A beautiful high-mountain hike in the Catalan Pyrenees, reaching one of the classic summits of the Ripollès, with open ridges, alpine meadows and stunning views over the eastern Pyrenees. ¡No pasa nada! Moshe ps: Cualquier pregunta, enviarnos un WhatsApp al +34 699 444 539 \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 🥾 **The Plan** We’ll head to the Ripollès for a beautiful high-mountain hike to the top of Balandrau, a 2,585 m summit located near Vall de Núria and the upper Ter and Freser valleys. The route starts from the Collet de la Gralla area, where we’ll park directly on the dirt track, just where the hiking trail begins. The access road is an easy dirt track. From there, we’ll begin a steady ascent through open mountain terrain, gradually gaining altitude with beautiful views over the surrounding valleys and Pyrenean peaks. The landscape is wide, peaceful and very characteristic of this part of the Ripollès: grassy slopes, open ridges and that special high-mountain feeling without needing a very long approach. As we get closer to the summit, the route becomes more panoramic. Reaching the top of Balandrau is the big reward of the day: a spacious summit with incredible views over the eastern Pyrenees, the Vall de Núria area, Coma de Vaca, the Freser valley and the surrounding mountains. After enjoying the summit, we’ll continue the circular route back towards the starting point, with time to enjoy the views, take photos and soak in the mountain atmosphere before heading back to Barcelona. This is not a technically difficult hike in summer conditions, but it is still a high-mountain route. The terrain is open and exposed to weather, so good hiking shoes, proper clothing and a decent fitness level are required. **Good to know** Balandrau is one of the classic summits of the Ripollès and has recently gained extra attention thanks to a film/documentary inspired by its mountain history. Our route focuses on the beautiful side of this peak: open ridges, alpine meadows and panoramic views over the eastern Pyrenees. **How to sign up?** Step 1: 👋 Sign up for Meetup on the attendee list Step 2: 💰Make the payment of €40 in our website: [https://www.yepalo.com/events/hike-up-to-the-top-of-balandrau-2-585-m](https://www.yepalo.com/events/hike-up-to-the-top-of-balandrau-2-585-m) IMPORTANT: This is the only way to ensure a place for the activity. **🚦 Difficulty Level: Medium** This hike requires good physical condition and is suitable for people who are used to hiking for 6–8 hours in mountain terrain. Distance: 10,3 Km 🔘🔘⚪⚪⚪ Total elevation gain: +664 m 🔘🔘🔘⚪ ⚪ Technical difficulty: 🔘🔘⚪⚪ ⚪ There are no technical climbing sections, but the route takes place in high-mountain terrain. 🚗 **How do we get there?** By shared private cars from Barcelona. During the booking process you’ll be invited to tell us if you have a car and how many people can come with you in the car. You can also meet us at destination at 9AM. Every passenger will pay 20 euros to the driver for gas and tolls. Depending on the weather forecast and temperatures, we may decide to leave earlier from Barcelona. 🎒**Bring** * Mountain shoes (high boots are highly recommended) * Comfortable mountain clothing * Warm layer / fleece * Windproof / waterproof jacket * Sun protection: sunglasses, cap, sunscreen * Picnic + snacks * Water: at least 1.5L, ideally 2L * Walking sticks recommended (we have spare ones if needed) * Extra T-shirt to change before getting back into the cars **👥 Group Size:** Maximum of 12 participants. 🤠 **Guide**: Toni 💰 **Price:** *€40* **🚗** Special price for the first 2 drivers: €25 If you have a car and can take 3 people or more from the meeting point in Barcelona, choose the driver ticket. The final access to the start of the hike is via a mountain forest track (5KM). It is suitable for normal cars and is not recommended for very low cars. ➕ **Price includes:** Official mountain guide Accident insurance + civil liability insurance ➖ **Not included:** Transportation (€20 to be paid directly to the driver) **Cancellation policy**: Change of plans? No problem! If you cancel more than 72 hours in advance, we’ll give you a 100% voucher valid for 3 months so you won’t miss out on future adventures. 🌟 Late cancellation? Oh no... in that case, full payment is required. However, if you can’t make it and we manage to fill your spot with someone else, we’ll offer you a voucher for a future activity. ✨ Extra info: If the weather's acting up, we might switch things up for your safety and maximum fun. ☔🌞 Moshe ¡YEPALO! Alpine lakes, ancient forests and peaks rising to almost 3,000 metres make it a place everyone should visit at least once! 