Basic Ideas: 🌞 📚☕ Any books sitting there collecting dust? Some holiday gifts? Or it’s a book that has changed your life that you want to share? Feel free to bring book(s) to discuss or swap, we usually have more books than people in the end, so feel free to pop along just to have a chat as well. Aiming for every 4 weeks book swap meetup. Note: The event is free to attend, so the only cost for you will only be buying a drink at the location, so coffee/tea/beer etc.

Book Swap Social Event - Make New Friends Who Love Books

Do you have spare books lying around your home? Do you want to read new interesting books for free while socializing with interesting people? This is the event for you. We will enjoy nice drinks and snacks together at a beautiful lounge bar in London. You can bring your books and exchange them with whoever has the books you want to read. Since this is a Science and Philosophy book club, it would be great for you to bring non-fiction books that are insightful and thought-provoking. If you want to bring fiction books that are scientifically or philosophically insightful, feel free to bring those as well. Since it is a social event, I encourage everyone to make deep meaningful conversations and make new friends. You can come alone or bring your friends with you. If you come alone, there is no need to be shy or scared. I will welcome you and introduce you to cool interesting people to speak with. Also feel free to come even if you forget to bring any books.

Balancers Community Volunteering - Clothing Distribution

Hi Balancers, We believe community is about more than meeting new people. It's also about showing up for those who need support. As part of our ongoing partnership with Refugee Community Kitchen, we're inviting you to join us for a different kind of volunteering session. This time, we’re joining **Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK)** at their Goodge Street service to provide essential clothing to people who need it. 👕 **HOW IT WORKS** We’ll meet at **6:00 PM in front of the Dominion Theatre**. From there, we’ll cross the road to Primark and split into small groups. Each group will be given a few essential clothing items to find and buy. Once we’re done, we’ll walk about **5 minutes to Goodge Street**, join the RCK service and distribute the clothing while their team serves food. 💷 **CHIPPING IN** We’ll collect contributions from the group and use the full amount to buy the clothing that evening. If you can, **bring some cash** — but there’s absolutely no pressure to contribute much. Heart-centred, kind and respectful touch blesses both the receiver and giver. The nervous system relaxes, the breath deepens, the heart rate slows and we feel connected, calm and quiet. Many of us can feel deprived of physical contact and touch and yet it is so vital to our wellbeing and happiness. Even if we have a lot of sex, a sensual element to it can be missing; that sweetness of just being held. In this clothed workshop, we will work together to create a safe space that meets people’s varying need for physical contact with others. No experience necessary. Please book your place in advance. L Community Nights is our monthly social for lesbian and bisexual women in London. Our first night sold out, so we're back for round two. We're taking over a dedicated area inside the Hall at the Big Belly. It's a fantastic venue with a great atmosphere and we'll have a dedicated area to ourselves for the evening. There's also a comedy show on upstairs the same night. It's completely optional, but your ticket covers it if you fancy popping down for some stand-up.
