This is a first class ! Throughout the year, we will work into the first part of Form 108, which is an essential foundation for beginners. We begin with gentle stretching and some preparatory exercises, then we will work in detail on the first movement of the form. We practice partner exercises, which are an essential part of our school : if you wish to avoid contact with your partner, please let me know at the beginning of class. We finish the class with Qigong, the posture for regaining calm. "Gay Aprons Only": the most sassy cooking class in town

The "Gay Aprons Only cooking class is back. If you are looking for something fun, cheeky, and a little different for your Saturday night? Don’t miss this. This is a playful and social cooking experience designed for gay men who enjoy great food, learning something new, good company, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a way to explore our masculinity in a safe, respectful, private and non-judgemental environment. We’ll kick off the evening with a glass of bubbles and a selection of antipasti to break the ice. Then, together, we’ll dive into preparing a traditional Italian dish from scratch. This time, you’ll learn how to make "Involtini di tacchino", (Turkey Rolls). Thin slices of turkey breast filled with prosciutto, mushrooms, cheese and herbs, then rolled and secured with a toothpick, cooked with white wine and herbs until tender and flavourful. Served with roasted potatoes and other vegetables. It's a lovely meal to share in great company and with a good glass of wine. The Aprons Only cooking class takes place in a cosy private flat near Victoria Station and is limited to a small group of up to max 10 people, keeping things intimate and relaxed. Join us for an afternoon dedicated to the craft of handmade pasta. Whether you have never picked up a rolling pin before or you are looking to refine your technique, this session is all about getting hands-on with flour and eggs to see how simple ingredients transform into something special. We will go through the process of mixing, kneading, and shaping dough from scratch, focusing on the tactile side of things rather than complicated recipes. This is a relaxed, social environment where the goal is to learn at a steady pace and enjoy the process alongside others who share an interest in cooking. You do not need any professional experience to join us; just bring a bit of curiosity and a willingness to get a little flour on your clothes. We will be working in a communal space, so come prepared for some good conversation while we work. Spaces for this session are limited so that everyone has enough room to work comfortably. Using unique and creative ways to avoid using screws, nails, and glue, this art is passed down from master to apprentice. Even with the advent of power tools, the craft is still practised by hand as a sign of respect towards their heritage, culture, and traditions. Japanese woodworking is all about principle, discipline, and accuracy. The lack of power tools is a testament to the practice put into mastering the craft. Experienced woodworker Auram Desforges is a Japanese joinery enthusiast. He will guide you through the Japanese tools and techniques to make several wood joints. You will learn which tools to use, and how to measure and cut with accuracy so that you can attempt any joint design in the future. Expect a calm workshop with lots of concentration.
