Sketchbook: V&A Sculpture Room

Lets sketch in the sculpture room at the V&A South Kensington I love this set of rooms, there's tonnes of amazing sculptures here. Sculptures act as such effective life drawing models cus they don't move! If anyone wishes to sketch any other part of the museum they are of course welcome to. We will meet outside the main entrance on Cromwell Road at 11am, I'll wait for about 15 minutes and then we will head in to the sculpture room together. Afterwards we can then meet back there at 1pm and maybe sit in the courtyard and compare drawings! Sketchbook: Temple Station Gallery

Lets sketch in the outdoor art gallery on top of Temple Station! This is a fun hidden gem of the city, a free outdoor modern art space on top of Temple Station. We will meet outside the entrance of Temple Station, I'll wait for about 15 minutes for any latecomers and we can head right on top of the station there, very easy to find. Afterwards we can then meet back at 1pm and compare drawings! If the weather looks rubbish I will think of somewhere else to go and let you know. Late at the Tate: The 90s

The big Tate Britain exhibition this autumn is its 1990s retrospective, which will focus on a combination of art, design, fashion and photography. It's curated by ex-Vogue editor Edward Enniful and features Juergen Teller, Corinne Day, Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano among many others. Nevertheless, expect music, DJs and hopefully other fun stuff to do. I guess you could even check out some art if you wanted! We can meet at half six, hang out and then go to a local bar afterwards if we want. It is a Friday night after all.

ZINEB SEDIRA WHEN WORDS FALL SILENT, CINEMA SPEAKS then coffee social

Hello cinema lovers! 🎬 What if cinema could become an act of resistance? 🥁 Join us as we explore Zineb Sedira’s fascinating installation at Tate Britain, where film, politics and cultural history collide. Step into recreated spaces inspired by the revolutionary spirit of 1960s and 70s cinema, from Parisian cafés buzzing with ideas to mobile cinemas bringing stories to new audiences. More than a trip into the past, this exhibition invites us to question whose stories get told, how memories shape our world, and whether art can really make a difference. 🎟️ Admission is free and no booking required. National Portrait Gallery Treasure Hunt - can you find the treasure?

Come along on Saturday 7th November for a treasure hunt around the National Portrait Gallery! The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know a museum, gallery or area whilst meeting new people. This treasure hunt is based on some of the most famous paintings in the gallery. **About the gallery** The National Portrait Gallery houses portraits of historically important and famous British people, selected on the basis of the significance of the sitter, not that of the artist. The collection includes photographs and caricatures as well as paintings, drawings and sculpture. When the gallery opened in 1856, it was the first portrait gallery in the world. It currently houses over 10,000 paintings. **How it works** Come along at 1:30pm and you will be randomly divided into teams of 3 people (or you can choose your own team beforehand). For fairness, any London Guides or Blue Badge Tour Guides won't be allowed to take part. Then each team will be given 15-20 written clues which you have to find the answers for. It's up to your team to work together to find the answers. You can answer them in any order and you will be provided with a map of the gallery to help you. It's not a race, so you can take your time getting to know the gallery. The answers to the clues will be found on the information cards of the paintings or in the painting itself. The treasure hunts are a good way to get to know the gallery whilst meeting and getting to know new people! **Prizes** The team to get the most correct answers and then return to base (a local pub or cafe) will win book vouchers for Waterstones bookshops of £10 per person. If more than one team gets the top score, there will be a tie break question back at the pub. Get ready to bring your sketchbook and art supplies for a chilled café sketching session! There'll also be a movie hangout afterwards! No matter your skill level lets grab a coffee and unleash our creativity into our sketchbooks. There's no formal guidance, you'll be free to get on with your own drawings/personal art projects while being able to connect with other local artists.
