Climbs & Lines @ Metrorock

You can climb all day with the 15$ day-pass; however, Climbs & Lines will start at 7pm and go on for 2 hours (with short breaks in between). We’ll start with some warm ups and longer poses on the wall and in the air. You can finally draw models like you’ve never been able to (except from photographs). For 7-10min poses we will gradually transition to hybrid (some models on the ground and some suspended) and finally make our way back to the ground for the last longer poses (15-20min). We’ll wrap up around 9, show what we made, and maybe even climb together after! :) Drawing supplies, Bathrooms, Snacks and Water available For questions contact Zovi at @zoviism

Painting 10th Ave

In the 1800s, Tenth Avenue was known as Death Avenue thanks to the at-grade freight railway. In the 1900s, Robert Moses took that railway off of the street and elevated it through the middle of the block instead (being a force of demolition even when saving lives). In the 2000s, the abandoned railway was transmogrified into the High Line. Our meeting point will be at 11am in the little sidewalk park at the northwest corner of W17th and 10th Ave. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 2pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day. Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!

Sketch the Streets of Chinatown!

Let's meet in Columbus Park and then venture around to sketch the colorful streets of Chinatown: Doyers, Pell, Mott. There won't be much sitting room available for this one, so we can stand, or if you have a folding art chair, bring it. **We'll meet by the pavilion in Columbus Park.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. Take a bunch! • Sorry, but please leave the dogs at home; they tend to step on the artwork. SECOND TUESDAYS Life Drawing Session

Grab your pad and drawing tools and escape the world for a couple of hours with your friends at The Old Stone House Park! Draw the human figure! Join us for a 2 1/2 hour life drawing session, 1 & 1/2 hour of gestures and short poses, ending with 1 hour of long poses, give or take. Bring your tools (no acrylics, oils or sprays please). Intermediate Figure Drawing (3 sessions)

Class dates: October 12\, 19\, & 26 \| 6:30\-9:30pm Learn to shade and render complex forms on the human figure in graphite, working with one model and the same pose for three sessions. Gaby will guide you from capturing accurate gesture and proportion, to understanding light physics and gradients to render realistic volumes. This class is suited for intermediate and advanced artists.
