Let’s Play Backgammon! - Play, Socialize & Have Fun
Sun, Jun 21, 10:30 AMJoin our Backgammon Meetup to play, socialize, and enjoy this classic game! Everyone’s welcome! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player. Expect fun, friendly games, laughter, and new friends. With the nice weather and the beautiful lakeside setting, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a few games and spend time together. Hopefully we can make the most of a sunny summer afternoon! ☀️🎲⛲️🍻🌳 👉 Please RSVP only if you plan to attend. 👉 Bring your own set if you have one. **How to Play (Quick Guide):** - Each player has 15 checkers and moves them toward their home board. - Dice rolls decide how many spaces you can move. - Land on an opponent’s single checker to send it to the bar. - Once all your checkers are home, start bearing off (removing them). - First to remove all checkers wins! **Fun Fact:** The Origin of Backgammon: Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games, with roots deeply embedded in the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia. But it is in Persia, where the game truly flourished and evolved into what we now know as 'Takhte Nard'. Archaeological findings suggest that early forms of backgammon were played in Iran over 5,000 years ago. Artifacts such as game boards and dice have been discovered in sites like 'Shahr-e Sukhteh' (The Burnt City), indicating the game’s ancient origins.

Rumba Columbia (Free Trial Class)
Wed, Jul 1, 5:00 PM**Rumba Columbia is a powerful and sensitive dance. Through Columbia, dancers express their deepest emotions. It is an improvisational dance developed in Cuba, where each dancer enters alone and shows their individuality.** **It combines fast, intricate footwork with sharp shoulder movements, constantly shifting in tempo and cadence. But Columbia is about more than technique — it is about presence and dialogue. The dancer and the quinto (lead drum) interact in real time, creating a living conversation between rhythm and movement. 🥁** **Traditionally, Columbia was danced mostly by men, as it originated in shipyards and docks where they expressed strength, agility, and creativity. Today, rumberas also shape the dance, bringing new grace and power to it.** **Columbia remains a dance of individuality — every gesture, step, and accent is personal. It’s not about perfection, but about truth, rhythm, and connection.** **In this course, we do not learn pre-set choreographies. Instead, we focus on improvisation and help you develop your own style and expression within the dance. ✨** **📧 info@puntocubanoberlin.com** **📞 +49 155 100 966 28** 💛 What to Expect from a Free Trial Class If you choose to join a free trial class, please note that you will be joining an ongoing course rather than a class specifically designed for complete beginners. The purpose of the trial class is to give you the opportunity to get an impression of me as a teacher, my teaching style, and the atmosphere of the class. This is an open-level class and usually includes dancers with a wide range of experience, including some more advanced students. I therefore encourage you not to compare yourself too much to the people around you. Instead, focus on taking from the class what matches your current level and experience. It is perfectly fine if, for now, "all" you take home is the basic step of this beautiful dance. 😊 Rumba Columbia is a dance with many layers. Week by week, you will improve your body movement, technique, coordination, musicality, and build your own repertoire of movements and ideas. My goal is not for everyone to master the same material at the same speed, but for each dancer to continue growing from wherever they currently are. I am very much looking forward to meeting you and dancing with you! Yago
