We'll start by completing the quick and easy TRUST certification together, then dive into hands-on lessons covering essential skills like safety practices, takeoff, landing, hovering, and basic maneuvers. **Bring Your Own Drone:** We only have one or two drones available, so we strongly encourage you to bring your own lightweight drone (under 0.55 lbs/250 grams) if you have one! **Experienced Operators Welcome:** Already know your way around a drone? Urban Athletics: Pedals & Pizza – Manhattan

During this cycling series we'll explore New York City one neighborhood—and one slice—at a time. Each ride takes us to a different borough or neighborhood in search of the best pizza, hidden gems, neighborhood institutions, and legendary slice shops. Every event is a new route, new flavors, and a new excuse to ride. Our first ride kicks things off in Manhattan. We'll cruise through some of Manhattan's most iconic neighborhoods, stopping at several pizzerias to sample slices, compare notes, and answer the question that has divided New Yorkers for decades: Who really makes the best pizza in the city? Spoiler: We probably won't agree. That's why this is a series. **The Ride** * Approximately 20 miles * 4 or so pizza stops * Relaxed, social pace with frequent breaks * Plenty of opportunities for photos (of the city and the pizza) **Tentative Pizzerias** * L’industrie * Scarr's Pizza) * Mama's Too! * Patsy's (Route and stops may change depending on group size, weather, and wait times.) **Cost** Everyone pays for their own slices and drinks. The goal isn't to eat an entire pizza at every stop—it's to sample a variety. Pace yourself... this is a marathon, not a mozzarella sprint. **Bring** * A bike in good working condition * Helmet (strongly encouraged) * Water bottle * Bike lock * Cash or card for pizza * An appetite and a sense of adventure **Who should join?** Anyone comfortable riding in NYC traffic at a relaxed pace. This isn't a race—nobody gets dropped unless they secretly stop for a slice without telling the group. Whether you're a cyclist who loves pizza or a pizza lover willing to pedal for your next slice, this meetup is all about good food, great company, and exploring the city from the best seat possible—a bike. Bronx Tennis @ Seton Park, Every Saturday Year 'Round

I have renewed our Saturday Year 'Round listing. We play every Saturday year 'round as long as it is at least 34 degrees and the courts are dry. This is a competitive tennis group requiring a certified rating of at least 3.0. We do not accept beginners. Saturday sessions are limited to eight (8) players plus a ninth designated reserve player, and we will have a waiting list. Check the "comments" section for the starting time each week, which will either be 11 AM in colder weather, or 10 AM as the weather heats up. Bring your tennis permit, a new can of balls and a positive attitude. Every member in good standing is invited as long as you register by midnight of the prior day, you are fully vaxxed, and you rate at least 3.0.

Beyond New York - Exploring the Hoboken Waterfront

***UPDATE:*** *This event has been rescheduled from its original June 27, 2026 date.* For the very first time, NYC Shutterbugs is venturing outside the borders. In this meetup, we shall be exploring the Hoboken Waterfront in New Jersey. This scenic, 1-mile linear park along the Hudson River is known for its clear, unobstructed, panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, and luch green spaces like Pier A Park and Pier C Park, as well as the statue of Frank Sinatra. We will meet at the World Trade Center PATH Station at 10:00 AM. Our goal is to catch the 10:15 AM PATH train from to Hoboken (a 10 minute ride). If you are gonna be late, please inform us in the group chat and **we'll wait until no later than 10:30 am before we depart.** From Hoboken, we will make our way along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway and walking up to Pier A and Pier C parks, reaching Sinatra Park (where the statue resides) before heading back. Urban Athletics: NYC at Night Bike Ride

New York is a completely different city after dark. During the day, people are out riding bikes, soaking up the sunshine, and pretending they enjoy paying $8 for coffee. But once the sun goes down, most cyclists tuck their bikes away and head home. That’s like ordering a pizza, throwing away the cheese, and proudly announcing that the crust was the best part. You're missing half the experience. If you're a fellow night owl—or simply someone with questionable sleep habits—come join me for a late-night ride through the city. **The plan...** We'll meet in Union Square and pedal our way around some of New York City's most iconic landmarks. They're impressive during the day, but at night they transform into something even better: beautifully illuminated and, in some cases, suspiciously free of tourists. Our route includes the Washington Square Arch, the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, the World Financial Center, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, the Plaza Hotel fountain, the glowing Apple cube, the sensory overload that is Times Square, the New York Public Library and its famous stone lions, and the Flatiron Building. We'll also do a loop through Central Park after dark, stopping at Bethesda Fountain and Belvedere Castle—because nothing says “good decision-making” like wandering through a giant park at midnight with a bunch of strangers from the internet. **The important stuff...** * The ride will be about 28 miles round trip at a casual pace of roughly 12 mph. If midnight is normally when you transform back into a pumpkin, this may not be the meetup for you—we'll be out late. * We'll stick to bike lanes whenever possible, but the city planners, in their infinite wisdom, neglected to place protected lanes directly in front of every famous attraction. You should be comfortable riding in traffic. Helmets and bike lights are absolutely required, both for safety and to improve your odds of being seen by taxis. * Please make sure your bike is in good working order before the meetup. Bring a lock, a spare tube, a patch kit, and a pump. New York has many wonderful qualities, but fixing your flat at 1:00 a.m. on the side of the road is not one of them. * Check your email before heading out for any last-minute updates and my phone number, which will be sent to everyone who RSVPs. * And speaking of RSVPs: please only sign up if you genuinely plan to come. Space is limited, and "I totally meant to make it" sadly does not propel a bicycle. Serial no-shows and last-minute cancellers may be removed from the event. * Sorry, no guests for this one. * Rain cancels the meetup, because while we enjoy adventure, recreating scenes from The Dark Knight on two wheels is a bridge too far.
