Literary Slow Dating â for heteros aged 25 to 35
Wed, Nov 11, 6:00 PMPicture a warm room full of books, and people who actually read them. This is slow dating the Metis way: an evening built around meeting *people*, with real conversation taking the place of endless profiles. For the first time, we're opening our format to heterosexual singles aged 25 to 35, on this special date, the 11.11. You'll get to know each other through a handful of gentle, low-pressure activities we've put together, the kind that work beautifully if you're on the shy side, or if you'd honestly rather talk about a favourite novel than make small talk. Books are the conversation starter, and everyone moves at their own pace, with time for each encounter to unfold. The evening also has room to breathe. We start at 19:00 and the programme runs to around 21:30, and these evenings tend to drift happily onward: people stay, keep talking over a glass of wine, and it easily rolls on towards 22:00. Stay as long as the conversation does. Hosted by the team behind Metis, in our multilingual bookshop-cafĂ© on GleimstraĂe in Prenzlauer Berg, a warm and open space where everyone is welcome. The evening runs in **English and German**, so you can choose whichever feels most like home. Come for the books, stay for the people. đ Metis Books & CafĂ© · GleimstraĂe 21 · 10437 Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg) đ Wednesday, 11 November · from 19:00 (easily until \~22:00) đ âŹ13.90 early bird · âŹ15.90 at the door đ For heterosexual singles aged 25 to 35, who love books

Form & Flow: Introduction to Alcohol Ink
Sat, Nov 14, 3:00 PM**Alcohol ink? What is that?** Alcohol ink is a vibrant, fluid medium known for its intense colors and unpredictable movement. As the inks blend, spread, and react, they create luminous layers, delicate textures, and surprising organic forms, making every artwork entirely unique. In this workshop, you'll be introduced to the extraordinary possibilities of alcohol ink on Yupo paper. Drawing on years of experience, I will share unique techniques I have developed to guide and control the ink, while still allowing space for flow, chance, and surprise. **Who is this for?** This workshop is open to everyone! From complete beginners to professional artists. No experience is needed: the material is intuitive, the process is exciting, and every participant will leave with vivid, original artworks. **Who am I ? :)** Iâm Elinor Sahm, a Berlin based multidisciplinary artist . My practice moves between painting, drawing, installation and sound, and my work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, and art fairs across Europe. Alongside my artistic practice, I have many years of experience teaching and guiding people through creative processes. Alcohol ink has been an important part of my work for nearly a decade. Over the years, I have developed my own techniques for working with its fluid movement, intense color, and unpredictable reactions, and have taught them in numerous workshops. In this workshop, I will introduce you to the medium through my own artistic approach and help you discover your own way of working with it. **[Tickets: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/elinorsahm/2400139](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/elinorsahm/2400139)**

Berlin Apache Airflow Meetup at idealo!
Thu, Nov 5, 5:00 PMJoin fellow Airflow enthusiasts and leaders at **idealo's offices** for an evening of engaging presentations, delicious food and drinks, and awesome swag! The evening will consist of Airflow-specific presentations followed by networking. We canât wait to see you there! **PRESENTATIONS** **Talk 1: Apache Airflow for Production-ready AI** **Speaker:** *Sadok Ben Yahya, Senior Engineer at Astronomer* Running AI workloads in production takes more than a model call. This talk shows how Apache Airflow's Common AI provider brings production-ready AI orchestration into your DAGs: single-turn LLM calls, multi-turn agents with tools, and building blocks for RAG, SQL generation, and file analysis. You'll also see how to productionize it all with durable execution, usage limits, and human-in-the-loop review. **Talk 2: Scaling Airflow at idealo: From MWAA to Astronomer and Beyond** **Speakers:** *David Hellwig, VP Data, idealo & Shaleena Ann Thomas, idealo* Over three years, idealo consolidated fragmented Airflow instances, Glue PySpark jobs, and other data lake workloads into a centralized platform, standardizing on PySpark. Migrating KPI-critical pipelines from MWAA to Astronomer in 2025 brought zero infrastructure incidents since May. This talk covers that journey: consolidating infrastructure, enabling self-service via automated deployments, reusable operators, blueprint DAGs, and observability, and how centralized ops and developer autonomy go hand in hand. **AGENDA** * **18:00â18:30:** Check-in / Networking / Snacks * **18:30â18:50:** Talk 1 â Apache Airflow for Production-ready AI (Sadok Ben Yahya, Astronomer) * **18:50â19:20:** Talk 2 â Scaling Airflow at idealo (David Hellwig & Shaleena Ann Thomas) * **19:20â19:30:** Coffee Break * **19:30â20:30:** Closing / Networking
