I hope you are having a wonderful Summer so far. Please join us for the first art gallery MeetUp walk of this Fall on 10/03/26 at 11 AM. Chelsea is about to have dozens of openings starting on September 10th. This walk includes new solo shows by international artists, including painting, sculpture, photography, and more as available. Join us as we explore a fantastic museum-quality show of sculptures and others works by Lynda Benglis, spanning five decades of her career. Benglis broke new ground in 1968 by pouring latex on the floor of her studio, essentially blurring the lines between painting and sculpture. At Lisson Gallery, we will explore Hiroshi Sugimoto's surprising large-scale photography of nature and wildlife. At Olney Gleason, you will love the 30 or so small mysterious pastels by Swedish-born London-based Sara Anstis.

Climbs & Lines @ Metrorock

You can climb all day with the 15$ day-pass; however, Climbs & Lines will start at 7pm and go on for 2 hours (with short breaks in between). We’ll start with some warm ups and longer poses on the wall and in the air. You can finally draw models like you’ve never been able to (except from photographs). For 7-10min poses we will gradually transition to hybrid (some models on the ground and some suspended) and finally make our way back to the ground for the last longer poses (15-20min). We’ll wrap up around 9, show what we made, and maybe even climb together after! :) Drawing supplies, Bathrooms, Snacks and Water available For questions contact Zovi at @zoviism

Let's meet in Columbus Park and then venture around to sketch the colorful streets of Chinatown: Doyers, Pell, Mott. There won't be much sitting room available for this one, so we can stand, or if you have a folding art chair, bring it. **We'll meet by the pavilion in Columbus Park.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. In each 3-hr session, we will draw from a live model, beginning with quick poses to warm up, and then gradually extend the pose length to a final 1 hour pose to finish the evening. First timers welcome. All levels of experience and skill are invited. This is an uninstructed event is for anyone who enjoys or is curious about drawing from a nude figure model. Do your own thing. The environment is laid back, yet professional, and we want everyone to enjoy themselves. No photography allowed. Bring your own beverages. Great tunes will be played, great models will be hired, and we'll make some fantastic artwork. These sessions are moderated by David Bell and Joe Scarpulla, who run Big Object animation studio. David and Joe are stop-motion animators and visual artists, and David is an instructor at Parsons and SVA. RATES 3-hr session: $20 cash / $25 venmo Please RSVP. We operate on a first come-first serve basis. WHAT TO BRING: Your drawing/painting materials (no oils), $20, BYOB. Directions: We are a few blocks from the Greenpoint station on the G and from the Greenpoint stop on the East River Ferry. Note: When you get to the building, sometimes the elevator access is limited in the evenings to tenants with scan cards. If they restrict elevator access, there will be signs indicating who to call to get upstairs. We are on the 3rd floor.
