Bike ride + Spa #1 (Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Sauna Resort and Spa)

Bike ride + Spa #1 (Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Sauna Resort and Spa)

Sat, Jul 18, 7:00 AM
From Hedonism Bike Rides

# Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Route: Königs Wusterhausen → Bestensee → Storkow → Wendisch Rietz Distance: 38 km, mostly flat (70m elevation total) Mixed terrain. About 23 km asphalt, the rest gravel paths and forest tracks. Meeting point: Berlin Ostkreuz, RE7 direction Senftenberg, departure 09:02 Back in Berlin: \~21-22:00 We meet at Ostkreuz, take the RE7 to Königs Wusterhausen and start the ride from there. If the RE gets cancelled, then we will use S-Bahn with a connection in Grunau. The first section heads south through the Dahme-Seenland lake district. Flat terrain, a mix of bike paths and quiet forest/countryside roads. Near Bestensee, we pass the Großer Tonteich. If the weather holds, we can stop and swim. It's a small lake, not well-known, the kind of place you wouldn't find unless you were riding past it. From there, the route continues through pine forest and along the edge of farmland. In Storkow, we will stop for a lunch and to see the castle. We arrive at SATAMA on Scharmützelsee in the afternoon. The sauna park sits directly on the lake. In my opinion, it's one of the cosiest saunaparks in Brandenburg. Nine saunas, outdoor terraces, a pool, hammocks, and the direct access to the lake! We'll be there for several hours. At around 20-21 pm we board the RB36 train in Wendisch Rietz and change for RE7 in Königs Wusterhausen. Plan for arriving back in Berlin around 21-22:00. **Tickets** If you have the Deutschland-Ticket, you're fine and will only need the 24-hour bike ticker for VBB. Otherwise you'll need one Berlin ABC ticket, one VBB Gesamtnetz ticket and a 24-hour bicycle add-on for the VBB network (\~€7.50) **Bike** Trekking bikes and city bikes with wide tyres work. Road bikes, fixies, and rental bikes don't. **What to bring** * Water and snacks * Sauna towels, bathrobe, slippers (you can also rent it on-site) * Lights (front and rear, charged the night before) * Spare tube **SATAMA** Saunapark Entry is around €50 on weekends. It's a popular place, so book your ticket in advance at [satama-saunapark.de](https://www.satama-saunapark.de/). Each person books and pays individually. SATAMA is FKK. If that doesn't work for you, this isn't the right event.

History Bike Tours: Elektropolis Schöneweide

History Bike Tours: Elektropolis Schöneweide

Sun, Jul 19, 12:00 PM
From Berlin cycle and walk
4.9

# **Discover the Elektropolis of Berlin: Schöneweide** **Theme:** Cycle Loop + History + Social **Time:** 14:00 **Distance:** 30km **Suggested contribution:** €6 Join me on a cycling adventure through **Berlin's Elektropolis** — the birthplace of the city's electrical revolution. We will explore the industrial heritage of **Oberschöneweide**, following the traces of the companies, workers and inventions that helped transform Berlin into one of the world's leading industrial cities. **The plan:** We will – more or less – follow parts of the Berlin Industrial Heritage Cycle Routes, heading east along the southern bank of the Spree before exploring the industrial landscape of Schöneweide. With plenty of stops for stories, photos and discussion, we'll then cross back along the northern side of the river to explore Rummelsburg, and finish with a well-earned beer and perhaps something to eat together. I am an accredited tour guide in Berlin, specialising in telling stories about the city's industrial heritage. I charge a small fee of **€6** to organise the tour and share my knowledge. **Disclaimer:** Please note that all participants attend as group members, not as customers and are liable for themselves. Please read the group description in full for an explanation of terms and liabilities. **The Cycling** This is a gentle-paced sightseeing tour, not a race! 🚲 You need a well functioning bike, but it does not need to be sporty. All the terrain is on tarmac or good gravel. We will cycle around 30km with lots of stops to explore the history, architecture and landscapes along the way. As long as you have a reasonable bike and are comfortable cycling around Berlin, you should be absolutely fine to join. ## **What to Bring** 🚲 Spare inner tube suitable for your bike 💶 Cash for the contribution, drinks or snacks 🌧️ Waterproofs (Berlin weather!) ☀️ Suncream (on the optimistic days!) 🥪 Snacks and water 😊 A smile and curiosity about Berlin's hidden history ## **Highlights** ⚡ Discover why Schöneweide became known as Berlin's **"Elektropolis"** 🏭 Explore the remains of the huge AEG industrial complex and its role in shaping modern electricity 🔌 Learn how Berlin developed one of the world's first integrated electricity networks 🏗️ See where turbines, lamps, cables, valves and other electrical equipment were produced for cities around the globe 🏘️ Discover the workers' neighbourhoods built alongside Berlin's industrial expansion 🎙️ Visit the iconic Funkhaus Nalepastraße, a masterpiece of East German broadcasting architecture 🌊 Follow the Spree and understand how waterways powered Berlin's industrial growth 📸 Enjoy fantastic photography opportunities among some of Berlin's most fascinating industrial landscapes 🍺 Finish with a relaxed drink and continue the social together ## **About Schöneweide: Berlin's Elektropolis** Schöneweide was at the heart of Berlin's electrical revolution. From the 1890s onwards, companies such as **AEG** created a complete industrial ecosystem here — not only generating electricity, but also producing the machines, components and technologies needed to electrify cities around the world. Along this stretch of the Spree, kilometres of factories produced turbines, cables, lamps, motors and countless other inventions that powered the modern age. The rapid growth of industry brought thousands of workers to the area, transforming what had previously been a rural landscape into a thriving industrial town. Today, many of these buildings have entered a new chapter. Some stand empty, some are being redeveloped, and others have become creative spaces, museums and workshops. Yet they all remain powerful reminders of Berlin's industrial ambition and innovation. Come and explore this unique and often overlooked part of Berlin's history by bike. Hope to see you there! **Simon**

