Come Sing Show Tunes!

This event consists of an informal concert in which the performers are all of us! We'll take turns singing Broadway show tunes. All musical levels are welcome, whether you're an aspiring musical theater star or just someone who belts out show tunes in the shower. If you feel shy about singing a solo, it's okay to come and listen. We'll also do some group singing. Please think ahead and pick one or two solos you'd enjoy singing (this is not a firm commitment, you can change your mind if you get the jitters). Depending on how many people choose to sing, you'll either get to sing one or both of your songs. We don't usually have an accompanist, so after you pick your song(s), you can search for a suitable accompaniment on YouTube. Tango dance classes with Diego and Alejandra at La Bruja

Diego Lanau and Alejandra Saravia teach tango in Berkeley! This is a series of four classes, Wednesdays, starting September 30th. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Diego and Alejandra teach the dance techniques that make communication possible! These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people. Wednesdays: Sept 30th, Oct 7th, 14th, 21st 6:45 pm: check-in 7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango series 8:00-8:30 pm practica 8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango series 9:30-10:00 pm practica The intermediate series is geared towards people who have been dancing tango for about three months (12 tango classes). “First Thursday” Irish set dancing on the 2nd Thursday

**\*\*\* NOTE: This month, we’ve moved “1st Thursday” to the second Thursday. There is NO dancing on October 1 but we’ll go 8-11pm on October 8. \*\*\*** It's the first Thursday of the month. What does that mean? Fast and furious Irish set dancing in San Francisco, of course! Dancing starts earlier (**8pm**) and goes longer – three solid hours of music, dancing, and fun. We have a different band performing live traditional Irish music for us each week. Check back here later to find out who this week's performers are! Typical attendance is 15-25 dancers.