🌲 We will spend a night at the famous Refugi d’Amitges, climb an optional mountain summit and finish the trip with rafting on a wild Pyrenean river. One of our biggest adventures of the summer! ☀️ **🥾 DAY 1 — ESPOT, SANT MAURICI & REFUGI D’AMITGES** We begin in the mountain village of Espot. Our heaviest belongings will be transported by jeep, so we can hike with light backpacks. The trail takes us through an impressive ancient forest before reaching Lake Sant Maurici — one of the most beautiful lakes in the Pyrenees. 🏞️ After a break, we collect our backpacks and continue past another alpine lake towards Refugi d’Amitges. In the evening, we enjoy a hearty mountain dinner and spend the night surrounded by lakes and peaks. **⛰️ DAY 2 — TUC DE RATERA & WATERFALLS** After breakfast, we continue higher into the national park. Those who wish can climb Tuc de Ratera, at 2,861 metres, and enjoy incredible panoramic views over the mountains and lakes. The summit is optional. Anyone who prefers a more relaxed day can skip the climb and simply enjoy the mountain scenery. We then descend along a different trail, passing waterfalls, viewpoints and beautiful mountain lakes. 💧 Later, we return towards Espot and spend the night in a cosy guesthouse. After two days in the mountains, a warm shower and comfortable bed will feel amazing! **🚣 DAY 3 — RAFTING** On the final day, we exchange hiking boots for wetsuits and helmets! Professional instructors will guide us through the river’s rapids and winding sections. We will divide into teams, with options for a more exciting or slightly calmer experience. After rafting, we enjoy a final lunch together, share our favourite moments and begin the journey back to Barcelona. Three unforgettable days of mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls and rafting! ❤️ 👋 **MEETING POINT** 📍 8.00 a.m. Exactly here: [VIVARI](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Vivari+Coffee+%26+Bakery+-+408/@41.4316089,2.1833998,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x12a4bd0e26a90b21:0xefed59176b44f8f2!8m2!3d41.4316142!4d2.1835374!16s%2Fg%2F11gk99zyv_?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDIxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D) 📌 **HIKING DESTINATIONS** 🗺️ * Aigüestortes & Estany de Sant Maurici 🏘️🏞️ * Tuc de Ratera & Estany del Port de Ratera 🏔️💧 * Rafting in Llavorsí 🏔️🌊🚣 📊 **TECNICAL DATA** 🥾🍃 **2 days hiking** 📏 Distance: **13–14 km/per day** ⏱️ Duration: **5 hours + 1 hour rest** ⬆️ Elevation: **500 m** 💪 Difficulty: **moderate** 🐘🐘🐘 🚣🍃 **Sunday (Rafting)** 📏 Distance: **14 km** ⏱️ Duration: **2h 30m** 💰 **PRICE:** **325 €** 💶✨ ✅ INCLUDED 🎁 • 🥾 Hiking in Aigüestortes National Park with certified guide + assistant 👨‍🏫👥 • 🚖 Possible taxis inside the park • 🛡️ Accident insurance (mountain + rafting) • 🛏️ 2 nights: Mountain Refuge + Albergue (shared room) • 🍳🥪 Breakfasts + picnics on Saturday & Sunday • 🍽️ Dinner on Friday! • 🚣 Rafting activity: professional guides + technical equipment + photos 📸 ❌ **NOT INCLUDED** • 🚗 Gasoline Barcelona ↔️ (shared between participants) • 🍽️ Saturday dinner in Espot • 🍻 Bars / other expenses 🚗💰 **PRICE FOR DRIVERS:** **250 €** (participants will pay you gasoline) ⛽ **🎒 TAKE WITH YOU 🧳** 🥾 Winter hiking clothes (see video ➞ **[SUMMER GEAR](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89gQ-XrxVkM)** ) ❄️🧥 🥪 Food for 1-day picnic + 💧 water 🎒 Backpack for one day (30–40 L) *❗IMPORTANT NOTE❗⚠️* Each participant is responsible for evaluating whether their physical level is adequate 💪 and for bringing proper equipment (clothes, shoes) 🥾🧥 In no case can the person who proposes the activity be considered responsible for possible damages derived from participation in it. **👤 CANCELLATIONS 🔁** ✅ Up to 15 days in advance: refund deposit or change to another hike 💶🔁 ✅ Less than 1 week before: no refund, only if we find a substitute 🙏 [☀️](https://emojipedia.org/sun/) **Our Instagram**: [Get to know us!](https://www.instagram.com/mamut_hiking/?hl=ru) [😋](https://getemoji.com/) **Our Facebook**: [Join our group:)](https://www.facebook.com/mamuthiking) 🥰 Join our [WhatsApp ](https://chat.whatsapp.com/JayBorMV8jyE7LipWQPyv1?mode=gi_t)group to know about upcoming hikes! *After joining, you will receive the group link, and there you’ll see all additional info like meeting point and detailed updates 📲✨*
