**Forest Hills Connections: Coffee, Conversation & Community (40+)** Looking to meet new people, make meaningful connections, and enjoy great conversation in a relaxed and welcoming environment? Forest Hills Connections is a social group for adults **45 and above** who are interested in building friendships, exploring new ideas, and connecting with others who are curious about life and the world around them. Each gathering will feature a different topic chosen by the group. Topics may include travel, books, current events, relationships, personal growth, arts and culture, local issues, life transitions, and ways we can positively impact ourselves and our community. We may also organize occasional walks, dinners, volunteer opportunities, concerts, and local events. You do not need to be an expert on any topic. The only things you need are a desire to meet new people, an open mind, and a curiosity about life. Whether you're new to the area, an empty nester, changing careers, retired, recently divorced, or simply looking to expand your circle, you'll find a welcoming place here. Cafe Conversations: Defending Your Community

Come join us at the Kudo Society in Teaneck, NJ where we will be having an open discussion on ICE, the effect it's having on our communities, and how we can take direct action to defend our neighbors from the masked kidnappers trying to invade them. Grab a drink, pull up a chair, and join the resistance. **How to find us:** We will have a table in the cafe, and a small sign with the groups name on it. The host will be wearing a red t-shirt.

Helping the homeless to get off the streets this winter

Hello all, https://bowery.volunteerhub.com/vv2/ I was extremely saddened by this weekend's brutal killing of 4 homeless people in lower manhattan. I have contacted the Bowery mission to help and see what we can do as a community to provide food and shelter for the homeless. This is an endless effort. I encourage you all to helpout whenever, and whatever you have to get them off the streets, and to clean up the shelter and talk to the government to get programs incentives to allow landlords to use up their vacant space, even if its a few months for the winter. Many of you do not know that homeless people choose to be outside, because they don't feel safe in shelters. Or because of their illness that they do not want contact with people or helping themselves. Bowery mission helps manhattan folks - with shelter/ food/ clothing. Please help 1 at a time. The temps are going to warm up next weekend and will be the perfect opportunity to go out and meet others your age while also getting some exercise and seeing the beautiful park. Our 50 & Over Social Walks are an extremely popular way to make new friends and meet others in a safe and unique setting. This event is very casual and non-awkward + our host will help to make introductions. Little Island provides a one-of-a-kind relationship between nature and art—a break from urban life and a connection to spontaneity and joy. It's become NYC's newest and hottest attraction! We'll make several stops along the park so that people can take pictures and admire the beautiful views. We'll circle the island a couple of times and then afterwards, we'll continue the walk along the Hudson River. During the walk, you will randomly be paired with others in the beginning then rotate at designated times so that you get to meet everyone participating. Afterwards, you're welcome to hang out and exchange contact info with others. Kick off Spring by joining fun and friendly singles for a sunset stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Our "Date Walks" are very casual and non-awkward way to meet others. Your host will be there to make introductions and will have everyone rotate, asking the men and women to switch so everyone gets a chance to talk with everyone.
