**Thursday October 1st at 12:30 pm** **Meet at the 990 Washington Avenue Entrance (behind the Brooklyn Museum)** *Note that the Eastern Parkway entrance is closed temporarily* *Please use a map and note the CORRECT entrance this year! The Garden doesn’t close until 7:00pm so we can take our time and explore all areas looking for suitably photogenic plants and insects to point our macro lenses at. Wandering among nature's best with friends and folks with the same interests is always a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. However, please feel free to depart whenever you need to All manner of close-up devices, macro lenses, and cameras are welcome. I will bring a couples of unusual macro lenses to show and demonstrate. All levels of photographic skill are welcome from novices with cell phones to professionals with elaborate setups. Although this is a suggested macro shoot all forms of photography are just fine, shoot whatever you enjoy! *Remember, as the English Poet **Dorothy Frances Gurney** wrote* *"The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth, One is nearer God's heart in a garden, Than anywhere else on earth."* We do not need permits for general photography, however, please note *FROM THE GARDEN: Unless specifically allowed on your permit, tripods, body mounts, and selfie sticks may not be used in the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, the Conservatory, or flower beds. Please do not block paths. Drones are not permitted*. Please be on time! The NYC Subway System is a hellscape of unimaginable delays that will wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul. No experience necessary. So grab your picnic basket and enjoy wonderful paint event in Central Park! Included: a pre-sketched canvas, unlimited painting materials (brushes, acrylic paints etc.) and a take home bag. No smocks so please dress appropriately. Please bring something to sit on. What to expect: **• Step-by-step, group-oriented painting instruction, which is designed to simultaneously entertain and enlighten our members.** **• We'll have a professional artist guide you through a featured painting that is yours to keep and proudly display. On Wednesday, October 14th let’s crochet together! 🧶 Details below: 6:30 to 8pm Location TBD (will announce by September 30th) Take a break from your phone, slow down, and connect through the simple joy of creating with your hands. All levels are welcome! Never crocheted before? I’ll teach you from the very beginning and guide you step by step. Already know how to crochet? Bring your favorite pattern or project, and I’ll help guide you through it. Or simply come as you are—no pressure, no expectations. Just crochet, conversation, and a peaceful moment to be present and connect with others through crafts. What to bring: Please bring your own crochet supplies if you have them. I’ll have some yarn and crochet hooks available for you to use, but it’s always best to bring a yarn you love and enjoy working with. Any yarn, any brand, any color! A small pair of scissors is also recommended. No experience needed. Just bring yourself and a willingness to create. 🧶✨ Of course, please reach out if you have any questions!