Cycle & swim - Warnitz to Templin

Cycle & swim - Warnitz to Templin

Sat, Jul 18, 7:10 AM
From Berlin Cycling
4.9

========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Warnitz > Groß Fredenwalde > Templin LEVEL: Intermediate DISTANCE: 45ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:50 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** One of my favourite areas to cycle is a "country far far away", aka the Uckermark. Arrived in Warnitz we have the chance to cool down before it is getting hot by jumping into the Oberuckersee, just 600 m from the train station. Hopefully refreshed we then head further to the [Herberge in Groß Fredenwalde](https://www.herberge-gross-fredenwalde.de/) where it is planned to have a very delicious lunch. Depending on how long that takes we head further to the [Straußenhof Berkenlatten](https://www.straussenhof-berkenlatten.de/) or straight to the Stiernsee to have another swim. This is the half of the route and after the swim we head further in one rush to Templin train station. There we catch the train to Oranienburg which also goes further to Ostkreuz (if that suits you better). **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 45ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some forrest or soft ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 08:50 - Berlin Südkreuz, at the ticket machine right after the NORTHERN moving staircase. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 16,20 way out / person and 13,90 way back, so it does make much sense to organise a BBT. So let me know if you want to join me there as well. But don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 09:10 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, platform 6, taking RE3 towards Stralsund 10:44 - arr. Warnitz, platform 1 **WAY BACK:** 17:16 - dep. Templin, taking RB12 18:27 - arr. Oranienburg, staying in there OR switching trains 19:01 - arr. in Ostkreuz w/RB12 18:46 - dep Oranienburg, S1 19:44 - arr, Yorckstr **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Kaiserbahnhof > Werbellinsee > Zur kleinen Moldau > Tempelfelde > Werneuchen LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 55ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** This time we enjoy not only crystal clear water but also Czech food and Beer! Starting in Kaiserbahnhof we first head for a refreshing swim at the southern end of the Werbellinsee, one of my favourite spots in Brandenburg. Right after (more or less, its 7km,) the swimming we can enjoy a very pittoresque and really lovely place. Surrounded by "Der kleine Maulwurf", "Soldat Schweijk" and all these figures which were (hopefully) brighten up your… younger day the[ "Zur kleinen Moldau"](https://www.facebook.com/zurkleinenmoldau/) is serving tasty beer and food in a very unique atmosphere. It is a place I never left not happy! After refreshed and filled we then head for a longer ride southbound, passing green forrests and quiet places. A last stop is planned in the [Oase Brasserie](https://www.oase-brasserie.de) in Tempelfelde to get a coffee (and hopefully cake) before we arrive in Werneuchen. From Werneuen we hop into the train which runs every hour and will bring us straight back to Berlin. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 55ish km ride, with mainly mixed and soft but also some solid ground. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 11,80 outbound and 5,- EUR for ABC back / person, so this time it does make sense to organise a BBT if at least 2 other ppl join me! If you're amongst them let me know! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 08:41 - dep.
