It is a reasonable expectation that the group stays together. It is your responsibility to stay in line of sight. If you cannot walk at this pace, I will let you know of the next get out point. This is not negotiable. 🌸🐌🌸 As this is a walking group, bikes, ebikes, scooters, escooters, and pogo sticks are not compatible or welcome. 🌸👣🌸 Grading for my walks:
Easy: Mainly flat, suburban, loads of get out points, up to 14kms.
Easy-Medium: some stairs, a few uneven surfaces, up to 15kms.
Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. Tracks, uneven surfaces, steep inclinations and limited resources. 🌸👯‍♀️🌸 WALKING GUIDELINES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 🌸✍️🌸 Carry sufficient food and water (2 litres) for the expected conditions of the walk. Pls don’t separate from the group, unless you let someone know, preferably me. Weekend Sunset Bushwalk - Wollstonecraft to North Sydney ~11 km

**Join us for a scenic Sunset bushwalk exploring Gore Creek, Coal Loader, and Blues Point.** This moderately paced 2-hour hike offers stunning views with a mix of bushland, parks, and streets. **It has** **many inclines,** and **a good fitness level is essential to walk 4.5 km/h for 2+ hours**. **Here's what you need to know:** * **Start time:** 4:00 PM sharp, please arrive by 3:55 PM. Finish around 6:30 PM. * **Meeting point:** Wollstonecraft Station Park, outside Platform 2. * **Route:** Our walk starts with a bushwalk through Gore Creek, then heads to Berry Island for a quick stop to take in the views. We'll continue through bush trails towards the Coal Loader, passing Oyster Cove, then follow the Balls Head track before finishing at North Sydney Station (near Metro) via Waverton Park and Lavender Bay. Engadine to Heathcote via Woronora River, Mirang Pool and Lake Eckersley!

**If you like bush walking on unkept trails with a little bush-bashing, you’ll love this walk!** **See comments for meeting place and public transport option from Central. Always check your transport app on the morning in case things have changed.** **We will walk through Engadine and make our way to the Ferntree Pipeline Trail.** **We follow it along for a while and then start our descend into the bush towards Heathcote Road. We will need to be VERY CAREFUL crossing this busy roadway as drivers do not expect pedestrians and tend to resist slowing down when they see one (don’t ask how I know, just accept that I know).** **Once we get to the other side (less those that didn’t make it Lol!), we will follow Scouters Mountain Trail down to the creek, cross it and then follow the rough fire trail which goes through a few ups and downs (actually, mostly ups).** **When the fire trail ends (rather abruptly), we bush-bash our way down to the Woronora River.** **We have lunch here on some very shady rocks next to the river, enjoying the bush environment. We might even see an echidna or two.** **Then we reunite with the Pipeline Track and follow it to Mirang Pool and then Lake Eckersley, a very tranquil corner of the Woronora River before returning the same way and continuing to Heathcote Train Station.** **There are some lovely views along the way with a wide-ranging number of native plants (a good deal of them in flower) and some native animals (which hang around close to the trail because it is not a common one).** **We will aim to finish at Heathcote by 3.30pm, maybe even earlier, and head to The Arbour for a well-earned drink, before catching a train back to the city.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 15 kms.** **GRADE: Medium, with a few “up” hills.** **NOTE: No exit options along the way, unless in suburbia. Always check tides and sea conditions. 🌊 Coastal Epic: The 'Bloody Long Walk' ~20KM Leg 2 - Watson Bay - N Shore

Join us for the second leg of **coastal challenge over Eastern Beaches** \- from Watson Bay to North Shore as we take on our unofficial attempt of the scenic 'Bloody Long Walk' \(Sydney East route\)\. Originally hosted by the Mito Foundation each November\, we are tackling this spectacular coastal track our own way\. This is a demanding\, long\-distance trek requiring high fitness and endurance\, but the world\-class ocean views are worth every step\. The terrain features a diverse mix of coastal boardwalks, beach walking (sand), paved streets, stairs, and multiple headland ascents. * **Start:** 9:30 AM sharp at Watson Bay wharf exit - nearby Doyles on the Wharf. Please arrive a few minutes early. **Finish:** Milsons Point (followed by an optional dinner for those staying). * **Route:** We will start at Watsons Bay - and continue the harborside walk through Rose Bay - Double bay and past Mrs Macquarie's Chair for some breaks, before continuing to the Harbor Bridge and finally wrapping up at Milsons Point - near the station/ferry wharf. * **Gratuity:** A $5 contribution is appreciated to help cover our Meetup subscription and group running costs.
