The Marin Art Journal Group is a casual gathering where you can create your own art, meet wonderful people, and have fun! We meet 2-3 times a month for a relaxing experience, exploring different art forms, learning from one another, and connecting as a community. Please bring your own supplies. If you don't have any, we can provide them for a $5 fee. We love supporting Double Rainbow and Autistry, so feel free to grab a cup of coffee, a sandwich, a delicious homemade pastry, and of course, ice cream!

We start with 2 minute warm ups, with each set of poses getting a little longer. We usually finish the evening with 20 minute poses. The gallery will provide chairs and tables. Easels on request. Bring your own paper, pencils, pens, etc. Snacks and water will be served. Please register in advance.

I've dropped her details below. **Details**: The Bay Area Plein Air Painters Meetup group has been specially invited to be part of this extraordinary 24-hour [Moby-Dick Marathon](https://maritime.org/md2026/) at the [SF Maritime Museum ](https://maritime.org/)! Come capture the beautiful afternoon light, Aquatic Park Cove, the historic museum, and the unique energy of the marathon as Moby-Dick is read aloud inside. It’s a rare opportunity to paint, explore, and be part of a truly memorable San Francisco tradition! **Meetup 1 — Saturday\, September 12 \| 1:00–4:00 PM** **Maritime Museum, 900 Beach Street, San Francisco** **Meetup 2–Saturday Sep 12, 6-9pm** **Meetup 3- Sunday Sep 13, 9-12** Our designated painting area is the 3rd-floor veranda overlooking Aquatic Park Cove. You may also paint from outside the building. 🎨 All mediums are welcome. Watercolor, sketching, and pastels are especially encouraged inside the museum because of its historic terrazzo floors. Artists working in other mediums are encouraged to set up outside or in less sensitive areas of the building to help protect the historic terrazzo floors. Please bring a tarp or floor covering whenever possible. Pack in, pack out, leave your area clean, and dispose of paint water outside the museum. Come enjoy the afternoon light, soak up the atmosphere, and be part of this wonderfully unusual painting experience! Bring your easel and paint the magic! 🐋🌊🎨 **Moby Dick Guidelines** * Attendees can come and go as they please. * If you do intend on staying for a while, wear comfortable clothes. Our chairs are not known for being “all nighters”. There will be limited spaces for sleeping bags. * Costumes are encouraged! * Drugs/alcohol/weapons/vaping are not allowed. Usage will result in being asked to leave. * We will have free coffee available. Light snacks are allowed. * The museum is an artifact within itself. **We ask that you be respectful of the building and leave no trace.** * We will have some extra copies of Moby Dick on hand but feel free to bring your own. * The event may be recorded or live streamed. Your picture may be taken for promotional purposes. * No animals other than service dogs are allowed. Bay Area Regional Nature Journal Club – Field Trip @ Albany Bulb, Albany CA

**Journal with folks from across the Bay Area at the Regional Field Trip!** *Hosted by Wild Wonder Foundation and the Albany Bulb Nature Journal Club.* Come nature journal at the urban wilds of Albany Bulb. This bayside park has a wide variety of flora and fauna...native plants, birds in the estuary, trees, a small beach, views of the bay over to SF and Marin. Bring your own journaling supplies and spend the day discovering the fascinating ecology of the Bulb while expanding, practicing, and sharing your nature journal skills. * Learn more about the Albany Bulb here: [www.albanybulb.org](https://www.albanybulb.org) * Free; Suggested $20 donation for the [Wild Wonder Foundation](https://www.wildwonder.org/) Meetup host: Kate Rutter **Weather note:** If light rain is forecast for the day of the field trip, grab an umbrella and come anyway. There’s not a lot of cover, but we can journal the wet conditions! However, if forecast is for icky weather, check the Meetup site on the morning of the field trip to see if it's cancelled. Also note that conditions at the Bulb are variable. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat. The Bulb can get windy, so binder clips and wind jacket needed. **Transit & Parking:** * Public Transit is available, but it’s a bit of a walk. Take AC Transit #72 to the San Pablo+Marin Ave stop. From there, walk \~1.1 miles West. This path includes some tricky road crossings, but it’s possible. * Please post on the Meetup group for carpools. * 2-hour parking is available in two lots along Buchannan Street, and is very limited. Come a little early to be sure to get a closer spot. **How to find us:** Meet at the bench at the roundabout and near the restroom at the start of the Albany Waterfront Trail. Then we'll head out for journaling, either in small clusters, or solo, whichever you prefer. * We break for lunch and a journal share at 12:30pm. Bring something to eat, and something to share (potluck is fun!) * We head out again around 1:30 for another round of journaling. * We'll meet again at 3:30 for a final closing circle and connection time, then wrap. **Good to know:** * Open to all ages and ability levels. * Free, no registration is necessary (but it's nice if you RSVP on Meetup. $ suggested donation to support the Wild Wonder Foundation. * No potable water at the site. * Accessibility: mostly flat and accessible pathways; benches and seating.
