Bike Tour Along the Havel – Discover Spandau on Two Wheels!

Bike Tour Along the Havel – Discover Spandau on Two Wheels!

Sat, Nov 14, 10:00 AM
From Berlin Urban Cyclists

## 🚲 Bike Tour Along the Havel – Discover Spandau on Two Wheels! Join us for a relaxed and scenic bike ride through Spandau, following the beautiful Havel River and discovering some lovely hidden corners of Berlin! 📍 **Meeting point:** Lindenufer promenade, near **Reederei Lüdicke** (opposite Lindenufer 38–39). Easy to reach from S+U Bahnhof Spandau. ⏱️ **Duration:** Approximately 2–2.5 hours one way, at a comfortable pace. 🌿 **Our route:** We'll start at the picturesque Lindenufer promenade and cycle along the Havel towards Eiswerder, crossing the bridge with beautiful views over the water. From there, we'll continue towards Haselhorst and the beautiful **Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal**, enjoying peaceful waterside paths, greenery, and some surprisingly scenic corners of Berlin. 🍕 **Optional pizza or coffee stop:** Along the way, we can stop at a lovely waterfront pizzeria serving what I personally consider some of the best pizza in Spandau! It also offers a beautiful view of the Havel. A little warning, though: it's not the cheapest place! 😉 Alternatively, we can just stop for coffee or continue cycling. We'll decide together depending on what everyone feels like. 🚴 **The vibe:** Easygoing cycling, beautiful river views, fresh air, good company, and no rush. Bring your bike, some water, and a sense of adventure! **Please note:** The estimated cycling time is for one way only, so allow additional time for the return journey.

Let’s explore Wittenberg: Elbe sunset walk, old town + coffee & cake ☕

Sun, Nov 15, 9:30 AM
From Meetbytravel.com (Berlin)
4.7

Wittenberg is where Martin Luther sparked the Protestant Reformation in 1517, and it also happens to be one of the most charming towns along the Elbe, just 1.5 hours from Berlin by train. We’ll explore its UNESCO-listed old town: the Castle Church with the famous Theses Door, Luther’s house, painter Lucas Cranach’s courtyards and a beautiful market square. Then we’ll go for a short nature hike along the Elbe to watch the sun go down over the town’s skyline from the Elbe Bridge. In mid-November, with the last autumn colours and the early golden light, it’s the perfect time to see it! **The plan:** * **10:30** — Meet on the departure platform at Berlin Hbf, Platform 2 (sections A–D). We take the RE3 (3305) direct to Lutherstadt Wittenberg Hbf, departing Berlin Hbf at 10:41. The route is covered by the Deutschlandticket. * **12:07** — Arrival at Lutherstadt Wittenberg Hbf * **12:10–13:30** — We walk around the old town: the market square, Luther’s house, the Town Church and the Castle Church * **13:30–15:00** — Free time to explore the city, visit one of the museums or get some food * **15:00** — We meet in front of the Castle Church (Schlosskirche) and walk along the Elbe meadows to the Elbe Bridge * **\~16:15** — Sunset over Wittenberg from the Elbe Bridge 🌅 * **16:30–17:30** — We walk back to the city centre for a well-earned coffee & cake or a drink together ☕, then walk back to the station * **17:51** — We come back with the RE3 (3316) from Lutherstadt Wittenberg Hbf, arriving at Berlin Hbf at 19:17 (or you can choose what works best for you) **What to bring**: comfortable walking shoes, warm layers and a wind/rain jacket (it gets cold quickly after sunset), and cash: the 8€ meetup fee plus some extra for food, the café and any museum tickets. Bring water and your own snacks/food if you like. **Organizing fee**: 8€ cash, collected at the start. **IMPORTANT** — Join the WhatsApp group for updates: all updates are posted on WhatsApp. I can’t give personal support to anyone who doesn’t check the group or take the connections listed above, so please join and keep an eye on it: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rA3Akg2LGX8brmQkgArDH-PRnqjRwzHY4G5z4NMZbk8/edit?usp=sharing (The link is inside the document) Come for a day full of history, river views and golden light, and let’s explore Luther’s town together!
