Return of rock, blues, and country jam (near 2/210)

Hello, again, if you’re still out there! It’s been a while, but the drum kit is set up again. It’ll take some time to set up the PA, etc., but I’m hoping to get the jam going again. I’ve had this goofy idea for a while to play full band style, plugged in, singing through mics, but not real loud. Since Covid, I’ve met a mellow drum player who likes playing music, not real picky about style, and a great bass player who can play anything, but they’re both busy Saturdays. We’re probably going to jam some on Tuesdays, too. I play lousy guitar and write weird songs, but I like taking turns with others leading tunes. Looking for other musicians, singers, songwriters who’d like to collaborate on originals and covers of Americana, Dylan, Stones, Dead, etc.

Concerts in the Park Group Potluck Picnic: Dream Like Taylor (Altadena)

Dance with Marc and Jan in La Canada

We dance on Thursdays 8:00 - 10:00 PM at the Nourishing Spirits Center on the campus of St. George's Episcopal Church, 808 Foothill Blvd., in La Canada. Whether you're new to folk dancing or experienced, we hope you’ll join us for fun and beautiful dances from around the world. This may be long, but we think you will find it helpful. This event is part of an ongoing group, and you are welcome to come any week. For your first visit, please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can say hello before teaching starts. We will teach several dances appropriate for both new and experienced dancers for half an hour or so, and there will be more dances you can join in after that. You will be dancing the first evening, even if you have never danced before. The particular dances we teach each week will depend on the dance experience of our participants. We'll have a break at 9:00 for refreshments and socializing and then dance again until 10:00. (If you can't stay that late, it's perfectly fine to leave early.) Your $5 helps pay our rent. This is not a business. We dance for the joy of it. We are a very friendly group and very supportive of new participants. The teaching is extremely popular. No one is ever pressured or put on the spot. Our only goal is to have fun together. We no longer require vaccinations or masks, but we encourage good health practices, and some participants wear masks.
