ASH UU - Laura Savage

Atheists-Skeptics-Humanists (ASH) Monthly Meeting will feature Laura Savage, Executive Director of the Ohio Art League, the nation's oldest member-run art organization (founded in 1909 by 40 students of the Columbus Art School - now CCAD). Laura will talk about the League's ongoing mission, its importance to the Columbus art scene, some of the current exhibitions, future plans, and how we can all become patrons of the arts. ASH UU meets at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of most months, in Rm. 301 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., unless that month's meeting has been canceled.

Trans Figure Drawing

[Sign up here!](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/trans-figure-drawing-workshop-18-tickets-1997514174668?aff=oddtdtcreator) Join us for Trans Figure Drawing, a live figure-drawing session featuring trans models provided by the Westerville Queer Collective (WQC) and the Ohio Feminist Art Museum (OFAM). We will begin with short, gestural poses and gradually move onto longer ones. Beginner level instruction will be provided by a local queer artist for those who would like it. This event is 18+, and all skill levels welcome. Figure drawing isn’t just a tradition for classical artists - it’s a rewarding way to connect with the human body. When going to a live figure drawing session, it’s not always disclosed what kind of model the artists will be working with. Given today’s political landscape, OFAM and WQC are creating space for artists to work with the trans body. This event is good for anyone who wishes to hone their skills, diversify their subject matter, or simply enjoy introspective, meditative sketching. Bring your own materials: easel and drawing pad, sketchbook and color pencils, watercolor set up, anything that doesn’t require excessive ventilation or other special accommodations. BYOB if you’re 21+ as well! We will cover model etiquette and there will be scheduled breaks throughout. Seating/tables and tabletop easels will also be provided. Columbus Museum of Art, Free Admission Sundays

Let’s meet and wander the galleries! General admission on Sundays is free. We'll be meeting in the sculpture garden area at the meeting time, which is just outside the cafe area by the main entry. When you approach the front desk/main entry area there will be some seating just outside the cafe area. If you can meet us there by 11:15 we'll head into the gallery area as a group, but if you arrive after that time feel free to message us through the meetup app, and we'll do our best to connect you with the group!

Fundamentals: by do Jung Ishu/ the art of fighting

We are a real world Martial arts group. \ Called DO JUNG ISHU (the art of fighting) \ Based off of Jeet kune do we just continued where Bruce Lee left off. \ We have been around a while. \ Every week we get together and work technical skills and full contact spar. \ Almost all of the instructors have been in everything from street fights to the ring and some still compete in cage fighting. \ If you want to take your skills up, improve your confidence, gain self defense skills, get in better shape, test yourself or just want to kill some time and possibly get hit a bit come on down. \ We will be located at 3923 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214 Outside in the grass between the playground and horseshoe area. our instructors are normally in a black and red art of fighting shirt \ if you can not find us call or text me at 6143570295 Saturday 1:30pm Wednesday 5:45pm From Age 16 and up. attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them. \ Wear workout clothes. \ Bring a MOUTHPIECE! \ WE HAVE GLOVES. \ $10 per class $5 per class if you are wearing a club shirt Club shirts are $25 Hope to see you soon. \ let me know if you have any questions :)

The Completely Series - (P.M.) Gallery Hop/Short North - Field Shoot

Gallery Hop / Short North Photo walk and street shooting. OSU is playing Ball State at home at 12:30 pm so many fans may come to the Short North to celebrate. We typically walk North on one side of the street under we reach Standard Hall where we stop for a break...can you say food and drink?....and then make our way back south on the other side of the street. These events on the schedule are to serve three purposes: 1. These will serve as field shoots targeted at The Completely 2. Series homework. Generally, each of these shoots will focus on the homework assigned in the two prior weeks. So locations and topics will be picked to match those expectations. 3. Additionally, these events are to serve as placeholders for TIME OF DAY. They are intended to be modified as needed to capture SUNSET and/or EVENING light. They will likely be modified to time out for the IDEAL light on that day, at that location. EXPECT THEM TO BE MODIFIED as the time of year changes and/or schedule conflicts occur. But THERE WILL BE at least one evening shoot per month. 4. Lastly, they are also to serve as semi-monthly evening shoots for the group as a whole. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN THE COMPLETELY SERIES to attend any of these morning field shoots. Locations and specifics will be updated as the event date approaches.

Located close to Franklin Park Conservatory, this will be a nice place to get a bite to eat. Opportunity to gather post-meeting, tell stories (mostly lies), ask questions about burning photography/post-production issues, and ponder the future of our country and planet. Oh, and food... Location and time to be determined based on the specifics of the shoot immediately preceding this event.
