On **Holiday** **Monday, August 3rd, join us for Symphony in the Gardens: Broadway to Opera at Casa Loma.** The Maestro welcomes back Joey Niceforo and Sara Papini with the best of Broadway from The Greatest Showman to Annie Get Your Gun. **Purchase Symphony in the Gardens: Broadway to Opera on Monday, August 3rd at 7:30pm.** **COST** Regular Cost: $55 + service fees Meetup Organizer Fee: $5 **Ticket Policy**: All sales are final, you may be able to exchange for another date. **Prior to RSVPing, here is what you need to know about attending dinner:** \- Dining in the garden is first come\, and the recommendation is to arrive when doors open at 5pm\, which is our plan\. Casa Loma does not allow reservations in the garden\. \- A minimum $20 spend per person is required in the garden \- Half your party has to show up in order to be seated in the garden; if not you will be seated based on current people at that time \- Dining tables may also be in the glass pavilion\, if not it will be set up theatre style \- Al fresco drinks and food will be available onsite\, and you will need to eat in your lap if you don't make it into the garden \- This concert proceeds shine or rain\. It it rains\, they try to cover the area over the tables \- If we dine in the garden\, we will move into the pavilion 30 mins prior to concert start **SIGNING-UP** * **RSVP Yes confirming if you will join for dinner prior. On **Thursday, August 13th, come to the Toronto Botanical Gardens for a Free Concert with Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance. You will have the option to join a Guided Walking Tour of the Gardens before, and enjoy food and drink while there.** There will also be pre-show activities that night - **Discovery Cart** to learn about plants, **Plant/ Seed Swap**, and an **Eco-station** to support their waste diversion and recycling program. This is an outdoor event and concerts proceed rain or shine. However, if there is constant rain, I will post a comment maximum 3 hours before that I will not be attending, and attendees can still choose to stay for the concert. Chairs are provided, first come. If you plan to arrive late, bring your own chair. **Concert with classical ballet and contemporary dance** Led by pianist Chris Au, the extraordinary musicians of *Joy of Music* perform a gorgeous array of concert pieces brought vividly to life by dancers from the worlds of classical ballet and contemporary dance. The sumptuous White Swan pas de deux is featured alongside new and recent works by esteemed Toronto choreographers Jera Wolfe and Peggy Baker. A concert as lush and bounteous as the garden of Joy of Music’s founder, Mary Gore. **Pre-Guided Walking Tour** This walk will take you through the beautiful themed gardens and a stroll into the beloved Edwards Gardens. You’ll learn about the history of these gardens and all about pollinators, the plants on display, and the ecology of this area. **Music Series Host** **[Anwar Knight](https://anwarknight.com/)** is an award-winning Canadian broadcaster and environmentalist with an illustrious career spanning over two decades, during which he held pivotal roles at some of Canada’s largest newsrooms. **The Dandelion Café** Grab light bites or dinner on the patio overlooking the concert venue (limited space). Thursday night menu includes Flank Steak, Grilled Salmon, Chicken Skewers, Jack Fruit “Crab Cake” and special dessert features. The cafe also offers hot and cold drinks, snacks, and ice cream. **Discovery Cart** Explore plants, wildlife, and ecosystems through short, interactive activities and other weekly pre-show activities from 5 to 7 p.m. **Free Plant & Seed Swap** Bring as many plants as you wish to trade. If there isn’t anything of interest on the table when you arrive, add your plant(s) and take a ticket to redeem later when you see something new you’d like to try. On **Wednesday, July 29th, join us for Free Movies in The Beach, with The Fantastic Four, 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.** We will start off with optional Dinner in the Beach, followed by optional ice cream, prior to entering Kew Gardens, where we will settle down for movie start around sunset. This is an outdoor event.
