Hudson Gives Back

Join us for the upcoming Hudson County Community Initiative, a day dedicated to volunteering, empowering, and transforming our neighborhoods through unity and service. Together, community members, families, and local volunteers will come together to support positive change, strengthen connections, and help create a cleaner, safer, and brighter future for Hudson County. This event is more than volunteering — it is about building pride in our community, uplifting one another, and showing the power of teamwork when people come together with one mission: creating a better community for future generations. From community support activities to neighborhood improvement efforts, every contribution will make a meaningful impact. We are also looking to build stronger connections throughout the community. If you are part of an organization, collective, local group, or know of any organization interested in collaborating with us, we would love to connect and work together. Anyone interested in leading a volunteering initiative, community activity, or bringing new ideas to help our neighborhoods is always welcome. The weather on Monday is looking much better, so we are rescheduling our embayment from Saturday to Monday, May 25th.** **If you are able to help on Monday - great! This program exists only because of you! We can always use the help. No experience is necessary to volunteer. Helping the homeless to get off the streets this winter

Hello all, https://bowery.volunteerhub.com/vv2/ I was extremely saddened by this weekend's brutal killing of 4 homeless people in lower manhattan. I have contacted the Bowery mission to help and see what we can do as a community to provide food and shelter for the homeless. This is an endless effort. I encourage you all to helpout whenever, and whatever you have to get them off the streets, and to clean up the shelter and talk to the government to get programs incentives to allow landlords to use up their vacant space, even if its a few months for the winter. Many of you do not know that homeless people choose to be outside, because they don't feel safe in shelters. Or because of their illness that they do not want contact with people or helping themselves. Bowery mission helps manhattan folks - with shelter/ food/ clothing. Please help 1 at a time. IF you have other resourses to share or events to share, Please POST! Thanks all. Lisa, Thank you for reaching out. We were also stunned and heartbroken by this horrific attack. I truly admire the work that you do—I think the events of this weekend present a call for all of NYC’s nonprofits that deal with homelessness and its tangential issues to work together and form a unified front, so I am grateful for your interest and passion. ST. Lutheran's Church

THIS IS A REMINDER: members can sign up by calling the church and arrange to meet with other members. Every tues and Thurs, St Lutheran's church serve food to the needy in the neighborhood. Average 200 meals are served. 6 to 8 volunteers are needed. the meals are served between 1 to 2 pm. I understand this is the middle of the day.
