Book Swap Meetup 📚📚📚

Book Swap Meetup 📚📚📚

Sat, Aug 29, 11:00 AM
From Book Swap Brunch 20-30s
4.8

Basic Ideas: 🌞 📚☕ Any books sitting there collecting dust? Some holiday gifts? Or it’s a book that has changed your life that you want to share? Feel free to bring book(s) to discuss or swap, we usually have more books than people in the end, so feel free to pop along just to have a chat as well. Aiming for every 4 weeks book swap meetup. Note: The event is free to attend, so the only cost for you will only be buying a drink at the location, so coffee/tea/beer etc.

Book shop exploring (Greenwich, Cutty Sark)

Book shop exploring (Greenwich, Cutty Sark)

Sat, Aug 15, 11:00 AM
From Book Swap Brunch 20-30s
4.8

In the digital age💻📡📱, do you still like getting a physical book to read? Where do you buy them? Amazon? Waterstone? Blackstone? How about join us for a bookshop crawl, let's try to find some hidden gems of independent bookshops. (Or just tag along for a chat😁) Find out more book shops to try, this time we will be going to further north in London than usual. We will meet at Camden Town tube station, then walk along mostly along the main road to Tufnell Park station. There will be 4 book shops in total, never been to most of them, so it will be some new experience for me as well. Upon finishing, we can find somewhere to sit and chat about books. The time is just a guidance, some shops take longer and some are less. If you ever want to stay in one shop for longer (I know, been there, done that😂) feel free to do so, you can join us at other shops. (See itinerary below) Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of the shops, so you are not obliged to buy any books, just get whatever you like. *** 📚💃🏼 📖💃🏿☕️ ITINERARY ☕️💃🏾🍷💃🏻🍴📚 Looking to do one near Cutty Sark in Greenwich, not too many bookshops, so probably will be an hour one overall for the shops. We will all meet up at Cutty Sark DLR Station. Don't worry if you are late, join us in along the walks. Then the tour shall begin! 1: Greenwich Book Time Address: 277 Greenwich High Rd, London SE10 8NB 2: Rare Books & Curios Address: 8 Greenwich Market, London SE10 9HZ 3: Oxfam Bookshop Address: 2 College Approach, London SE10 9HY 4: Waterstones Address: 51 Greenwich Church St, London SE10 9BL \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Wow, you made it, hopefully you have found some books that will make you happy🎈🎉✨. For people who likes to have more socials or talk more about books (or just to show off your purchases😆), we can find some place for a cup of coffee or a late lunch.

Balancers Community Volunteering - Clothing Distribution

Thu, Aug 27, 5:00 PM
From Balancers - Expand Your Circle
4.4

Hi Balancers, We believe community is about more than meeting new people. It's also about showing up for those who need support. As part of our ongoing partnership with Refugee Community Kitchen, we're inviting you to join us for a different kind of volunteering session. This time, we’re joining **Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK)** at their Goodge Street service to provide essential clothing to people who need it. 👕 **HOW IT WORKS** We’ll meet at **6:00 PM in front of the Dominion Theatre**. From there, we’ll cross the road to Primark and split into small groups. Each group will be given a few essential clothing items to find and buy. Once we’re done, we’ll walk about **5 minutes to Goodge Street**, join the RCK service and distribute the clothing while their team serves food. 💷 **CHIPPING IN** We’ll collect contributions from the group and use the full amount to buy the clothing that evening. If you can, **bring some cash** — but there’s absolutely no pressure to contribute much. Even **£1 helps**, and you’re just as welcome to volunteer regardless of how much you contribute. 💬 **Join our Volunteer WhatsApp group for updates and coordination:** [https://chat.whatsapp.com/Hzm7P7Tr0QD92MnwmpHTVK?s=cl&p=a&ilr=1](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Hzm7P7Tr0QD92MnwmpHTVK?s=cl&p=a&ilr=1) 🤝 **NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED** We’ll explain everything on the day. Just bring yourself and be ready to help. **Good to know:** 📍 Meet: In front of the Dominion Theatre ⏰ 6:00 PM 👕 Primark is directly across the road 🚶 Goodge Street is around 5 minutes away As always, Respect, Kindness and Authenticity come first. We’re there to support people with dignity and without judgment. Let’s keep showing what our community can do when we act with heart. See you there 💛

It's a sustainable and fun way to refresh your wardrobe without spending money. In London, these swaps offer a great opportunity to meet new people and embrace eco-friendly fashion.

You can discover upcoming clothing swap events in London by searching Meetup for groups focused on sustainable fashion or community gatherings. These pages will detail events that match your schedule and locations, helping you find opportunities near you.

Yes, there are Meetup groups dedicated to organizing and hosting clothing swaps. Once you join, you'll receive notifications about upcoming events and can engage with fellow members interested in sustainable fashion initiatives.

Absolutely! Clothing swaps are typically open to everyone interested in sustainable fashion and community engagement. Just check the event details for any specific requirements, such as bringing a set number of clothing items.

It's best to RSVP for clothing swap events to ensure your spot. Organizers often have limited capacity, and by RSVPing, you get updates and important information to prepare for the event.

It's generally advised to bring clean, gently-used clothing items that you'd be happy to exchange. Some events may have guidelines on the number or type of items, so it's good to check the event specifics.

Besides clothes, many swaps include accessories, shoes, and sometimes even household items. Always review the event description to understand what items are permissible for swapping.

The frequency of clothing swaps varies, with some groups hosting monthly or quarterly events. It's a good idea to join Meetup groups, as they regularly update schedules and announce new events.

You're free to come and go as you please, but experiencing the full event can enhance your interaction with the community and increase your chances of finding items you like.
