See you there!
