Join me for a relaxed Saturday morning wander through **EMERGENCE[Y]**, Science Gallery Melbourne's latest free exhibition. It brings together artists, scientists and collaborators from around the world to explore how we adapt to a world in flux — from the regenerative promise of stem cells to the movement of Martian winds. Think regenerative coral soundscapes, fungal fashion, First Nations knowledge of the Birrarung and a vertical city farm, all under one roof. We'll meet at 11am outside the gates of Science Gallery Melbourne, say hello, then head inside together to explore at an easy pace. There's no set tour — we'll drift through the exhibits, chat about what stands out, and enjoy the space as a group. As a bonus, local artist Dylan Martorell's **Wild Circuits** installation is on that day, bringing the junkyard to life with interactive sound sculptures made from upcycled objects and robotics. Just so it's clear: this is a casual social meetup arranged so we can go along together — it isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Science Gallery Melbourne. Entry is free and you don't need a ticket, but an RSVP here isn't a booking or guaranteed entry. **Who this is for** * Anyone curious about art, science, or where the two collide — no background knowledge needed. * People who enjoy a gentle indoor activity and a friendly chat. * Solo attendees are very welcome — lots of people come on their own, and it's an easy setting to meet others. **Links** * Meetup start point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/YkvyqemwWDp38GJ27 * EMERGENCE[Y] exhibition: https://melbourne.sciencegallery.com/emergence-y * Related Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKMo0uWRLc8 **Timeline** * 11:00am – Meet outside the gates of Science Gallery Melbourne and say hello * 11:15am – Head inside and explore the exhibition together * 12:45pm – Meetup ends (feel free to stay on if you'd like to keep looking around) **Cost** Free — Science Gallery Melbourne's website lists EMERGENCE[Y] as free admission with no booking required. Just turn up. **Transport** Science Gallery Melbourne is at the University of Melbourne in Parkville. It's an easy walk or tram ride from the city; trams along Swanston Street and Grattan Street stop nearby. Parking around Parkville is limited, so public transport is the easy option. **Bring** * Comfortable shoes for standing and wandering * Water and a curious mind **Expect** * Difficulty: Easy — a relaxed indoor stroll * Pace: Gentle, self-guided * Vibe: Curious, friendly and low-pressure * Group style: Casual and social **Important notes** * The gallery notes a content warning: the exhibition contains potential allergens, and references to the climate crisis, the concept of death and medical themes. * It's an indoor exhibition, so it runs rain or shine. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.

Join me for a Planetarium Night at Scienceworks, where we'll settle in under the dome for Flow: Visions of Time, a 57-minute fulldome film at the Melbourne Planetarium. This is the 9pm art-film session: lean back, look up, and let a fully immersive, all-around-you screening wash over you. Museums Victoria describes these late sessions as an immersive voyage into unseen worlds, and there's a bar if you'd like a drink in planetary surroundings. We'll meet outside the Melbourne Planetarium at 8:30pm to say hello, then head in together for the 9pm session, which wraps up around 10pm. A couple of quick heads-ups: these nights are adults only (18+), and a Meetup RSVP does not include entry, so you'll need to book your own ticket (more on that below). **Who this is for** * Anyone who enjoys space, art films, or just a relaxed and slightly different night out * No knowledge or experience needed, simply turn up and enjoy * Solo attendees are very welcome; this is an easy, low-pressure one to come along to on your own **Links** Meetup start point: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/rqAyw3x2bXz8AeSc8](https://maps.app.goo.gl/rqAyw3x2bXz8AeSc8) Tickets and event info: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/planetarium-nights/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/planetarium-nights/) Trailer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uydnhMveoM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uydnhMveoM) Getting here and parking: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/plan-your-visit/getting-here-and-parking/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/plan-your-visit/getting-here-and-parking/) **Timeline** 8:30pm: Meet outside the Melbourne Planetarium and say hi 9:00pm: Session starts Around 10:00pm: Session ends and the meetup finishes **Tickets / cost** You book your own ticket directly with Scienceworks. Tickets can sell out, so it's worth booking ahead. Book via the tickets link above. **Transport** Scienceworks is at 2 Booker Street, Spotswood. * By train: Werribee and Williamstown line trains stop at Spotswood, then it's roughly a 10-minute walk. * By car: paid parking is on-site. * Full details are on the getting here and parking link above. **Bring** * Your ticket (on your phone is fine) * A warm jacket, it'll be a cold winter night **Expect** * Vibe: relaxed and low-key, very much a sit-back-and-enjoy night * Pace: easy, no walking or activity involved * Group style: casual and friendly, easy to join on your own **Important notes** * This is a casual social meetup arranged so we can head along together. It isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Scienceworks or Museums Victoria. Please book your own ticket directly with them; an RSVP here doesn't include entry. * These sessions are adults only (18+). * The planetarium program can change month to month, so please double-check the session and timing on the Scienceworks page when you book. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so our numbers stay clear.
