Mixed-Culture Couple Challenges – The Systemic Constellation View

Mixed-Culture Couple Challenges – The Systemic Constellation View

Sat, Jul 25, 9:00 AM
From Conscious Business & Ventures
4.9

Facilitated by Illi Adato - Founder & Head of London School of Systemic & Family Constellations. Workshop Date: Saturday July 25th 2026 Time: 10am-6pm Venue: Kailash Centre - London NW8 **REGISTER HERE:** **[https://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges](https://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges)** I warmly invite you to a unique, experiential workshop I’ll be facilitating in July, about a subject that is very close to my heart: **“Mixed-Culture Couple Challenges – The Systemic Constellation View”** In our increasingly interconnected world, more and more couples are building relationships that bridge different cultures, religions, languages, and family traditions. While this can be a source of great richness, it can also bring hidden tensions, misunderstandings, and repeating conflicts that are hard to explain with logic alone. This workshop offers a Systemic and Family Constellations perspective on those challenges. Together, we will explore how our relationships are shaped not only by our personal histories, but also by: Unresolved entanglements in our family systems Transgenerational trauma carried across generations Invisible loyalties to parents, grandparents, or important figures in our family histories Cultural and historical events (war, migration, colonisation, discrimination, loss) that still echo in the present. **What this workshop is about** Using the method of systemic and family constellations, we will gently bring to light: How each partner may be unconsciously loyal to their family of origin and its values, beliefs, and cultural norms. How unprocessed grief, shame, exclusion, or trauma in one or both family lineages can surface in the couple’s dynamic. How cultural expectations around gender roles, religion, money, sexuality, children, and extended family can create tension or confusion. How histories of migration, exile, racism, or social rupture may affect a couple’s capacity for safety, trust, and closeness. Through guided constellation processes, participants will have the chance to: See their own relationship from a wider, systemic perspective. Recognise which burdens they may be carrying on behalf of their families or cultures. Honour the stories and suffering of previous generations. Gently disentangle from what does not belong to them. Create more space for choice, connection, and mutual respect in the relationship. **Who is this for?** This workshop is intended for: Couples formed across different cultures, countries, ethnic groups, races, religions, or languages. Individuals from mixed or migrant backgrounds who wish to better understand their patterns in relationships. Therapists, coaches, and professionals who work with multicultural couples and want to deepen their systemic understanding. **You are welcome to attend:** As a couple, if both partners are open to exploring together. As an individual, if your partner cannot attend or prefers not to, or if you are reflecting on a past or current mixed-culture relationship. No previous experience with Systemic or Family Constellations is required. **What you can expect ?** During the workshop, we will combine: Short theoretical inputs on systemic and family constellation principles. Guided exercises to explore your own family system, loyalties, and cultural roots. Constellation sessions (in the full group or smaller groups) to explore couple dynamics Time for reflection, integration, and questions. The space will be held with respect, confidentiality, and sensitivity to cultural and personal boundaries. You are always free to participate at the level that feels right for you; observing can be just as powerful as taking an active role in a constellation. **Possible themes we may explore** Feeling torn between cultures, families, or countries. Conflicts around religion, tradition, or rituals (weddings, funerals, celebrations, child-rearing). Tension between individual freedom and family/community expectations. Loyalty conflicts: when saying “yes” to a partner feels like saying “no” to one’s own family or culture. Repeating patterns of distance, conflict, or withdrawal in the relationship. The impact of historical trauma (war, genocide, displacement, political oppression) on trust and safety in the couple. Managing pressure or judgment from extended family on both sides. **Intention of the workshop** Our intention is to create a respectful, compassionate space in which: Each person can feel seen, with their cultural and family background honoured. The pain and love carried by previous generations can be recognised. Old entanglements and unconscious loyalties can begin to unwind. Couples can find new ways to stand side by side, facing both families and cultures with more strength and clarity. From a systemic constellation view, love flows more freely when everything that belongs is respectfully acknowledged and given a place. This workshop aims to support that movement—so that your relationship is less burdened by the past and more open to the future you wish to create together. If you feel called to explore your relationship and family roots in this way, we would be delighted to welcome you. **REGISTER HERE:** **[https://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges](https://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges)** **For more information, please contact:** [office@londonconstellations.uk](mailto:office@londonconstellations.uk) Date: Saturday July 25th 2026 Time: 10am-6pm Venue: Kailash Centre - London NW8 Workshop language: English With warmth and respect, Illi Adato
