Come join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon of **Hong Kong Style Mahjong, boba, conversation, and hopefully fewer questionable tile decisions than last time.**
This event is primarily reserved for eligible returning members of **Andy’s Mahjong Community and Board Game Community** who have demonstrated meaningful involvement and support of the community over time.
**Prior attendance alone does not guarantee eligibility. RSVP or registration does not guarantee admission or participation. Attendance is subject to organizer approval.**
First-time attendees are generally not part of the complimentary loyalty admission. However, a first-time attendee may participate **only if specifically approved by the organizer**, in which case the event fee is **$35 per person**.
**Beginners are absolutely welcome, and teaching will be provided.** Whether you already know how to play, have only played a few times, or need someone to explain why discarding that tile was a terrible life decision, you are welcome to learn and play.
The event is best suited for **beginner to intermediate players**, with a focus on learning, socializing, playing casually, and having a fun Sunday afternoon together.
Please arrive by **2:00 PM** so we can organize tables and get games started smoothly. The event will run until **5:30 PM**.

**💵 Event Fee & Loyalty Admission**
**Eligible returning loyalty members attend this event for FREE.**\*
**\*Complimentary admission is limited to eligible returning members of Andy’s Mahjong Community and Board Game Community. Prior attendance by itself does not automatically qualify someone for complimentary admission.**
If a first-time attendee is specifically approved by the organizer to participate, the event fee is **$35 per person**.
The $35 first-time attendee fee is strictly an **event participation fee**. It is not a wager, gambling payment, buy-in, prize contribution, play pool contribution, or payment connected to Mahjong scores, wins, losses, or gameplay results.
There is no play fee, betting fee, gambling fee, or money pool associated with Mahjong gameplay.

**🧋 Venue Purchase Requirement**
Because we are meeting at Wushiland Boba, **every attendee is required to purchase at least one item directly from the venue’s menu**.
Food and beverages are purchased separately and paid directly to Wushiland Boba.
The venue purchase requirement is separate from any event fee. The host does not collect or receive payment for food or beverages purchased from the venue.
In other words: **Mahjong may be free for eligible loyalty members. Boba has unfortunately declined our request to become a charitable institution.**
Please support the venue, be considerate of its employees and customers, and help us remain good guests.

**🤝 Community Code of Conduct & Good Sportsmanship**
Everyone is expected to be **cordial, respectful, patient, and welcoming** toward other attendees, venue employees, customers, and the host.
Please help maintain a friendly, comfortable, and low-drama environment throughout the afternoon.
Good sportsmanship is expected, especially because some players may still be learning or building confidence.
Please be patient with newer players, avoid rude or dismissive comments, and give people reasonable time to think, ask questions, and understand the game.
Disagreements about rules, scoring, or gameplay should be handled calmly and respectfully.
**Be kind to the host and other attendees.** Questions, disagreements, and feedback are welcome when communicated respectfully. Hostility is not.
Aggressive, hostile, threatening, harassing, bullying, intimidating, discriminatory, or deliberately disruptive behavior toward the host or any other participant is not acceptable.
Please respect personal boundaries. If someone asks you to stop a behavior, give them space, or leave them alone, respect that request.
Please respect the venue as well. Keep the tables reasonably tidy, manage noise appropriately, and follow reasonable requests from Wushiland staff.
And yes, **play fairly**. No cheating, deliberate disruption of games, or launching a constitutional crisis because someone discarded the tile you wanted.
Attendees whose behavior significantly interferes with the safety, comfort, or enjoyment of others may be asked to leave and may be **banned from future community events**.
We are here to argue over Mahjong tiles, not over each other.

**🚫 No Gambling / No Money Involved in Gameplay**
**This is a strictly non-gambling Mahjong event.**
There will be **no gambling, no betting, no wagering, no cash play, no money pool, no prize pool, no buy-in, no side bets, and no money connected to Mahjong gameplay**.
Mahjong will be played strictly for **fun, learning, and social enjoyment**.
Any event participation fee is completely separate from Mahjong scores, wins, losses, hands, points, or gameplay results.
No money will be collected for a play pool, gambling pool, prize pool, or wagering system.
**Gambling is strictly prohibited.**
Any participant found gambling, organizing gambling, collecting money for gambling, attempting to create a gambling pool, or involving other attendees in gambling **will be banned from the event and from future community events**.
The only thing you should be risking here is whether that tile you just discarded comes back to haunt you.

**📅 Cancellation Policy**
If you can no longer attend, please cancel your RSVP **at least 24 hours before the event start time**.
Since space may be limited depending on table availability, canceling in advance gives another eligible participant the opportunity to attend.
