Enjoy pretty Lake Macquarie (2 hours from Sydney) while zipping along on our catamarans and getting a good introduction to sailing. More exciting than being on a yacht ! We have 18-foot, 16-foot and 14-foot catamarans. No experience is required. Come for either the weekend or a day (we recommend coming for the weekend). If so, are you prepared to give others lifts ? * If you don't have your own transport, what suburb do you live in ? * Contact phone number. * Do you have a tent ? We can hire but you must have your own sleeping bag. * Can you swim (we wear lifejackets but cannot take non-swimmers) * Are you reasonably agile ? We don’t need super athletes, but you are sitting on a flat deck (not a seat) and you need to be able to move 3 metres to the other side of the boat at reasonable speed. A simple test is whether you can lie flat on a carpet and stand up within 4 seconds without using furniture. * We cannot take people weighing more than 95 kg (even if agile). COST: Sailing fee $70 (weekend); $40 (day), camping $26, lift $15, tent hire $10. You need your own sleeping bag. This is a group event and requires people to be on time to assist in rigging boats. If coming Saturday, arrive by 10:00 am ready for the outdoors. If coming for the day only be prepared to stay until 6pm. For Sunday, be prepared to arrive by 9am and stay until 5pm. Camping is at a caravan park with facilities. We are a long-established sailing group run by the YHA. We hold sailing weekends every 4 weeks. NO SAILING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Catamaran sailing is a fun and exciting way to experience the water, as the boats zip along in the wind. The boats are easy to sail and offer a good opportunity for anyone who wants to learn or experience sailing by getting some practice on either handling the jib, trapezing (hanging out the side of the boat on a harness) or skippering. We are not a "racing" group, we just like to be on the water and away from Sydney for a weekend, taking it easy.

Indonesian Rail Adventure

This is not an event but a **Call for Interest** in my 15 day Indonesian rail tour in June 2027. **Ketapang to Palembang: Bali to Banka** While many know Bali well it is surprising how few have ventured further and explored the other regions of Indonesia so with a passion for rail travel and an ambition to show others another side of Indonesia I have put together an amazing 15 day rail journey choosing Bali as our departure point and traveling the length of Java then crossing the Banda Straight to Southern Sumatra through to Palembang. Bundeena to Jibbon Head loop walk

This walk starts by crossing the Port Hacking river by ferry to Bundenna. We will then follow the coast past Jibbon Beach and check out the Jibbon Head Aboriginal Engravings. We will visit Little Jibbon Beach (pictured above) on our way to Jibbon Head. Afterwards we will head to Bundenna CSC for lunch before catching the 3:00pm ferry back to Cronulla. Start Location: 9:25am Cronulla Wharf - (Meet outside the wharf entrance) - We catch the 9:30am ferry. Don't be late - they won't wait and the next one is an hour later. Transport: The 8:30am Cronulla train from Central Station arrives Cronulla station at 9:21am. You must be on the 9:30am ferry to Bundenna from Cronulla wharf. (about 5min walk from train station). Distance: 9km 🤣 Terrain: Bush tracks, Rocks, Sand and Sealed Roads. Time: Around 4 hrs walking, 1 hr eating WHAT TO BRING. Medium: Stairs, rocks, coastal beaches/sand, ups, downs, get out points limited, up to 17kms
Medium-Hard: uneven surfaces, need to take extreme care and be hike fit. Few get out points. THE GOD OF HIKING sculpted a MASTERPIECE, and it's called: “HANGING ROCK”

To think that 3 Sisters is all the tourist rage in Blue Mountains when an easy 5kms Trail Hike takes you to a **HANGING ROCK** destination that can only be described as… *Stunning. Magical. Magnificent. Dangerous (can be). Unforgettable.* **The best view in all of The Blue Mountains? Hanging Rock is absolutely incredible.** Let’s hike it, and let’s add “Grotto Canyon”… a hidden, cool-calm waterfall in a cave-like setting. **THE HIKE. HANGING ROCK (pic on left)** Hanging Rock… last weekend, I didn’t know what to expect when I first hiked it. Sure, I’d seen the photos / videos, and it looked impressive. My advice to you? *Ignore the photos.* It’s so, so much more amazing in person. The sheer rock faces are incredible to be close to. The contrasting rock colours with the background green-ish Blue Mountains is so picturesque… 20minutes at Hanging Rock is a destination you won’t forget. And I wanna see it again. As far as easy hikes go in The Blue Mountains this one is it. It’s a flat 5kms out. 5kms back (we’ll move with passion). It’s a lovely fire trail journey with wildflowers and views in the distance…. And then? You can sense Hanging Rock is about to appear. And when it does, it’s “WOW!!!!!!” At this point the hike down brings some adventure… safety is key, but it’s all proper fun and amazing photos. **LUNCH.** Spikes Bistro is a great spot on Blackheath Golf Course for lunch and a post-hike beer. I’ve gotten to know the owner – the nicest Sri Lankan family, and their food is really good with top (they always give us the best table on the balcony) views over the golf course. Woodford Train Station Wheel Gully Waterhole; 8km\, morning tea\. 2\. Wheel Gully to Oaks Picnic Area; 6km\, lunch/bathroom\. 3\. Oaks to Red Hand Cave; 7km\. 4\. RH cave to Glenbrook Train Station; 7km\. Many Dam to Manly Ferry Wharf: 8km\. What more could you possibly want from a day out!!! **Distance:** 16KM **Type of Walk:** Great bush walking in the first half, including little known trails leading onto the back of Manly Dam. Parks, well-formed paths for the rest of the day. **Difficulty:** Medium. **Walking Pace:** Steady pace all day and average 4.5 km per hour. **Meeting Place + Transport:** We meet at **Chatswood Train/Bus Interchange** to catch the **160X Service Bus**, departing **Bus Stand A at 10:02AM**, through to Forestville.
